Idgaf if that guy who punched Snooki had his life ruined. His size comparison to her makes the punch 100 times more alarming, he was incredibly fit and she, like you said, isn’t even 5ft. Someone so casually enacting violence against a person so much smaller than them is alarming af and I’m glad he was removed from a position of power over children.
True, as far as he knows this was a tiny woman telling him to fk off after he stole their drinks twice. That man was dangerous and that he was admitted in a place where he gets paid for killing people is appalling
@@LynnHermioneyeah, teaching a man like that - who already has a short fuse & demonstrated penchant for violence against people who pose zero threat to him - how to use a gun and give him proper fight training so he can become even more lethal sounds like an insanely bad idea. I’m sure the military will love him and find plenty of uses for someone like him, but I’m very scared for how he’ll act once he returns to regular life.
@@spy6205honestly they should use him as a front liner lol or to test new drugs on. If they find the right uses for him I’d be willing to forgive them.
It was always so sad to see the criticism and horrible parodies of snooki at the time, about her weight or being ugly or even about her pregnancy. It must have been so rough to deal with that in her early 20s and I’m glad in hindsight people see that she was actually really cool.
Agreed! I only watched small bits of Jersey Shore growing up, but when i finally watched it when I was older, I quickly came to become a fan of Snooki. She seems like a sweet girl. Just has a loud mouth and speaks her mind. We all need someone like that, though! Lol
the other day i had a memory on facebook where i was literally defending snooki. she had the audacity to give birth to her first child the same day neil armstrong died & i distinctly remember people saying some vile things that "she had to make the day about her" & others of that nature. if you weren't around for it i think it is hard to comprehend just how openly people hated the cast (nicole more than anyone else, i feel). not even just her, around that time i remember seeing such viles things said about a lot of public figures. justin bieber & rebecca black especially, it was like it was "cool" to hate them.
I remember the horror that the public expressed when Snooki announced that she was pregnant. But she actually turned out to be a great mom and the most successful of the cast aside from Pauly D. The 2000s were also so toxic when it came to women and their bodies. So cringe to think back on.
I'm actually really happy Snooki got her happy ending. Her husband's a babe, she's not a crazy party animal anymore, she's more mature, she's got 3 beautiful children. I'm so happy for her

All the “men” in the house enabled Ron. They watched him destroy Sam’s belongings, scream in her face, push her around, gaslight, lie… but the second she left the house and texted another guy she was suddenly worse than Ron??
Not just the men, Jeni and Nicole said they’d rather remain friends with Ron. Im not all surprised that they didn’t get along with Sam during that time because Sam did suck while she was going through all this. That being said … I cannot imagine being a whole grown women and not siding with the women being abused. Like we may not be besties but I don’t want to enable or be friends with your abuser! This clearly wasn’t a “girls girl” time in history
@Moon-lz5js All this and for some reason people are still surprised that Sam felt betrayed by them about the note. Like no shit she's angry, they went behind her back and were supposed to be her friends!
Not really, the girls told her what was up and Sam spit in their face. Also, Mike told her what was up TWICE and she spit in his face too. Sammy had multiple opportunities to leave from Season 2 and she never did. Vinny and Pauly were the only ones up Ron’s ass the whole time. The producers should’ve stepped in when he ruined her property though.
I watched this show as a teenager not realizing how horribly abusive Ron was to Sam…now as a grown adult it’s alarming producers didn’t intervene in some capacity?
It sucks because it sounds like behind the scenes they all knew it and it was even worse than we saw at points. But to them it was just good content they just kept it going :(
this has been my “comfort” show i keep on loop for a while now and realizing how HORRIBLE the guys, specifically ron, im BAFFLED as to how it all went on as it did
I think everyone knew it was abusive (i mean look at them, how can you not lmao) but their relationships were like played for laughs, amusement and drama so people didn't take their situation as seriously as they should have. I know they even cut out huge parts of their S3 fight because it was that brutal and they didn't want to make it "too" dark. They don't explain alot of the reasons why they get mad at each other either. Just makes it looks like it comes out of nowhere. And it's just that coupled with the roommates kinda making fun of the situation because that's all they can do.
Im from like two hours away in Maryland so I used to go to seaside every year as a kid from around 6-19 (2006-2019) during this time and my family still goes, he definitely got that from the nasty clubs lmao its actually a pretty nice area. But the night life , as usual in most tourist spots and beach towns, sleazy af. I remember being probably 10 eating in one of the boardwalk restaurants that they go to a couple times right by the store they work at and across from us at the beach snooki being arrested 😂
I live in Jersey n always laugh when I watched the show these losers went to the dive bars in jersey. Aztec has NEVER been a hot bar, I live in Jersey n it’s weird how they never went to Temptations, DJ’s Joey’s surf club, headliners or Martucci’s those are the hot clubs at the shore. These people went to the clubs/bars that no one went to.
@@Caz-z1xprobably because the trashy bars were willing to let mtv film so they could get some publicity. Any self respecting club would not let cameras in
I agree that sam didn’t win but standing up to jenni at all was brave, she’s got balls. She didn’t back down and apologize to get out of the whooping, which is commendable because grown men say Jeni hits like a man. Sami didn’t cry or act like a baby when Jeni stomped her. As a girl who cannot fight to save my life I was like “ok Sami, I see you”. I don’t think any of the other girls were ever that brave. It was super embarrassing that she did think she actually won though 😭
@@Moon-lz5js you have a good point ! But I also think that we only saw the edited version of that fight. We don’t really know what hits were being thrown or by who and how long it really was but for the guys after the fact to say yeah you fucked her up means to me that Sam did some damage but the following season when Jenni and Sam fight when Deena comes in Jenni did crack her a few times but Jenni does admit along the lines in that season that Sam did get her in Miami. I don’t think Jenni ever thought Sam would actually step up lol Either way I gotta commend Sam for sticking her ground and eating Jenni’s shots in season 3 lol
nah they shouldve hated ron way worse. he was THE drama mike shit talked and stirred shit about and was abusive and manipulative way way worse that mike was manipulative. he was overall a just evil person rather than mike who was just kinda an asshole and a bad friend at times.
mike looks like a saint compared to ron. ron's behavior was abhorrent. just, beyond abusive. trash human person. mike was just kind of annoying at times lol.
Tbh Mike was annoying but he just gives me immature guy wanting attention even if negative, no regard for his actions on others. Basically most 12-13 year old boys
What tbh m the issue is that Mike started it with the cast that people liked and had an annoying personality. But Sam was unlikeable and when people looked at the relationship they considered her stupid and annoying because Ron showed her who he was and she kept coming back. And it wasn’t like they were together before the show so their relationship was literally weeks in
Damn… Ronnie was abusive in literally every way. Gaslighting, verbally and physically abusive, constantly cheating, all while making everyone turn on Sam and make himself the lovable one.
I’m sorry but Sam also did a lot of that to herself when it comes to making people not like her. She’s one of those girls who get a boyfriend and ditches her friends. She was connected to his hip the whole show, and isolated herself because she thought everyone was hating on her relationship.
@karenburns1816 you do realize abusive relationships force yourself and often involve the abuser isolating the victim from friends and family right? thats why ron was shit talking anyone who called him out, even if they were his friends the day before
I've seen every single season and I never realized how scary Ron actually was. Like of course I recognized he was a jerk and Sammi deserved so much better, but seeing it all in a more condensed format like this, holy crap this guy was an actual abuser. The fact that he did eventually get arrested for domestic violence kind proves that. Never mind all the phycological damage he probably did.
Nah for real. I was in highschool and when I saw how he acted it was actually sad how much she cried I felt bad but I didn't care because I was immature and ignorant....nobody really cared it's fucked up
I remember when kids were watching this in middle school, but I never did because it just looked like a dumb nightmare filled with scary tan and fist bumps and this loud shortie named snookie, but now I can't believe like thirty-forty percent of my class was actually watching this garbage with their parents and that it actually aired and nobody thought this was vile. The producers not even stepping in is even worse. No, what's even worse, is that the producers enabled his behavior and everyone else lied for this fool all the while his poor girl was being manipulated and gaslighted and just constantly headf*cked. It's awful this was so popular.
@@aspenisthebest the really outrageous part is that during arguments later on, the others somehow found reasons to defend Ron, even after he straight up trashed Sam's things. Aside from cheating, it seems everything else was ok with them.

