      Sounds like some greedy attorneys got inside his head to conjure up a nice payday for themselves. As far as his NFL career goes, that's gone just fine and his team even won a Super Bowl....so his career doesn't look like it could've been hurt by anything from the movie. The movie was actually based on a book that was written well before the movie came out. From the sounds of it, he'll end up driving a wedge between himself and the family which will never be fully overcome. Hope the money is worth it because the damage will have been done.

    Read "I Beat the Odds" written by Michael Oher the year after the movie came out. The book is better than the movie. Michael OWES that family a lot! He was a homeless teenager - his words - before the Tuhoy family provided him stability. Without the Tuhoy family, he never graduates from high school, he never makes it to the college, and never makes it to the NFL.
    Judge, read Michael's own words written WHILE he was in the NFL. The Tuhoy family were millionaires BEFORE they ever met Michael. There was no potential in Michael when they met him.
    The "Judge" was also wrong. Michael was staying with the Tuhoy family off and on before his senior year.
    Judge, he was NOT SMART!!!! His high school gpa was 0.9 when he entered the Christian school. The Tuhoy family got a full-time tutor for him to help him catch up.
    Where did I learn all this? From Michael's book which was published the year after the movie!!!!!
    At this time, Michael is the problem, not the Tuhoy family. This is very sad. It reminds me of Colin Kapernick - another black football player not appreciative of the white family that helped him out after he was abandoned by his black parents. Very sad!

He was fortunate and privileged that the Touhey family took him in and gave him an education for his last year of high school. He knows that he wasn't adopted. He says it in his first book that he wrote. And it wasn't a conservatorship; it was guardianship.

    • @avalerie4467
      @avalerie4467 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That's just the thing. There are no" profits" to share.
      They all made the same from the movie. Everything agreed upon years ago.
      The couple's business dealings, whether they made or lost money, is none of his concern. He wants a cut from the sale of some Taco Bell outlets they used to franchise.
      Im pretty sure they aren't asking for a cut of his NFL earnings.
      Be grateful to those who helped you
      Be generous with your fame and money
      Do better, Michael.

Hollywood loves this satire where the plot is the same. A white person comes along and single handedly save the day.

      @@TruthHurtzandHealz Exactly. My thing is why would you be celebrated for housing someone for a year. He was not adopted. I know plenty of people who house people and they do not get a movie deal and a book. Heck, I've housed people myself. It's so bizarre also that the movie did not celebrate any of the black people who helped him develop his football gifts. Thats why he is saying this is not right. The movie was white washed because it was the white family as the focal point. Michael's many years before meeting this family and going to practice in the rain, when hungry or whatever was never mentioned. Also the movie is making it seem like the white family built a stellar athlete in that short time he stayed with them. As a collegiate athlete I know it takes years to develop that level of talent. Why weren't those black families or clubs who helped him develop his talents all those years included in the movie. From age 17 the white family was on the scene so that is all Hollywood cared about because it definitely solidifies the white savior complex.

    Just read the Daily Mail article on this, they were worth $200 million when they met him at 18, he and his birth mother signed the conservatorship at 18, his own words describing it in his 2011 book were "it was basically an adoption but because of his age and had to be a conservatorship". the parents said not a penny was made off of him in his career or otherwise, they have zero control of him or his money and they split the money equally with all the family members featured in the movie, about $14K each initially plus small profits from the film, everything else has gone into a trust for Michaels son since he started trying to sue them many times now. They state he has tried to hire 4 or 5 lawyers in the past who have dropped Michael as a client the minute they got the detailed statements and records from the Tohui's lawyers. So it sounds like old Judge Pirro is off with her dusty yapper too surmising they took advantage or made money with what she has seen. Can't wait for the whole story to come out and see who's the liar, tje family worth $200 million who say he is still welcome or the broke ex NFL OT who was basic at best. Funniest part of this whole thing? He says he would have figured out everything they taught him and did for him on his own without them school wise and life wise.

    • @carolynloucks5011
      @carolynloucks5011 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Traumatized, not ungrateful. There is so much hurt in foster and adopted kids. Hurt manifests in different ways for different people. A lot of times the hurt underneath comes out as anger. The majority of society seems to just look at it from the adoptive parents perspective, not really thinking about the loss the child has suffered. I'm not trying to say bad behavior should be overlooked but just realize there are 2 sides in these situations. It takes a lot of love, patient, and understanding to raise these kids. It is not a job for the faint of heart.
