    I am actually leaving to go to Lisbon on Friday and the thing that has scared me the most thus far was the food but the food in this video looks incredible!

      Oh fab, it's a super cool city and I'm sure you are going to have a lot of fun there. Portuguese food is great, especially their seafood. I'm also a big fan of piri piri chicken; you can find it pretty much anywhere in the city - it's spicy, juicy and full of flavour. Dang, I'm a bit jealous of you if im honest!

      Portuguese food is absolutely amazing. Quality and prices as well. Of course sometimes we are unfortunately when we choose the place to eat but in general go for it. The question is you must learn. It can not go wrong if you go where Portuguese people go.
      If is good for them is good for you.🥰😋😋
      Personal ; I love everything .

    Hi, nice video. I'm glad you enjoyed most of your food experiences in Lisbon. I would just like to emphasise that the Ribeira market is not about street food. The Time Out concept was to invite some of the top Lisbon chefs, restaurants, delicatessen or pastry shops, to cater for younger clients (spiritually) in a laid-back atmosphere. You can find here the two Michelin starred (Alma restaurant) and television chef, Henrique Sá Pessoa or Marlene Vieira, the first Portuguese woman chef of a 5 star restaurant (of the luxury Sofitel Lisbon hotel).
    They all try to keep their best standards, that's why they are a bit more expensive.

    • @stafscheers9692
      @stafscheers9692 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      it is a 5 star HOTEL, there is no such thing as a 5 star restaurant

      @@stafscheers9692 You are right, thank you for correcting. It was a highly praised restaurant of a 5 star hotel.

    Hi. Nice yummy video. Good choices! Just one note: Both bitoque and picapau original dishes are made with beef and not pork.

    You pronunced "ginja" as "ginia" but the "j" has the same sound as the "g", it should sound like the English "ginger". 😉
    Pastéis de Belém and Pastéis de Nata are two different things, you can get Pastéis de Nata everywhere (the recipe is "open source" and everyone can put their own spin on it) but you can only get Pastéis de Belém at that pastry shop in Belém (they're trademarked and the recipe is a well kept secret).

    • @ClassicPolly
      @ClassicPolly  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for sharing this info. I always struggled with the pronunciation of ginja so “ginger” is a great way to remember how to do it properly👍🏻

    Thank God I have already eaten otherwise I would be SO hungry!!!! Another very good restaurant that reminded me of Greek taverns was "Lovo Lebnon", very close to the statue of Marques de Pombal. Unfortunately google says that it's now permanently closed 😔

    Traditional pica-pau (woodpecker, and you just pick it with a fork or a ''pick'', like a woodpecker) are made of meat chips, remains of the cut for preparion of steaks, etc. and bitoque is made of beef/cow, pork and chicken are cheaper...egg on top of meat,french fries and rice, a pc of salad and slice of tomato. You should certify that it is not pork, they should and sometimes they specify that is pork.

    De morrer a rir. Marketing para turistas. Primeira coisa é sempre pastéis de Belém que só são razoáveis se acabados de fazer. Qualquer boa pastelaria com fabrico próprio tem deliciosos pastéis de nata com a tradicional canela