I’m sooo glad she found a good man, has a family, and seems to be doing so well and is happy!! She really deserves it.
I remember my sister used to watch this show when it was new. Nothing can truly capture how well MTV did with making everything seem like SUCH A BIG FUCKING DEAL. Sam has to walk home alone? They will have you feeling like she was just diagnosed and has a week left to live.
Lmao I remember that watched the show growing up towards the middle seasons and was like damn why they talking like shes fighting for her life in the ICU 😂
I think it’s really important to remember that around each end of season “mike being an asshole” plot, is paired with heavy usage of cocaine and other drugs by him and the other castmates. Mike was an addict going into the show and I can’t imagine being so famous and literally being paid to party helped his behavior.
the twilight x jersey shore skit is so peak early 2010's like if i had to describe the pop culture era of that time that encompasses the general vibe of it all, it's those two things.
People who weren't there when this masterpiece was put on television don't understand the impact of this show. I was 13 when this aired and me and my friends used to watch these episodes and then spend HOURS talking about them like we knew these people. I remember when the Snooki getting punched episode aired and we were like omg this is crazy. We had never seen anything like that on tv before. Vinny being alienated, Jenni and Snooki's friendship, them kicking Angelina out lol. This show was essential to 2010's culture in a way that cannot be replicated.
This is so true. When Snooki got punched that was like unbelievable. They didn’t show that type of stuff on tv back then, at least not “reality tv”. And tv was made better back then because you had to wait a week for the next episode. Now shows all come out at once, so there’s no hype.
This show truly was lightning in a bottle. No way could they do a show like this with cell phones and social media. It's one of the reasons why Teen Mom is floundering (one of the many reasons). Everything is captured on social media months before it airs of TV. We've already seen it happen in real time, we don't want to watch it again.
@BaddiesWestFightsis the BGC fun to watch like Jersey? I only binge watched this after I finished college and was done with my first Netflix marathon (Break Bad era). The drunken clumsiness is cute on Snooki, but idk if the catty violence will enrage me lol.
I was in 6th grade when the first season aired and it truly was a huge cultural phenomenon, I mean it still is! They just brought Sammi back on Family Vacation
Fun fact- the girl that stalked PAULY isn’t a stalker. She told a reporter they painted her as a stalker because she refused to sleep with him after one hangout. All the times she magically appeared near him or the cast was because he invited her. I’m pretty sure it kinda ruined ppl’s perception of her.
2:03:08 the fact that she said to her mom right after what happened "i feel like I've been abused" is so so sad 😢 Yes, she was absolutely abused. Seeing his behavior again after all these years is scary. And to think we ever thought it was "normal" while watching this, or at least not "that bad" 🙃
Honestly it breaks my heart watching back on it now. Imagine probably the worst relationship of your life with all your insecurities and abuse just aired like that on national TV
sammi went through TEXTBOOK domestic abuse in these seasons at the hands of ronnie, even if it wasn't always physically violent. it's so upsetting to see. i feel so bad for her.
Exactly & literally NOBODY protected her. Not even MTV. The cameramen just stood there & filmed. They watched this grown adult harass & damage her property! Nobody ever called the police on Ronnie. But they damn sure let Snook go to jail for being drunk. Just so they could film it.
Ehh it was physical, he shoves her around and gets in her face (as in smashes their faces together, spitting on her as he yells) and breaks her shit. I get that he isn't beating her but thats still physical violence/terrorizing with the threat of physical harm 😵💫
@@brigade7678 you're right, and that's why i said 'wasn't always'. i meant there was times he was, but not all instances. sorry if my wording was unclear in some way?
Yeah, they made a big deal in the 1st season of family vacation about her not coming back & it was just like "oh, you don't understand why she doesn't want to live in a house with her abusive ex?" There were so many bad moments but the fact that Ronnie wasn't sent packing when he DESTROYED all of her stuff & threw her bed while she was on it is insane. I don't think they could get away with that decision now.
The punch was what solidified Nicole in the group. She was still uneasy about her place there until she saw how they rallied for her. Literally up that point they were still intentionally messing up her name/laughing about her in the confessional, then once they all got home from beachcomber, they're her "family"
I literally forgot about everything that happened on this show, I watched being a teenager and thought Ronny and Sam were toxic but watching it now as an adult.. I truly believe Ron was the issue, Sam was insecure but Ron created every single problem but would blow over on her for not trusting him, insanity. This recap was a 10/10.
I completely agree that Ron is an abuser (this has been proven time and time again, in every relationship we’ve seen him in) However, we can’t totally overlook the fact that Sam continued to take him back over and over again. As someone who has been in a relationship with a narcissistic abuser, I can say first hand that continuing to go back to my abuser was toxic on my part (Hear me out; just because someone’s behavior is toxic doesn’t necessarily mean they’re a bad person). No matter how much my family and friends begged me to get away and warned me of the shit show they saw coming, I was so caught up in the cycle of toxicity, all of their words went in one ear and out the other. So essentially, yes I was a victim of abuse, but my loved ones were victimized by ME due to my unwillingness to break away from my abuser. I hurt myself by allowing him to continue to hurt me, and in turn, I was continually hurting the people that love me. My mom had countless sleepless nights worrying about whether or not I’d be alive the next day. My friend was constantly calling 911 to do a welfare check out of fear for my life. I witnessed the people that mean the most to me cry so many times because of the decisions that I was making time and time again, and yet I still kept going back. Obviously hindsight is 20/20, therapy works wonders, and I would never allow myself to even be put in that position again. But I’m now able to look back and take accountability for my own toxic behavior that caused pain to my loved ones. I think that being able to get to that point of knowing that you were a victim but also holding yourself accountable for the things that were in your control is SO important for those that have been in relationships like this. Healing isn’t always an easy process. It’s not pretty either. But it is so necessary.
