Because it's Clearly much easier to break Female stars mentally then males at least in Hollywood, and also Lots of Males stars have went through trauma it just hasn't been documented as much as the female stars.

Men are portrayed as being tough, anyone who falls outside that portrayal is deemed as "not man enough" and is therefore taken out of the industry as quietly as possible. Drake Bell is a perfect modern example of a good kid who was warped by his toxic surroundings to then become a child predator. Males go thru the same problems as females within Hollywood, but most people would rather relate to or even pity the females over the males.
well, Michael Jackson and Prince were always pit against eachother and the media always said they had a feud, when behind the scenes, the feud was not serious and they respected eachother, their sound was really different too, i guess the media couldn't have two talented, confident black men who were not afraid to show their "feminine" side and not make any drama out of it :/

i feel like it kinda depends who. charli is definitely iconic. i don’t really keep up with her, but she definitely has had a huge impact on a lot of things. there are other influencer types that i feel like would count as iconic for this time period. there are plenty of youtubers i can see being remembered, even if it’s not for the better.

Haha same! It's a lot of fun though. I can also see why more Gen Zers are looking at and analyzing aughts pop culture. That was a very unique time in the history of celebrity due to the advent of (what was not yet called) social media, wider use of cellphones, and digital cameras, which gave the public more access to very young and messy celebs. Young celebs have a much more tightly controlled image these days.
Hilary Duff was offered first for the role of Lola (Confessions of a teenage drama queen [2004]) but had to back out because of Cindrella Story (2004).
Thank God that didn't happen, I loved and still love COATDQ , hilary duff does not have enough personality for the part of Lola.

i blame disney for child stars “acting out”. they try to paint this picture that they’re pure & innocent people who would never rebel. they’re teenagers. doing typical teenage things. & being in the spotlight at a young age clearly will have an impact later in life

I remember when this happend and it wasn't fair, tabloids and paparazzi at the time were out of control. Look at Anna Nicole Smith, no one did anything but laugh. Or Meghan Fox who was sexualised and even spoke up about it then told she should suck it up because she is famous. Which makes me feel kinda skeptical about " how better things are now" at the end of the day people follow trends and where the money is, period.

There was never a fued. The media kept trying to make it happen but it never did. They lost touch as people do, it was no big deal. Then they did the VMAs with Madonna and all was right in the world.
I don’t think they ever had beef, they just drifted apart. The media just loves to pit people against each other.
Same thing with *NSYNC and Backstreet Boys, there was no actual beef but since they were two of the most popular pop groups at the time, of course the media had to make it seem like they were rivals.
I love this style it takes me back to a fun medium of old TH-cam without the fancy lighting and just being in your bedroom talking on your camera or laptop, and the editing is good too!! I love 2000’s celebrity drama 🤧

I’m the same age as Lindsay and was always told I looked so much like her growing up, I always loved her and was polarized by what happened to her, ironically because as she was going through her rough time I was as well struggling with extreme drug addiction. I always felt so bad for her because I would not have survived what happened to me if I was in her shoes. I hope she eventually makes a come back especially given the attention the way the female celebrities were treated during this era. Love you Lindsay wish you all the best! And I’m happy to say I’m clean for 9 years this year ❤️

my childhood was revolved around lindsay lohan i remember being 8 and forced my mom to join me to watch all of her movies in the cinema. and i was very invested in her feud with hilary, her relationship with samantha ronson and then her downfall.
My dad used to work for an organization called Addiction Campuses where their goal was to help and provide different resources for addicts to help them overcome. My dad ran their podcast and had several celebrities who were former addicts come on the show to be interviewed. One of these people was Lindsey Lohan’s dad. My dad said he was one of the nicest guys he’s ever met and he really enjoyed getting to talk with him. He stated Lindsey was also doing great and that she’s been working a lot with charities. I think it’s awesome that he cared enough to take the time to be on their show to share his experience!

