That’s crazy as a kid I thought Lindsay was like 25/26 going through all this turns out she was literally 18/19/20. That’s insane I just turned 21 and can’t imagine having gone through any of this 😭😭
@@ThayGPrieto SAME! I'm 26 and I was in my teens at the time and I always though Lindsay was in her mid 20's when all of this happened! It's so sad because it's obvious that her parents didn't care and she didn't have anyone guiding her...
She is sentenced to prison over and over and over again yet barely serves any of it, or it gets moved to house arrest. It's crazy how you get treated differently when you're rich and famous.
Right?! It's like these celebrities spend the amount of time in jail it takes for me to watch a movie. It's just a slap on the wrist for them - being able to throw money at all of their problems. But a $100,000 bond for the average person is life changing amounts of money, and their entire life is changed and people spend years and years of their life in prison - not to mention the horrific struggle waiting for anyone after prison finding a way to live a normal life and getting work, finding housing with people that will accept you, etc. It's completely unfair how celebrities can be serial offenders and get back to their hotels and party lives less than 12 hours of their arrest. No hate towards Lindsay Lohan here from me, but the ability to solve all of your problems - including the law - is clearly openly abused by the "elite" in our society.
That’s what I got from this too lol. I m around the same age as Lindsay and grew up in LA and this made me think about my friend group back then and all the rude, horrible things we would say to/about each other just because that was the cool thing to do. It really was a diff time. Also call out culture wasn’t a thing back then. Now if ANY public figure says or does some off the wall ish they’re damn near scraped off the face of the earth lol
The older part of the millennial cohort used to be very mean and passive aggressive, a lot due to having older Gen X siblings or parents. Not bashing Gen X but they’re a really tough, angry and serious cohort. A “bubbly” Gen X is a damned unicorn. They are all really about being edgy, serious, gruff, and full of “attitude”. They’re overall very jaded. Which is opposite of what Millenials originally wanted to be, as they were trying to be more optimistic and free, due to the negativity from their Gen X ancestors or brethren, trying to shoot for what Boomers had. Gen X saw all the bullshit now happen and gave up early on, Millenials tried to fight what Gen X did thinking we could do better and that they’d like us “more” or that we were the only ones to have to overcome Boomers since Gen X is still not quite middle aged yet. The 90-95 Millenials JUST GOT What Gen X saw 20 years ago hence why we’re paying attention to the time and people with different eyes. We see that it was really bad, but because most of us grew up censorized compared to Gen X, we didn’t wake up until we eventually had to enter the ring of life ourselves OUT of HS. Gen X saw doom before they graduated HS. Millenials were “innocent” teens while Gen Xers weren’t, and the 80s Millenials are right in the middle. The 1990-1995 Millenials are extremely different from their 80s counterparts and then the 1994-1997 group sort of more like the kids born after 1999. It’s really weird but yeah the Millenials you can skip into three and see huge differences: 1. 1980-1989 (AKA those who really enjoyed MTV) 2. 90-94 (where it seems like the majority of us where born. We sort of enjoyed MTV but it was whack by the time we got it). 3. 95+ (when MTV became reality focused). Basically the 1990+ millennials have more in common with the older sect of the recent generations (Gen Z) than the older half of the millennial group which were born in the 1980s, who are more like Gen X-lite than Millenials. *Editted: Forgot to end 199 as 1990.
@@wordswarsandsymphonies The saddest part is that the cycle still continues. Agreed. I'm really hoping she'll get back on top one day - I just love her and her personality ❤️ I also love you, Luke! Fun to see you over here on this smaller channel 🙂
for me that's the big difference between her and hillary duff. like lindsay actually had talent and could have been a great actress whereas hillary was always going to mellow out as she reached adulthood (she's obviously not bad but I don't think she held a candle to lindsay)

IKR. BTW LiLo is going to do a Netflix film. I hope Mickey will teach LiLo how to slowly make a comeback like both he and RDJ did of course.

@@hey-zel I hope so! At least I feel like we’re on the right track. Especially after everything that went on this year, it just feels tiresome and archaic to focus on bodies at this point. There is so much beauty in every body, and I feel like the younger generation is finally seeing this and pushing us forward. It’s enough to give me hope, at least?