@@DevCoffeyHey, thanks so much for sharing all this. I'm really glad you're doing better. It sounds like an abusive relationship is like addiction in some ways: your situation is dangerous, but you just can't seem to get away from it - due in no small part to the danger that could befall you if you try.
@@DevCoffey there’s a lot of victim blaming and self depreciating in this comment. Hope you’re able to get past that. Speaking about abuse should never ever be followed up with even the slightest bit of “well they stayed so it’s kinda their fault too.” No matter how nicely you word it and no matter if you’re the person who actually went through it, that narrative is harmful. Yes your family may have suffered along with you but your abuser and the trauma bond they created is to blame for that.
People would genuinely get so mad you if you admitted to liking it or even watching it. I remember once saying I saw one episode but never watched it again (I was lying, this show was my crack) but even admitting to finishing a whole episode got my Iq and my morality questioned to all levels my god people take everything so seriously lol
@@SocialExperiment232 yeah, this was my experience. I told my best friend I watched Jersey Shore and she acted like it was a serious moral dilemma on my part. I had to create an excuse that it was a comfort show for me because it was always on when I was having insomnia, and then she "understood". That excuse was partly true, but I would have still watched it even if it hadn't been the case.
I agree, back then it was like a guilty pleasure. Lol now I can openly admit I loved it and still so. It's more nostalgic to me now, but yeah. We were all trying to be like them when we'd go to the club in college. 😂
Ron and Sam were so fucking toxic. I don’t know how they could just record what's basically abuse and sell it for entertainment. The fact that Sam kept taking him back to me is really sad. I hope she's doing better now.
It kills me that he poisoned all friendships with the cast, she must have felt crazy 24/7 and just surrounded by enemies so the only safe place she had was the same person hurting her. Heartbreaking to watch
@@lg403i literally skipped the episode where he destroys all her stuff. Ugh especially the breaking of glasses hits way too close to home for me so I went straight to Italy lol
I think you left out the best part of Sam returning to the house in Season 3. With Paul’s fabulous comedic delivery and another testament to the flawless editing on MTV’s part, as she’s entering, Paul just beams a smile and goes “Hi Sam 😀” and you hear the drop sound as it cuts to Ronnie’s face.
I know Snooki is super short but that shot of her hugging Jenny from behind really showcases how tiny she actually is 😂 The top of her head doesn’t even reach Jenny’s shoulders!!!
Weirdly eye-opening to see Angelina get into beef with the cast so bad that she straight up leaves. Like she was real for that. If it sucks, hit da bricks. Real winners quit
Snooki and Deena actually met on MySpace, Snooki was sort of a fan of Deena, then they became like mutuals and would comment on each other posts. They went clubbing together a couple of times, then became closer once they auditioned. The crew did not know they were friends when they decided to take Deena back.
What was the point of Ron constantly lying and saying he wasn't cheating when he was literally filmed doing it 😭 Even if no one in the house told her, Sam would have found out anyways at some point from the show
@@AshtonGarlandwhile I’m not disputing the validity of your statement, actually I’m sure you’re right, but he was also a barely functional human being lol. I doubt he ever considered consequences, and doesn’t seem like that changed since he’s been arrested for DV in the last 3 years.
Not to defend that idiot but they were literally filming and cut off from the real world for long periods of time and forced to be around those people in that box and a bunch of cameras for weeks at a time. Would def alter your perspective of reality after a while, not even mentioning the constant drinking and alleged drug use..
As someone who just got out of the military, joining the military cause you got arrested for assault and couldn't do anything else is the most stereotypically military thing ever. Edit: to clarify, i am not one of them lol I just knew more than a couple soldiers who DEFINITELY were/are.
Definitely not common in the military in the last decade. There might be a handful but they're usually getting bare minimum security clearance and doing the MOS that nobody else really wants to do/needs filling. Ironically, the few I knew that had a "deal" with the court, usually minded their p's and Q's while serving because they're on a "radar". The biggest troublemakers were usually the ones that were never caught/held accountable before they joined.
As someone who definitely enjoys going out, having a few drinks, dancing, etc. once in awhile., I've never understood how/why they all partied so hard. Ron spoke on multiple podcasts about how in Miami he was drinking 10-15 drinks per night, 5-6 nights per week. The entire cast has been candid about how during nights out in season 2 most of them were combining heavy drinking with some other substance - either cocaine, molly, speed or shrooms depending on the night. I'm shocked they were handling themselves so well besides the seldom stumbling and throwing up. Or maybe MTV gave them all great edits and didn't air more of their sloppy antics.
There was this one episode where Ron went to the doctor because he was drinking so much his butthole was bleeding!! I feel like they brushed over that so casually 🙃

