I grew up watching Jamie Oliver’s cooking shows with my grandma. It’s one of my most cherished memories. She didn’t live long enough to see him go to her hometown and drink wine with her son’s neighbour ( the port winemaker lives in our building and has been a good family friend for many years now ) ! But man, she would have loved it ! Thank you Jamie !
So glad Jamie did Porto as it’s such a hidden gem, and amazing that he visited some of the more local places such as Afurada and Matosinhos. Props to the researchers!
Portuguese people are so humble - my husband is from Portugal - you get there portions double of the size what you get in London and less than half of what you pay here - cant wait to go back in 2024

What an amazing energy that Jamie had while experience all of our traditional food from Porto. Thanks for the video and showing the real city food ❤️🇵🇹
My father was a fisherman and he used to say that eating sardines with a knife and a fork would ruin the flavour. Traditionally, sardines just like carapaus (mackerel?), is eaten with your fingers and with the fish over a slice of bread. In the end we eat the bread too. We kept this tradition from the middle ages.