The skinny worshipping of the 2000s was so toxic. I was actually thin back then and I thought I was so fat. I documented every calorie I consumed and printed out pictures of Lindsay, Nicole, Emma Watson, and Adriana Lima and glued them to the inside of my binders so I would be inspired not to eat
@@lyzzlyzzy1023 I was like 9 back then and I wasn't mature enough to realize that it's just plain toxic and unhealthy attitude. Don't forget it was the beauty standart (unfortunately).
Omg, same. I was perfectly healthy and perfectly fine at 13/14 in 2005. I had an eating disorder because of this. The things I wish I could tell the younger me. ❤️🩹
For me it was my mom. At some point she constantly commented on my eating, and when I tried to argue back, saying my BMI was in normal weight (yes I know BMI's usefulness is questionable) she told me the doctors must be wrong. Sure I was on the higher end but who cares, you're my mom and this is my home, you're supposed to love me and this is supposed to be a safe place. The fact that I was like 5-6 years old during her peak but I saw her as this complete icon on my tv screen not knowing what the hell was going on in the background
More than the attitude and things Lindsay did, I'm more grossed out by all the adults that took advantage of her. I can't help but think of all the men she slept with at age of nineteen (and even younger) that were almost twice her age. And it grosses me out so much. All the criticism went to her and yet none of the eyes turned to look at the others. It's honestly so much bullshit. I'm at minute 19 in your video and I literally just realized the things you told before that were before her turning 21. Like, what the hell.
Lindsay was no angel (even had a scrapped album titled "nobody's angel") ... She made her choices, and bragged about them. Just because she was younger doesn't make her a victim.

As a 29 year old Millenial, I look back into this time with sheer horror. It was intense and so much going on. I couldn’t vocalize it back then due to growing up extremely sheltered and ignorant (child of immigrants) living in suburban communities. It seemed like everyone was sexualizing young women and expecting so much out of us. It was bad. It felt like society was losing control of everything but one thing life always guarantees is the young and the beautiful. At least delight in that those years said. It was a stressful social and entertainment climate. It also seemed everyone was trying to be as trashy as possible and grow up so fast. Our mothers were trying to suffocate us into quiet while men were sort of desperate for stupid versions of us. This whole era was a mess tbh. And you know what’s worse about it...I bet the majority of us are just realizing NOW (or in the last five years or so) WHY the time felt as such. We were being gaslighted at how bad the tides had turned for us in society in more ways than one. And the media was trying to distract us from it all through celebrity and music. I even distinctively remember even the tone of music changed from 2008-2012 from rebelling against the machine of life to figuring out how to have fun as much as possible. As if to numb us. Not feel sad but to feel toxic positivity until we couldn’t get up anymore. In some ways it worked. But I’m grateful because despite COVID, I have to say things have started to feel better as we now have control of our own narrative I think. I especially love the younger generation. It seems like their parents allowed them to be free in a way many of us weren’t. I look back into this 2000s era with sheer disappointment and alarm.
Interesting comment. I was born the first year of this century (July 29 2000 is my exact bday) and I was a kid during this and i remember hearing about the tabloids and how my mom and grandma would gossip and while i do feel alot of nostalgia for this era I also see how much bigotry and toxicity ran wild during this time. I have gotten into watching TV shows the last 5 years and i have been going through alot of older shows and some of the shit i have seen would cause alot of controversy today (like even bigger) and while social media can be very toxic it does give people more control of their stories and platforms to speak their minds

Ali Lohan went to my private high school for a couple of months and dropped out. She was hardly there but all the girls were nasty to her and like little leeches. Lindsey was bullied out of Hollywood. She had potential but the drugs and the drinking has washed her away, lots of child actors are abused by costars or their agents and it will do permanent damage. Her turning to drugs was probably her escape and coming back to Hollywood after rehab each time caused ptsd for her and triggered her to drink. It’s super sad and they choose who stays in the Hollywood loop and they either kill or throw out the people they don’t want.
as someone who was 8/9 at the time, it's crazy to learn this was all happening when she was still a teenager. i really thought she was 25 dealing with all this.