Rewatching this she in my 30s was insane. The blatant misogyny that we all just laughed at and the body shaming in every episode. Mike was the worse. @SavedPdf since you asked for recs, if you haven’t seen mike’s mic i highly recommend his “unhinged” recaps! kinda different vibe from mila since he’s less focused on the early 2000s culture and more about movies and tv in general but his tv show deep dives are so funny and entertaining to follow even if you haven’t seen the show - much like this video! specifically recommend his pretty little liars series since it’s the first one he did, but he’s got some out for gossip girl, lost, and glee too. gg and lost are still in progress since he posts in parts. both him and mila are some of my faves on youtube
@SavedPdfQUINTEN REVIEWS!!!!! He’s watched Fred, iCarly, Victorious in full & breaks down everything like like how Mila does. He also reacts to the merch & cheap video games that were released & things that were cannon & crimes that were committed 🤣
My favorite was when that girl was calling Snooki fat in the club and she didn't hesitate to start throwing hands. Then when Snooki asked her what happened, Jenni said "she called US fat". She was a real one for not singling out her friend.
@@neverbeganformenone of those things were cool by any standard, however, mike and ron are big guys, whereas snooki is not even 5 ft, making her being punched a bigger deal as it could have hurt her worse
It’s so crazy that Snooki had so much hate because she was ALWAYS my fave. I mean I grew up watching this in middle school but even then I just never understood lmao. She was so cute and funny and I related to her bc of our cheer background and love for pickles. I always found Mike and Ronnie to be weird and annoying tbh. Looking back, especially in season 1, Sammi gave pick me vibes right away. The way she treated the other girls for male attention rubbed me wrong. It is weird that the media had SO much hate for such young people who just wanted to party Edit to add: I’m fully aware Angelina was also a mega pick me as well but that was more blatant than Sammi
I feel like that’s easy to say bc she’s pretty and was with a guy. If she were such a pick me, she wouldn’t have been invested in Ron. She was blinded by what she thought was love. The real pick me’s were Angelia and Deena, who fucked everyone. Literally.
@@peekaboocharlie8502 Rewatch the way she treated the girls and talked to them especially because she was in a relationship lmao. I’m also not about to slut shame anyone. They were consenting adults so that has nothing to do with me. Not really sure why you felt the need to bring that up tbh
@@peekaboocharlie8502 Also…a pick mes main goal is to get the attention of a man/men lmao. The whole point is they want a man to pick them so the goal was achieved by her getting with Ron. Very curious to know what you think a pick me is
Looking back on jersey shore, ronni was HIGHKEY toxic as hell. Sammi survived a narcissistic partner right in front of our faces. I’m happy she left him alone and she’s doing better in life now ❤ Wonderful, detailed video btw!
@@mona.m.3134 she repeatedly isolated , manipulated a be gaslight him. On top the physical abuse. She is clearly a textbook female narcissistic. Stop making excuses for her. They were both toxic. Love how you are trying to justify physical abuse. Very telling of your character
@@jordonjones3423 actually bro, YOUR comment is very telling. if you were educated on DA or DV at all, you wouldn’t be saying that shit. she is a textbook case of a victim. she obviously did some horrible stuff in their relationship, but that doesn’t justify how he treated her
no lie i can barely stomach the first 3 seasons now even though they’re certainly the best ones because of how disgusting ron is. it’s so insanely triggering and til this day i just don’t understand how the cast can look at that and really consider this man a brother or how viewers can clearly see this girl being abused, gaslit and manipulated not only by ron but by the whole house and still pick a side OR how mtv was so thirsty that they allowed this fool to continue to be apart of the cast. truly mind boggling but great video
I'm gonna be in these comment sections defending Sam to the death fr. She behaved badly too but she was so clearly acting out as a victim of abuse. I was really proud of her for taking herself out of that situation for so many years, I'm worried about her going back to the revival show because she'll be surrounded by triggers and people are so ready to turn on her.
Fun fact about the Situation. Him and his brothers had been in films as kids. Most known for a cult classic, Sleepaway Camp. So he was kind of already known by casting directors. Plus the personality to boot.
@@RiggedandReadyno it was the original. I've been to cons with the brothers as part of the panels. Also Mike is a lot older than he portrays or releases. He was in the background where his older brothers had more stuff to do.
I actually just rewatched this, anyone in that house who defended Ron and enabled his behavior is disgusting as well. They all knew; watched Sammi lose her mind & be verbally, mentally & emotionally abused, then they're on Family Vacation, making jokes about this as if its funny. Sammi & Rons relationship is the epitome of abuse. She lost all her friends, herself & her mind, production is sick letting this go on for as long as it did. Cheating is the worst thing you can do to somebody, its so abusive. Them choosing to surround themselves with Ron after he cheated says alot about them & their character. You can tell throughout season 2-4 Sammi completely lost herself. I hope she's holding up well.
It's like the guys were like "oh we mind our business" They mind their business right but completely snitched to Jozea about Angelina mingling, not wanting to give up the coochie because he bought her a 50$ fossil watch. "Guy code" can exist just like "Girl code" but however, holding your friend accountable & calling them out when the fuck up is acceptable, they were all yes men, scared *shitless* of hot-temper 5 year old Ron.
