When I heard her say, "Please delete that photo, I NEED to look beautiful, that isn't a good shot" my heart dropped :-( it really is crazy to hear someone that you viewed as so confident and care-free as a kid really be so insecure and struggling with body dysmorphia. I have so much love for Amanda and her story!

I felt so bad for her. Regardless of drug use or mistakes made or whatever, she looked so vulnerable and didn't have anyone to defend her from the look of it... How many times does someone have to say "please no!" before they're allowed to use whatever means necessary to defend themselves. Especially back before there was instagram and other forms of social media. It was absolutely disgusting. One of the good things about social media is that most paparazzi lost their jobs. There really isn't much need for it anymore especially since so many celebrities are on platforms like instagram, twitter, snapchat etc. I feel like what happened to Britney in the early aughts wouldn't have happened if we'd had all this technology back then and I'm 36 so I remember that time period very very well. If I was a regular person seeing them harass someone like that regardless if it’s a celeb I’d be like ummm who tf do you think you are? Watching that guy be so dramatic with Amanda gave me the urge to punch him in the throat. Based on that video I truly don’t believe she got violent with him/scratched him like he says she did, you would’ve heard a lot more tumble and rumble with the camera, not just seeing it move around, and also based on the human body and how it reacts she would’ve looked much more disheveled and shaken with adrenaline when she was walking away if she got physical like he said. I think she was just trying to get him to delete the photo and he played the ultimate victim. Paparazzi make me sick sometimes man.

    • @iPhoneRepairGirl
      @iPhoneRepairGirl 3 ปีที่แล้ว +79

I agree, & I think a part of what we’ve seen of her that has appeared as questionable behavior, has been her reverting back to the things that gained her popularity and love and support as a child. Like her wearing eccentric wigs, her saying things that are obviously off-the-wall, etc seems to me like she had some drug-induced mania which led her to trying to get back that love & support from her childhood the public gave her, in some of the same ways. Like the Amanda Show was all her doing & saying wacky off the wall things, so I think she tried being goofy again hoping it would read as funny or wholesome & instead as an adult we the public without context took it as bizarre, sometimes seemingly deranged behavior. I just keep thinking about how she was taught, trained, and paid to behave in a way all throughout her childhood that when she taps into as an adult, just like any regular person going through high stress periods can revert back to their childhood survival skills to cope, it comes across as something else. A lot of people who are addicted to drugs basically function socially the same as they did as children, & you can literally see it in Amanda’s case.

Paparazzis are disgusting. Now that we have tiktok which brought Hollywood fix into the light where grown men follow teenagers or young adult and ask personal questions where they’re literally trying to run away or are scared or frighten by them. The fact that there are laws that allow basically stalking is sad. It’s why so many rumors are going on.

Legally she didn't though. I'm surprised to see that nearly all the comments are about her reaction to the paps.
Unfortunately; morals; sympathy; and feelings aren't considered in law.
Ultimately it's seen as; he had a lawful right to take those photos, she was in public.
Whether what he said, although sounding positive imo (could've been sarcastic to provoke a response) was still ultimately all legal.
So, grabbing the camera, and then (allegedly) scratching him? No, she didn't have every right?
I sympathise with what she was going through and knowing all that, I would wish people would afford her that leeway but here she then had a go at the guy? It's still wrong, still be responsible for your actions, and could even see it as it playing into their favour- he then writes a story about her assaulting him.
Surprised at the amount of comments from people justifying her actions because:- 'feelings'

You're so right.. And after that thing with Britney Spears.. Nobody should say something like this so easily. Same thing with the paparazzi later: she asked him to stop so often, he wasn't interested in her private space or when she felt uncomfortable, so I can understand her reaction

I read that Brian Wilson and Mickey Rooney were placed under conservatorships, although it was after the abuse in their personal lives - Wilson from his father and doctor and Rooney from one of his wives and stepsons - came to light. And apparently prior to being placed in a conservatorship under his family members, Wilson's doctor manipulated him and controlled all aspects of his life.

She’s so gorgeous and her comedic personality is wonderful. Growing up watching her I would dream about being just like her. I wanted to be pretty and funny. 9:20 I had a friend die from mono so I feel compelled to say this: I know this is an "old" video and very few people will see my comment, but I want to clarify something.
Despite the nickname, mono has been known to be contagious via airborne spread for nearly 20 years in the medical community.
I won't go into details on how it caused me to lose my friend (unless someone asks for details below) but it was not weight loss such as Amanda experienced.
To summarize; you can get mono regardless of saliva exchange, and it is something to address and monitor by a professional until *all* symptoms are gone.

@@beccabowen4292 I appreciate you taking the time to read all of that. I can relate to long hospital stays (though most were after I turned 18) however, I can imagine an extra level of awful if you didn't have "a parent or guardian" with you the entire time - the "we'll need to speak with your parents first" is still a common deflection from having to anything beyond the bare minimum.
I know this because they still try it on *me* - because I LOOK young (especially in a tent of a hospital gown) but FFS my birthdate is on my wristband, the chart on my bed (which have to pick up an initial to confirm they checked in on me) AND my medical file.
      ----

I grew up watching her on the Amanda show and even on what I like about you I watched all of her movies ... I was the biggest fan,, to see somebody that I love and genuinely looked up to end up spiraling due to lack of help and resources makes me just sick.. I could relate with her on a lot of topics and it’s sad that everybody makes Amanda out to be some animal,- but how do you think they would feel if they were in the same position she was... I honestly hope that soon Amanda gets help and people wake the fuck up and start treating this woman like a normal person and not like some animal because this woman is long overdue with the help that she deserves people should have been giving her that and giving her respect. bro CELEBRITIES were disrespecting her on Twitter. THE SAME WHO PREACH MENTAL HEALTH NOW AND DAYS! ...and didn’t people think by the tweets that she was sending out- the videos-and the way that she LOOKED, that this woman was not coherent?? didn’t people stop to think let me check on her and be real abt it?

@@bigblunts3577 People romanticize mental health issues and EDs and make it seem all pretty and cute. When I was acting like every character from skins people were like ohh she's mysterious, I can fix her and shit. When the real stuff hit and I started spiraling everyone abandoned me and I had to pick myself up. I wish she had someone, all eyes were on her, no genuine people around her or even a moment to herself to self reflect with all the paparazzi. If you abuse drugs non stop you are not yourself and I think the fact she can afford to forever have a stash will tempt her forever. I always noticed something off about her even when she was a child. My friends all loved seeing her on tv but I always thought it was strange that she acted crazy hyper on every show. It didn't seem normal. There was an underlying issue that everyone ignored. Even during interviews in her early years, she was always jittery and doesn't seem all there. I think she has always struggled with mental issues even as a child and she reached her breaking point as an adult. It's so sad that adults in her life failed her because they were too busy making $$$