That was the moment I knew Oprah was the scariest woman on this earth. Business mentality with money wrath... Should have touched more on the Oprah show , it really showed real Lindsay
Lindsay deserves some serious apologies. I'd probably be a hot damn mess if I were treated the way she was... Especially from suuuuuuch a young age! Just icky and not okay.
i feel so bad because it seems like a lot of older men decided to date her when she was barely legal. and like, age gaps aren't always a bad thing, but when you are that young and your partner is 10+ years older than you, you are at completely different stages of your life and it creates a power imbalance
Yes, I think it entirely depends on the mind set and maturity of both parties. I'm 22, my boyfriend is 43, and because of our individual personalities, we have a very equal, balanced, happy relationship. Me and him both can understand how our relationship is not the norm, and how an age gap like ours is often a red flag for something not being kosher.
Would you ever consider doing a video or maybe even a series on Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen? I know you're a little younger than me so their rise may have been before your time, but the way they dominated EVERYTHING in the 90's and 2000's deserves to be highlighted! TV, movies, toys, dolls, clothes, and all their different book series! The "brand" of the Olsen twins was one of the biggest and longest running pop culture moments of our time! I'd love to see your take on it.
I was born in 2004, so I never really got to realize just how big the Olsen twins were but I have heard that there was a website that was counting down to the Olsen twins turning 18.
@@kittykittybangbang9367 there were count downs to basically everyone’s 18th birthdays in the early 00’s. Grown men just waiting until they became “legal”. Look at Wilmer Valderrama he went after both Lindsey and Demi when they were under age but didn’t start “dating” until they just turned 18.
I hope Lindsay plays a mother, does horror movies or a musical!! She has so much potential even after all these years. She has the hype to make a big comeback!
I don't think she even wants to comeback judging from some comments she's made on social media over the past year (and deleted) like how she doesn't feel comfortable or safe going back to the Hollywood environment and stuff idk I'd love to see her try a proper comeback but I don't see her ever moving back to the US full time and she does seem to be in a great space (happy and healthy) in Dubai lately so :/
So glad that nowadays when a starlet has drug abuse issues (Demi lovato for example) she’s treated with more empathy & people in the press wish for her recovery. Lindsay was met with nothing but harassment and insults from the press and her peers who were equally as messy, I can’t imagine how much harder that must have made it for her to recover.
God this was horrifying to watch... Being a teenage girl in mid to late 00s I'm so happy I steered away from from tabloids media attention about young female stars. I think that would have fucked me up taking that in. But God the amount of women my age following this as teens I hate to think the amount of damage that was done. And it's all stemmed from misogyny and older men having control in these women's lives - her father, to men grooming, to Perez.
Maybe not in the near future... I feel like all the bad rep she got from her "wild days" still affects her image now. She went from being an A-lister in the 2000s to just probably a B-lister nowadays so I don't see that sort of opportunity coming her way soon. It's gonna take a lot of effort to build her image up again but I very much hope that she'd come back 😭 I really used to look up her stories and felt so sad about how she wasted that potential! She could've been one of the biggest actress of her generation (like Scarlett since they have similar career paths)
@Karl M I agree with you Karl M Lilo should try to Redeem herself like RDJ aka Robert Downey Jr style. I also really hope that Wesley Snipes play Blade again.
@Karl M Agreed! RDJ really went from THAT to one of the most loved actors nowadays. I hope LiLo can have that same reputation too. She deserves so much more 😢
You should do a deep dive of Selena and Demi’s drama that was blown way out of proportion by the media all the way up until Demi’s finsta that kinda confirmed the beef
It seemed really one sided Selena never said anything bad about Demi and even praised her when she sang at the Grammys but Demi’s finest being like dedicated to Selena hate?? Like girl get a therapist
I feel bad for Lindsay. She was so young and she needed help, the adults in her life seem to just want to take advantage of her. The press didn’t view her as a kid but an object for their magazines and for money.
Lindsay was so funny on the Australian masked singer she clearly didn't know who any of the celebrities were but she seemed like she was having a good time regardless lmao
It's honestly such a sad case. Imagine barely being an adult and having to deal with the worlds judgement, as well as a difficult home life. It's no wonder she struggled so much with drugs - it was the only source of a break from all that chaos, stress and pressure.
seriously. Its hard enough being young and female in an extremely misogyistic society. Privleged people dont know what its like to deal with a shitty home life. When your whole foundation is thrown off youre gonna do anything to be able to move past that or at least avoid it even if its drugs, excess social behavior. the way she was was completley normal

The tabloid culture was really terrible, and Lindsay needed a strong adult figure throughout her life who showed her love, set her boundaries, taught her discipline and HELPED her when she showed mental health issues (remember addiction is an illness). Throughout her life. I don't think she had one.