Seeing as how nearly everyone on this show cheated on someone else with someone else- plus their misogyny- it's really not that surprising that they chose to surround themselves with Ron. Ron is the epitome of everything they believe in, Sammi is everything they don't care about.
I remember watching random episodes as they aired on mtv when I was a kid. It wasn't until i was in college a few years ago that I actually sat down and watched the entire show. The thing that absolutely blew my mind as I was watching it is what you highlighted throughout this video-- the misogyny. Like, Jesus. It was both rampant in the guys and internalized in the girls. Not to mention, how uncomfortable it was to watch Ron's disgusting abuse towards Sam and have everyone in that house kinda just look away. It's weird because on one hand its almost nostalgic for me and its also probably one of the best reality tv shows of all time but it's also a time capsule of the 2000s: the good, the bad, the ugly and the really really ugly
For real! It’s the only reality show I’ve ever been so invested in and I still rewatch it every so often cause it just reminds me of a simpler time lol truly the goat
That was the season when the show peaked. I think that all of the cast were going through their own personal issues and realized that the nonstop partying was no longer fun and would soon be time to move on from the show. Season 5 & 6 seemed so forced and are definitely the weakest of the series.
I'd like to bring up the "fact" or more say a rumor, that Snooki's "friend", Ryder was not really her friend. Ryder was more of a "party" friend with doing supposed "substances" with each other. It's known that Ryder came out purposefully to media about snooki to tell some stories about her. Which I think it's messed up because I believe it was during the time Snooki was pregnant with her first child and when she was done with partying altogether. Of course, Ryder going to media was on purpose for her to gain some attention which didn't do anything for her.
Oh dang! I had heard that they stopped being friends around the time Snooki got pregnant because she was done with her party days and Ryder wasn't, but I had no idea she sold her out like that!
I was in high school when jersey shore was on and I will never forget the chokehold this show had on people. The day after this show aired literally everyone would talk about it in class. I liveeeeed for this video
Love this, but one thing to correct - Snooki and Deena were friends on MySpace for a long time. Although they did meet IRL around Jersey Shore days, they knew each other and talked for years before that. This was confirmed on their Meatball Podcast.
I love how you’re not bias, you call them out on their stuff, so many people try to make Snooki and Jenni as the nice girl girls but no they had their issues as well, EVERYBODY ON THE SHOW DID 😭
I know this was a re-telling so bts stuff isn't highlighted, but there are some key things I think should be noted! That Reddit AMA was really enlightening, and any fan of the show should read it. The former employee said that Sam would do things to egg Ronnie on, and make constant comments belittling him. People on the Jersey Shore Reddit will constantly use this bit of information to debate if Sam was really the abuser in the relationship (of course they do, it's Reddit -_-). Jenni actually DID tell Sam that Ron was cheating in season 2. It was in a deleted scene, she straight up said to her face "You need to go get STD tested because he is out doing stuff". When Sam didn't take it directly from Jenni, they decided to do the note and frame it as if it was from production. Also in season 2, Snooki had her stomach pumped. This was never aired. Remember Snooki and Jwoww's road trip to Miami? That was actually the basis for the spin off series they pitched to MTV, which would eventually become Snooki and Jwoww, and then the actual concept of the JS cast traveling would be used for Family Vacation. Speaking of spin-offs, Ron was supposedly in talks with SallyAnn to get his own show. I remember reading in 17 magazine that interns for the show would have to run around Seaside to find Snooki for filming. She could usually be found tanning when she was supposed to be filming! The cast didn't get paid for the first season, except for what they made at the T shirt shop. Ravioli's is now closed, as is Karma and several iconic spots. What isn't closed is the Cyber Cafe in Miami where they wrote the infamous note! The bar where the situation tried to hook up with the girl in the bathroom has a drinked named after the incident called "Sex in the bathroom". I've had it and it's really good!
You’re wrong. Jenni insinuated Ron “might” be doing stuff and said it as if she should do it because she doesn’t know what he’s doing…because Sam literally didn’t know and was speculating. Also false, the cast didn’t get paid for the first season? Absolute lies. Every reality show pays every episode. It was a low amount but I remember the cast asking for a RAISE and EQUAL PAY for each cast member. MTV wanted to pay snooki, the situation and Pauly way more than the others but they didn’t think it was fair so they fought against it. No way people would quit their job to film a reality tv show if they weren’t getting any money.
@@elle2313I love it when people just flat out tell me I'm wrong when they can't back their shit up. Multiple cast members have gone on record and said they only got paid from the t shirt shop the first season. There are articles of their quotes online. You severely underestimate the ego of these people if you think no one would be on a reality show on a popular network for free. The clip of Jenni telling Sam that Ron cheated is also online. She told Sam that Ronnie had been cheating on her to her face. Ronnie had told her this himself, that he hooked up with a girl in the bathroom while Sam was waiting for him in bed. Sam said "I'm going to kill him" and then of course nothing came of it.
@@elle2313their alcohol, food and rent was paid for by MTV so anything else they wanted had to be bought via their income from the Shore Store. This is well documented by both cast members, production and even Danny himself who owns the shore store and the shore house.
