Those are not his parents. Much to his chagrin he discovered they had and still have him a conservator-ship where they can profit off of his name, image and likeness and the only way he can get his dissolve to take them to court and sue them. Oher has been telling his reality for years. Perhaps, it took just this long to bring up the petition against the Tuohys!
It's sad he was taken advantage of, basically blindsided.
This is so entirely sad.
The problem with all of this is that people think that the movie is factual and it wasn't/isn't. HOLLYWOOD portrayed MO as being "dumb". It does seem that without the families help, MO never gets into school in the first place.

Real simple to find truth is what was the movie contract payout was it what the family said or was it much more substantial like Michael says. Somebody is lying
Well he just discovered 6 months ago much his chagrin that is still in a conservator-ship and the only way to get it dissolved is to sue them. That is why the suit is taking place.
They each received $14k. The Tuohy's just sold their restaurants for 200 million. Maybe he should have asked the Tuohy's to invest some of his cash in their businesses. Their is legal paperwork.

It sounds like he may have been targeted and the story was already written but they had to find the right person to fit the mode. Now to only find out that he was not only not a bad student as the move portrayed him but actually a thriving student and was doing ok without these groomers. Did they molest him as well? Had this family not took an interest in this young man he would not be where he is today!! Gratitude quickly turns to resentment when he starts to make big bucks. Without this family he would have never made Pro!! What a disappointment in a young talented man.

This could’ve been done in private. The family could’ve adopted him but why they choose conservatorship instead? Also adoption would’ve gave him rights to their fortune instead they got rights to his lol
Michael I believe you and I support you. The Tuohy’s made two hundred million from selling their company. They didn’t need the money from the movie at all. They were already rich. In regards to the movie they should have split the movie proceeds half and half with you. They split the money among their family and didn’t give you anything. That’s just greed on their part. They also made money on the book and didn’t give you a dime.
Why did he go with it?