I rung up lindsey lohan years ago (she was blonde at the time for time reference) and she was soo kind and so sweet. She thanked me multiple times. She bought sneakers for her brother and when I was done, she went out of her way looking for the sales associate assisting her so she can thank her. can we talk about “just my luck” when I was a kid it was a good movie, they had comedy, a love story, and a funny twist on the whole “main character” vibe. Idkw it got so much hate smh.
People didn't really know what to make of it. It was trying to be marketed as a rom com/date movie from the director of How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, but the trailers and ads made it look very juvenile. The plot of the movie hinged on a tame little kiss. It was desperately, almost forcibly, being marketed towards an older crowd for a potential date night movie and even got a PG-13 rating, but the trailers made it seem like it was a movie for pre-teen girls. It wasn't sure who its target audience was, so it drew in neither demographic. It looked too mature for Lohan's main fan base at the time (girls ages 5-12), but too immature for the demographic it was trying to bring in (young adults/couples). It was also drawing in tons of negative publicity way before its release because Lindsay was partying up a storm during filming (she'd literally be partying all night long every single night when she had to be on set at 7:30am the next morning...) and causing a lot of problems on set because of it (showing up several hours late/super hungover, being very bitchy to costars and crew, etc). It also got an odd release date for a romantic comedy. It opened in May against summer blockbuster movies that people were flocking to, and it just got lost in the mix. On top of that, the movie got really bad reviews from critics. Most critics thought it was silly and uninspired, and too slapstick and dumbed down. So, all those factors combined= box office flop.
I can't imagine all the staff she's gotten fired or hurt, all the people who have gotten hurt by her wreckles driving and meanwhile she paid herself out of almost all of it.
Like..sure she was a victim of abuse and didn't have the support she needed and people absolutely profited off her addictions, but that doesn't excuse her behavior.. especially as an adult now.
Watching this in 2022 after her Netflix Christmas movie was released and I’m honestly still holding out hope that she will be able to make more enjoyable movies and have a proper acting comeback. She would be great in more rom-coms, she has always been so talented, I was always rooting for her.

More than the attitude and things Lindsay did, I'm more grossed out by all the adults that took advantage of her.
Yea it was a messy time

Interesting comment. I was born the first year of this century (July 29 2000 is my exact bday) and I was a kid during this and i remember hearing about the tabloids and how my mom and grandma would gossip and while i do feel alot of nostalgia for this era I also see how much bigotry and toxicity ran wild during this time. I have gotten into watching TV shows the last 5 years and i have been going through alot of older shows and some of the shit i have seen would cause alot of controversy today (like even bigger) and while social media can be very toxic it does give people more control of their stories and platforms to speak their minds

When Oprah congratulates her on her sobriety and Lindsay starts balling😢 Ngl that breaks my heart for her💔
At least she didn’t end up in a conservatorship or something like Britney. That environment made them sick.
She nearly ended up in C-ship, but her father stopped it all.
@@kristynahorackova9773 wow for once Michael Lohan is not completely useless
tbh a conservatorship might have actually helped to preserve her money she literally spent it all in the early 2000s
@@vivaglambeauty101AllieFarrell but she's still making money tho, she has a nice house in Dubai and she has a clothing and jewelry line there.
@@vivaglambeauty101AllieFarrell yes but it would be in exchange of her freedom. In my opinion a conservatorship is worse than having no money. Because, what’s good about money when you can’t even spend it freely, can’t vote, drive, marry and have to ask permission to your father at nearly 40 years old.
Poor girl, everyone in her life failed her
I never realized how young Lindsey was when all this happened! That makes me sad
I know this has been a year since posting this but Lindsay at this point needs a personal driver lmao
I’m crying over “sniffle snacks” 😭😂😂😂
Addiction is a disease...this is so incredibly sad.
Please do one about Anna Nicole Smith, Amanda Bynes, and of course Britney Spears 🖤
Yesss Anna!
Those Criss Angel × Paris pictures were a fcking jump scare! I just choked on my coffee. Jesus
The Bruce Willis headline made me gasp - alone in my apartment.