I wish I had the energy to make videos and do this exact thing because I have too much useless information taking up space in my brain and I want to let it out and be able to relate to others who are also into the topics. Maybe a group of us could have a shared Google doc , and then when we all feel manic or like hyper-fixating (💀Lmao) that's when we'll update the doc, and maybe within a year we could have one video made. 😂😂😂
So as a NJ native, I think the reason that the complaint “they’re not even from NJ” comes up so often is actually a combo of two things: Jersey residents, especially beach town residents, are insanely prideful of the state; and, out of towners, although bringing commerce to the area for the summer, are universally reviled. Like it is practically a sport to hate tourists in NJ. We have multiple “pet” names for them, such as benny. So beach town residents seeing a show called “Jersey Shore” featuring almost no local residents and behaving poorly really makes people here salty. I 100% agree with you though, the show never said it was about being FROM New Jersey, it’s always promoted itself as a show about tourists.
Yet these NJ folks have the nerve to complain about bennys, but have no problem bringing their b.s. down to the Outer Banks, NC just being menaces (from VA and have been vacationing there for 25+ years, 9 times out 10 someone causing problems or being xenophobic...there a ton of international people that work there in the summer...they were from NJ). I'm like, make it make sense?! That always drove me nuts on this show!
@@Hokie5Libra82Yeah and in some beach towns in NJ a lot of rude tourists are from Quebec. There’s no reason to single out any location as being full of trash people, people from all over the world can act entitled and rude as tourists. So it’s frustrating to my poor self who can’t even afford a vacation to be automatically called trashy because some random from my state was rude. Don’t spread the nastiness around! Stereotyping is just nasty.
Jenni going into defense for Snooki when she got punched, that's a real friend, gotta love it when friends protect each other like that. If you want to be a better friend, take notes. 34:12
Another video essay about a niche topic that I had no deep interest or knowledge of prior to seeing it on my screen that I will watch in its entirety and become so passionate/defensive of. Mila’s video especially are such a treat.
One of my favorite video genres is "creator breaks down the absolutely-unhinged events of reality television and the context in which they occured" and this scratches that itch perfect. And I used to blindly hate on Jersey Shore 😂
J420 and Joey Yanks have got to be the most unserious names to ever be spoken. Also, there's no grey area when it comes to Ron and Sam's relationship. Or they are sickly obsessed with each other, being clingy and alienating themselves from everyone else, or they have massive blowouts and attack each other with every low blow possible. i used to eat this show up when I was younger, but even now just watching your vid I got so exhausted watching them repeat their pattern over and over again. His behavior towards women, like shoving sam and snooki, plus the whole rage fit on season 3 was a clear sign of what would came later on in his other relationship.
Watching this as a kid I thought the Ron and Sam situation was annoying but watching it as an adult gives me chills. I didn’t blame her for not wanting to come back they literally sat back and watched Ron abuse her mentally and emotionally while cheating
There's a rumor going around that "stalker" Danielle was actually dating Pauly but he made that narrative up just for the show. And it actually kinda ruined her reputation.
according to one of the producer AMAs, pauly and vinny’s rare roses were actually scouted by producers and asked if they’d be interesting in dating them/ being love interests
Jersey Shore was my guilty pleasure. I was pleased that Mike went through rehab and is now doing really well. It seems like everyone but Ron and Angelina are doing well.
There is so much violence between the cast! I totally normalized that when I watched it. Why do they punch, slap and push their partners/ friends? So much abuse. I hope they could reflect on it later on.
Thank you Mila. I fell asleep to this video while I had a fever and had the worst Jersey Shore fever dreams you could possibly imagine. Scarred for life mate. Wouldn't change a thing x
I always have dreams that im friends with the Kardashians. I dont even follow them that much or haved watched the show in years.. yet ive had like 10 dreams about them.
Interesting point that wasn't included: Nicole recently said on a podcast that while filming season 2 her, Pauly, and Mike were pulled aside by producers and told they were keeping them for season 3 while re-casting the rest of the roommates. Then, when season 2 started airing and ratings spiked they went against this at the last minute when they started season 3. Snooki said that she wasn't even told this and when she got to the house with Deena for season 3 they were expecting all new roommates except Pauly and Mike.
Girl PLEEEase do Bad Girls Club next. You know it's on your to-do list!! I'd even be willing to help you if possible lol. BGC shook tf out of me in my early 20s.
I appreciate this recap. I started a rewatch ahead of Sammi being back for JSFV but could not stomach Ron’s abuse. I never realized just how badly Sammi was gaslit and how his behavior was enabled by the roommates. But most importantly MTV. They allowed this poor girl to be mentally, emotionally and even physically tormented by this man child. I couldn’t bring myself to keep going after season 3 so thanks for doing the work with this series! 👏
Just a theory, but was it because Sammi was pretty bland, demeanor wise, that MTV turned the other way on how Ronnie treated her? The other girls had much more of a “in your face” type of personality. Now I know Ron would never get away with his crap if he was with either Jen or Snook, but I just think MTV would not let that pass if it was one of those two. Just musing out loud!
fr like not to slut shame because that's gross, but it was very hypocritical of them to call other women sluts when they were doing what they were doing. like girly you're not any different, stop acting like every other woman is a trashy skank and you're classy