I think the Aaron Carter feud was teens being teens. They all were under 20 at that time. Also Hilary Duff also when clubbing underage, but I think she hid it well and she wasn’t doing more mature movies like Lindsay Lohan was at the time.
Am I right on Hilary's parents also being more stable/involved in a healthier way than Lindsay's? That typically seems to be the way with child stars- if the parents are not keeping an eye on things or dysfunctional themselves things tend to go sideways.
@@madis4913 True. But I depends on be family and children rather than just the profession. Some kids go off the deep in and some don’t, even if they have bad or good up bringing. But I think Lindsay’s family did make it hard on her.

I also don't know if the hard partying is due to their young age, personality, or because they want to rebel against something. I never was a party girl and I don't understand why someone would risk to lose all, for what they worked for, since they were kids, only because of a party or drugs or alcohol or, or, or... I don't get it but I'm also not famous.
Being a teen in the 2000s was crazy. These girls ran the world and created an insane global clubbing culture. Social media didn’t exist and people lived their lives without being filmed 24/7.

Woah this is pretty dope. I remember being a kid when Lindsay was going through this period. One year she seemed to have it all, the next she seemed to be imploding and I only got snippets from seeing tabloid headlines while waiting in line at places like Walmart
My aunt has a funny story about getting into beef with LiLo in the Chatau Marmot around 2006-ish. I still love Freaky Friday and am always rooting for her (and everyone) to live a healthy life full of growth and happiness

That vanity fair cover with all the young it girls in the mid 00s gave me MAJOR nostalgia. I remember that being at the local grocery store. Those were the days, I loved them all. HOWEVER, there appears to be a huge lack of diverse representation. I’m glad we’re working more on that as a society now.

Yeah the aughts were a terrible time when it came to diversity of any kind in media. I feel like the 90s were more diverse (more POC representation, LGBT representation, etc.). I think we're slowly getting back on track.
What do you mean lack of diverse? There was a black female, a red head, unless you're wanting to include an asian girl, well there wasn't many in disney back then in 2004 so you can't really go back and change that. What you just wanted them to shove some random girls to just make it where it is "equal" Ok and not just that but Raven Symone is a part of LGTBQ same with Lindsay she is bi but she tends to deny it. Stop with the "diversity" BS because clearly the whole point of that magazine was to show all the "Disney Princesses" Back in the day. Stop making everything about race and suck it up. Not everything in life is fair.
The fact is there is never going to be equal representation for all races or societies because all races come from a different past and different culture, when this happens it becomes a boiling pot. Similar to what the USA is now, when this happens, people tend to be more racist than usual, because they have a hard time adapting to different views of life and its harder for everyone to co-exist in a society together with mixed views on surrounding subjects. The fact is that racism will never end, because in general everyone has the ability to be racist anytime, no one is born racist, but everybody can be and a lot of times is racist, but they don't even address it or realize it, because in whoever so and so's view, it isn't racist, and this is going for all races. Not just that but a lot of people, tend to act like there is a major lack of representation of people of "color" but this is now NOT true, why? Because ever since about 2010, the whole agenda of putting more and more black and brown and even more "color" people into businesses, has actually made it where white people are barely getting represented in huge businesses now today, because if you're a white person, people will turn you down simply because of your skin color. I've had a friend who was turned down to go into a cafe because they were White. The amount of reverse racism is pathetic, not even reverse, just blatant racism from other races except white people, I'd say is much higher than "white" race. Why? Because a lot of times people of "color" get a free pass to say the N word, they can make fun of white folks. But whenever a white person does the same thing they're canceled basically. So I'd recommend educating yourself and realizing that all this "unequal representation" BS is coming from the media because they're wanting to start a Race War, IOW a civil War, so I'd recommend realizing that life isn't all about social issues, its about success, family, and peace in YOUR life. Stop focusing on other people's lives when you don't even know them because in reality they don't care about you. So I'd recommend AGAIN opening your eyes to your surroundings which you clearly don't see what ACTUALLY happens. You just watch the media and call it day, so I am done here. Bye! ;)
