You need to write a book! Include excerpts from your grandmother’s scrapbook and tales from the foster kids, etc. Maybe wait until your husband graduates. 😊❤

Thank you, I agree. If you are lucky enough to have a wonderful grandparent, it is such a gift she was my only grandparent but she was so amazing that she made up for any lack of family we may have had in numbers. She is alive as a part of me. So much of who I am is because of her.

I recently found your channel and am enjoying your videos. Your tag line “We can make that” reminded me of my beloved sister, Gaye. We would see an idea and say to each other “we can make that” and then have the fun of tracking down the supplies needed. Maybe ten percent of the projects were completed-the enjoyment for us was the shopping for the materials.

I agree with going to school and working. Years ago, I was a full time student, studying to be a nurse. 5 days a week, them I had to work 2 12 hour shifts on the weekend. I did this while being a single mom of 4. My mom was so awesome, I couldn't have done it without her.

I love how everything turned out. You and your husband are such hard workers. Nice memories of you and your grandmother. I have a grown granddaughter that loves my classic traditional style. I noticed she has copied my paint choices. I remember Trading Spaces. The one that stands out when the female designer made a backsplash out of wine labels for a Mormon couple that did not drink😩

I’m amazed how everything looks!! Thanks for sharing that shellac comes in a can. I have some spray, but my piece is already inside. It’s a huge dining room table and it has a stain where my son-in-law put down a can and it rusted and left this bluish stain. I love your laugh.

I appreciate your husband's persistence and also that you worked together on the furniture, which turned out to be beautiful, again. My father comes from such a poor family that he had to work at 14. He became a turner's assistant. Then, as an adult, when I was born, he completed his high school diploma and college, because he always wanted to continue his education. He also worked full-time. What my parents went through is unbelievable for me, I am a spoiled millennial. :D

Cory, I love your shows. All of the different ones whether you’re making crafts, stocking your store, going to bins, or redoing furniture! I love how you share your life with us. You are a very genuine, caring person. I’m so relieved that you wear the respirator; however, I worry for your eyes not being protected. When you were sanding the bondo on the first piece, I could see all the dust from the furniture & dried bondo flying into your face. Take care. You’re a lovely person. 🥰🥰🥰
PS I wrote this comment before I watched the part where you said you just purchased a full face mask! I’m very thankful you did that! 🙏🏼♥️🙏🏼

I adore your plates! I'm all about shabby chic and farm house decore also. Go figure, we live on a farmette, lol! I love your furniture over hauls! I prefer to use Dixie Belle on my personal furniture. That again goes to my shabby chic, farm house decor, lol! I'm really enjoying watching! ❤❤❤

Beautiful job on all the pieces you did, maybe instead of the enamel paint because its so hard on your respiratory system. I would recommend milk paint that can be thinned down and sprayed.

My first gallon of paint cost me under $8! Yes, I walked into the local hardware store with a wooden puzzle piece in the shape of a pig , and said "here, I want a gallon of paint in this color, make it be so", and he did. I thought I was being a bit spendy, but I also thought it was glamorous. This was in the very late 80's, and it astounds me now to go for paint and spend close to a hundred dollars for a gallon of custom pain. And if I walked in now with that pig, I would be laughed RIGHT out of the store. I think your booth looks great! What's wrong with shoppers???

You Grandmother sounds like my kind of people (as we say here in North Carolina). What good memories and what a good keepsake that scrapbook type record is for you. I am probably as old as your grandmother would be and I do remember when you knew your neighbor and when you helped each other. I grew up on a tobacco farm and we ‘swapped’ labor with the neighbors. We helped them on their ‘barning’ day and they helped us on ours. No time was kept and no money changed hands-we just helped each other. Corey, I wish you were my neighbor. You could help me decorate and I could babysit for you because I have children, but no grandchildren. I love when you talk about your family history and I love everything you and your husband do. What your husband is doing is HARD. I was married and had 2 children by age 19. A freak accident made me an uneducated widow at age 24. So, for the next ten years I worked, went to school, raised children and tried to be mother and daddy to 2 small boys. And it was rough. That being said, I always admire young people trying to better themselves with education! I love to hear you talk about your Grandmother and tell those special stories. Your beadboard rack is special and so pretty. Love all the displayed pieces. Sorry for the bio, just really related to a lot of what you were saying. Good luck with rearranging your booth!

Sarah, thank you so much for sharing your story. My grandma is probably much older than you. She was born is 1927 but has a similar life story. She grew up the adopted daughter of a farm foreman. I think they did mostly fruit trees and were in Central California. She was the youngest of 12 or 13 children. Her mother gave her away to her sister and died 2 years after she was born. All of her siblings were split between family and an orphanage. It is very sad! But she grew up with her biological aunt as a mother and loved her "father" dearly which was her uncle in reality. She had 7 children and her husband died of the Hong Kong flu in his 40s. I am so sorry about the sudden loss if your husband and how hard life must have been for you and your boys. I wish we were neighbors, too. I'd love to hear you stories and help you decorate.

Corey, so sweet of you to answer my long comment. Your Grandmother’s story is so sad. She would be about 15 years older than me. What a strong woman she must have been! I think it’s wonderful that you have and cherish your memories of her. Till next week!

I use battery powered fairy lights ,candles ,and the candlesticks with a little gold base, which I paint, from the dollar tree. The dollar tree batteries last one month without turning them off. I just replace batteries the first of every month. I have also used rechargeable batteries too. Lighting makes a big difference. I also learned early on in booth retail,(started with 1 booth 23 years ago and have 4 now) that packing them full and I mean full and having baskets of small baggies of jewelry or stickers or drawer knobs or boxes with art that people have to step into your space to look thru makes them feel like they are treasure hunting. I have sold thousands of $2-$5 magnets of miniature kitchen utensils (tea kettles whisks, mixers, cheese graters, rolling pins ) people love all things miniature! I have 4-6 boxes, baskets or spinning displays that people have to rotate to see what is on each side in every booth.
When you think your booth is full add 50 more things. You CAN do it without it looking cluttered. Also use those risers you love so much to create dimension and space for more stuff. People won’t step into your space if they can see everything from the isle.