I will never get over Pauly pointing out Angelina's trash bag luggage. Also, that "come at me, bro" was fierce. The fact that he tucked his chain in his shirt right after he said it made me realize he was about that action before anything happened lol.
In her defense it wasn’t _completely_ her fault, the producers had told them literally the day before filming started that they had gotten chosen for the cast

And it wasn’t like they were together before the show so their relationship was literally weeks in
Truth!

Aside from cheating, it seems everything else was ok with them.

the twilight x jersey shore skit is so peak early 2010's like if i had to describe the pop culture era of that time that encompasses the general vibe of it all, it's those two things.

I’m pretty sure it kinda ruined ppl’s perception of her.

sammi went through TEXTBOOK domestic abuse in these seasons at the hands of ronnie, even if it wasn't always physically violent. it's so upsetting to see. i feel so bad for her.
@jebipop nah you're all good, I don't know how but I missed one word! 😮💨😔 ty for a polite response
They may be awful people at times but Vinnie and Pauley's bromance is still one of the sweetest in television history.
Ron was 100% the issue, he’s been abusive to multiple partners
I completely agree that Ron is an abuser (this has been proven time and time again, in every relationship we’ve seen him in)
However, we can’t totally overlook the fact that Sam continued to take him back over and over again.

Very curious to know what you think a pick me is
I also was always a Snooki fan, I was a chubby short girl when the show premiered so I felt a connection to Nicole even if I was 12 lmao
Looking back on jersey shore, ronni was HIGHKEY toxic as hell. Sammi survived a narcissistic partner right in front of our faces. I’m happy she left him alone and she’s doing better in life now ❤
Wonderful, detailed video btw!
So she didn’t punch in the face ?

@@mona.m.3134 so physical abuse to ok LMAO. You are a joke

Absolutely hate they didn’t kick Ronnie off the show after second season. DA isn’t good drama on a show. He’s a piece.
She didn’t punch him the face?

Jenni on JS was such a gem.. I miss that Jenni, the one on JSFV is a completely different person.