WTF Bruce?!
Her parents failed her by supplying her with no guidance and it makes me so sad :(
This documentary was FIREEEE by the way. The fact that you made a channel to put out this content is awesome. Thanks for compiling this list and editing the video. Very entertaining, and your personality really suits this style of content!
She literally plagiarized everything from the blog she links in her bio. She should take the video down tbh
@@jennarink3274 some people don't want to look up an old blog post to read up on this info? She is simply taking what information she has learnt from research and informing people using a more current popular platform. There is nothing wrong with that! Plus she is giving credit to the original source so I don't see the issue.
@@jennarink3274 How did she plagiarise it? She uses that amongst other websites as a source for these videos AND always gives credit.
Please do it on the Girls Next Door and their relationship with Hugh Hefner. They were iconic in the early 2000’s!
One
omggggg my absolute favorite show growing up !! that’s a good idea!!
puke-onic maybe
I think it's super important to remember that sobriety is a tough and non-linear process that most of us will never fully understand. I relate to being kinda annoyed each time she slipped back into doing drugs because she is so so talented but maybe cut her a little slack :)
So I was a teen in the late 90s and in my early 20s in the early 00s (I’m probably an older sub lol) and it really makes me sad to revisit how overly focused society was on people being super skinny. I still feel like a lot of my body dysmorphia issues stem from being fed those messages so much during that time. I’m so glad things have changed so much even though we still have a way to go 👍🏻
It still blows my mind how on Tumblr, people would encourage each other to have ED’s (like the “pro-Ana” blogs). So glad there’s not really stuff like that anymore due to stricter rules
I was surprised because of her bad reputation but I've been a fan of hers ever since.
Lindsey is/was really talented. I agree that things would’ve turned out differently for her if she always had people like Oprah in her life
It’s crazy how much the early 2000s ruined so many young women’s lives.
" how you say hi in Europe " no. Not all Europeans kiss to say hi, that's a French thing.
~ sincerely, a German European
It’s definitely done in way more than France but yeah not all
Actually not just a French thing
@@raneemm.5225 Where else?
@@NotAnotherKuromi basically all of the middle east
I mean, at least all of Southern Europe says hi like that, not just the French 😂
The fact you listed Danny gonzalez and the look a like photo next to Justin Bieber and Harry styles is on another level of Greg
"Lindsay lohan wasn't robbed, house just dirty" 💀💀💀💀
can we talk about “just my luck” when I was a kid it was a good movie, they had comedy, a love story, and a funny twist on the whole “main character” vibe. Idkw it got so much hate smh.
Same! It was such a cute movie, it didn’t deserve hate
It was a cute movie. Nothing brilliant, but then how many movies are?
she was getting negative press from the media and her public image had drastically changed compared to her Mean Girls days.
Agreed, I feel like they had bias when they seen her "partying".
She would be great in more rom-coms, she has always been so talented, I was always rooting for her.
why’d i tear up at the scene with lindsay and oprah? ☹️
SAME
I think it’s so crazy that nowadays teens faves put all their business out on social media and we had to be content with fanfics and those zanessa/TH-cam videos lmaoo
Lmao yesss we had to DIG for the tea, it was all hearsay. Nowadays all of the tea is out in the open.
It’s crazy how regular folks or poc would have served SO much jail time regardless of money if they did half of what Lindsay did this is crazy ! Thank you for all of your effort in this research loved it
I'm saying.......
I’m of the opinion that adiction shouldn’t be criminalized in the first place. These people need help
@@MissCaraMint umm.. what?
@@mikehunt7360 The crimes these people commit are non-violent drug related crimes. People are often arrested for simply having a small amount of drugs with no intent to distribution. Regardless of whether they are rich or poor, white or poc, they pose no danger to society and need help not percecution. The fact that regular folks as op calls them would have served so much jail time, doesn’t mean Linsey should be punished harder, but rather demonstrates how badly regular folks are treated in the first place. This is why I mentioned decriminalization.
for only being a year old video it’s terrifying to me how 2 people mentioned, Aaron Carter (part 1) and Takeoff are both deceased.
You know what I did like was that it wasn’t back then a big deal that Lindsey was dating a woman. I thought that was so cool! No one was like being homophobic about that, that I remember