Fun fact about the Situation. Him and his brothers had been in films as kids. Most known for a cult classic, Sleepaway Camp. So he was kind of already known by casting directors. Plus the personality to boot.
Sleepaway camp is one of my favs and i never realized this😮😮😮
Omg im gonna rewatch now 😂
Im pretty sure Mike would have been born around the same year that movie released though. Was it one of its sequels?
It's like the guys were like "oh we mind our business"
They mind their business right but completely snitched to Jozea about Angelina mingling, not wanting to give up the coochie because he bought her a 50$ fossil watch. "Guy code" can exist just like "Girl code" but however, holding your friend accountable & calling them out when the fuck up is acceptable, they were all yes men, scared *shitless* of hot-temper 5 year old Ron.
Agreed till you said cheating was the worst thing you can do to someone. Are you familiar with physical abuse? Lol. Bye 😊
@peekaboocharlie8502 it’s not a competition both are equally abusive. what’s your damage?
Seeing as how nearly everyone on this show cheated on someone else with someone else- plus their misogyny- it's really not that surprising that they chose to surround themselves with Ron. Ron is the epitome of everything they believe in, Sammi is everything they don't care about.
@@peekaboocharlie8502two things can be right at the same time. Weird ass comment.
This was the BEST cast of reality TV ever. It was so perfect. Will never be redone again.
I NEVER THOUGHT YOU’D MAKE THIS! the best reality show ever ❤
I agree always my comfort show lol
For real! It’s the only reality show I’ve ever been so invested in and I still rewatch it every so often cause it just reminds me of a simpler time lol truly the goat
dude i can’t wait for you to go into the Italy season it was honestly such a dark vibe with so much other shit happening behind the scenes
The "other shit" was the drugs shit?
Jenni and Roger had a miscarriage
That was the season when the show peaked. I think that all of the cast were going through their own personal issues and realized that the nonstop partying was no longer fun and would soon be time to move on from the show. Season 5 & 6 seemed so forced and are definitely the weakest of the series.
Mike's addiction was at all time high. Both 4 and 5. Vinny has anxiety issues. Of course, he filmed season 4 and season 5 back to back.
In the past three months this has been uploaded I've watched both parts AT LEAST 6 time all the way through no lie. I live for this so much 😭
I'd like to bring up the "fact" or more say a rumor, that Snooki's "friend", Ryder was not really her friend.
Where’s you hear this? 😢 that sucks I liked Ryder
It sure didn't, cuz I've never heard of this before right now 🤣 womp womp . But for real I loathe people who do shit like that how low can you get?
I love how you’re not bias, you call them out on their stuff, so many people try to make Snooki and Jenni as the nice girl girls but no they had their issues as well, EVERYBODY ON THE SHOW DID 😭
as someone who grew up in this era but has never seen a single episode, I thank you for your service
Hahaha I’m so invested I don’t like it but I do and I hate it but I don’t 😂😂
I used to work with Sam the ‘Canadian Model’ 😹
Oh you know that this video is gonna be good when it’s longer than the average movie run time
I wish I had the energy to make videos and do this exact thing because I have too much useless information taking up space in my brain and I want to let it out and be able to relate to others who are also into the topics. I LOVE shit from the 90s up to 2010 🤤 it can be so much fun!!!
Maybe a group of us could have a shared Google doc , and then when we all feel manic or like hyper-fixating (💀Lmao) that's when we'll update the doc, and maybe within a year we could have one video made. 😂😂😂
This is my comfort TH-cam video btw
We hate tourists in nyc too😂😂😂
Tbf every major city native hates tourists. Tourism is such a double edged sword :/
@@Hokie5Libra82 exactly! I'm from the Outer Banks and these trashballs come down just to act like animals and then wonder why no one likes New Jersey

Mila’s video especially are such a treat.
Welcome! …. sooooo who’s your favorite now? lol
I love this energy and I thank you for being this way 🫡
One of my favorite video genres is "creator breaks down the absolutely-unhinged events of reality television and the context in which they occured" and this scratches that itch perfect. And I used to blindly hate on Jersey Shore 😂
The clip of Snooki staring down the camera when Sam sarcastically says “im here to help you” is so so so funny
LMFAO the comment I was looking for about J420 and Joey Yanks 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
As a mid Atlantic girly I’m SOOOOOOO ready for jersey shore nostalgia
Watching this as a kid I thought the Ron and Sam situation was annoying but watching it as an adult gives me chills. I didn’t blame her for not wanting to come back they literally sat back and watched Ron abuse her mentally and emotionally while cheating
The Miami season is a hall of fame reality tv moment. It reaches heights that not many tv shows do
There's a rumor going around that "stalker" Danielle was actually dating Pauly but he made that narrative up just for the show. And it actually kinda ruined her reputation.
danielle actually talks about this herself
according to one of the producer AMAs, pauly and vinny’s rare roses were actually scouted by producers and asked if they’d be interesting in dating them/ being love interests
Jersey Shore was my guilty pleasure. I was pleased that Mike went through rehab and is now doing really well. It seems like everyone but Ron and Angelina are doing well.
I LEGIT just got done making my dinner and was looking for a video to watch...the timing couldn't have been better
There is so much violence between the cast! I totally normalized that when I watched it. Why do they punch, slap and push their partners/ friends? So much abuse. I hope they could reflect on it later on.
They aren’t quite “friends” Jenni and Sammi for example both didn’t like each other. Snooki and Angelina didn’t like each other
Thank you Mila. I fell asleep to this video while I had a fever and had the worst Jersey Shore fever dreams you could possibly imagine. Scarred for life mate. Wouldn't change a thing x
Relatable cause I had a dream snookie was chasing me yelling mean (but true) things about me and the camera men were there
is it really a scar or is it a souvenir from this wild journey of a recap?
That really is the best state to watch late 2000s reality tv with. It's like when you get shots and pinch yourself hard enough to forget the needle.
I always have dreams that im friends with the Kardashians. I dont even follow them that much or haved watched the show in years.. yet ive had like 10 dreams about them.
“They’re talking about a relationship, my shoes are dirty” 💀💀💀
Interesting point that wasn't included: Nicole recently said on a podcast that while filming season 2 her, Pauly, and Mike were pulled aside by producers and told they were keeping them for season 3 while re-casting the rest of the roommates. Then, when season 2 started airing and ratings spiked they went against this at the last minute when they started season 3. Snooki said that she wasn't even told this and when she got to the house with Deena for season 3 they were expecting all new roommates except Pauly and Mike.
That's so terrifying
How is this possible ? How would the rest of the cast not know this info when they’re friends outside the show.
@@elle2313 individual contract rules is my assumption. If things are told to you under NDA you can’t rlly share that information

Just musing out loud!
mila....I can't get over this is a year old... it's almost like I was waiting for part 2 yesterday 😭😭😭😭
This was BEAUTIFULLY done
Also I hated how the girls would refer to any outside girl as “a whore” idk it seemed so pick me
fr like not to slut shame because that's gross, but it was very hypocritical of them to call other women sluts when they were doing what they were doing. like girly you're not any different, stop acting like every other woman is a trashy skank and you're classy

Not only do you make it really easy to understand the storyline/drama, but your personality keeps it entertaining and fresh. Excellent work, absolutely marvelous and I can't wait for part 2! ❤🥳
