This is an amazing boat but the one problem is this is not great for summer/equator use since all the exposed aluminum will get very hot and you will burn yourself and the ac will eat your range.
Well, can add this to list of things I'll never own unless I win the lotto, but will definitely be at the top of the list of things to get if I ever do win it
After seeing other walk-through of this yacht, I now realize the importance of knowing how best to present it in a way that's both informative and interesting to the viewer/potential customer. Great review/walk-through of a really fascinating yacht. Certainly one of a few yachts that are serious explorer candidates in this size range. Will keep an eye out for the sea trial and put this yacht at the top of the wish list.
Fantastic review of an incredible yacht. I love the detail you pack into the episodes, particularly on the ships systems, which makes this one of the best boat channels out there. I hadn't actually registered this was a UK boat until near the end when I re-checked the title - its really hard to square the warm and inviting interior with the rugged exterior and its massively impressive as a result. One of the most interesting and thoughtful boats I've seen reviewed anywhere - an amazing machine.
Wow! I'm just 4 minutes in the video and I'm already impressed. Looks like a life proof boat on steroids. The best boat I've seen so far for my taste. Even the price tag at around 7 million (which I don't have yet) seems reasonable. Can't wait to see more of this fantastic vessel.
My Dad used to have a 55 Ft Symbol that he used to cruise the west coast from California to Alaska. We would have never seen him again if he had this boat.
@@jeffmcallister7040 I'm pretty sure that's an AI chatbot glitching. Or someone with a mental illness. But probably a chatbot. These are wierd times we live in, be wary.
Only been watching yacht video for about 3 months now, but I keep coming back to this Explorer, it is my favorite. Love the blend of functionality with decor and hominess. Absolutely makes the most sense to me out of all the videos I've seen.
Great tour! Have seen other videos of the Arksen, and am more impressed with them every time I get a tour. It would be a great life to put this to its best use.
beautiful yacht. the concept is lifted from the Dashew FPB concept but im glad arkson and a couple other companies are continuing with his ideas. the scania engines seem an odd choice though. and i cant help but think that the aliminum must get blazing hot under foot in th equatorial sun. yes its well insulated but it must be scorching to the bare foot. very well presented as usual Jack. really looking forward to the sea trial.
Beautiful amazing boat. One day I will be able to afford it. Great video, I love the fact that you’re not afraid of comparing it to other manufacturers. That’s what makes a great salesman, everybody does other things better and to ignore those is a disservice to your customers.
Its hard not to see the Dashew FPB influence in this boat, but teken to a higher level of refinement, especially the interior. The FPBs seem so spartain inside, whike this is warm and inviting with a lot of thought invested. Captain’s quarters by the engineering space is a great idea. Range is outstanding, and the ability to get to 14knts in a pinch will let skirt a lot of unexpected bad weather.
Agreed, however, the quality of much of the exposed welding is a far cry from what you would see on a Dashew. Dashew certainly has the qualities where they count. I am amazed given all the welding is exposed that they didn’t do a better job.
Habe to disagree. Most FPB of which you find footage are the 64s. They have been commissioned ca. 20 years ago. If you want to compare the interior compare to 78, especially cochise, or the FPB 97 Iceberg. Their interior is at least on rhe same level regarding quality and feel. Regarding thoughts put into Arksen: no. Zhey just took the Dashew Design and changed it in a way that shows, how little they understood the original design. Range: 7000nm ist okay, but 9kn is quite underwhelming. Iceberg is significantly faster. Arksen’s top speed is Iceberg‘s cruising speed. Dropped back to 9kn the range will be much bigger than 7000nm. All in all the Arksen is a knock off. A cheap knock off of the original FPB design.
Well presented, as always! A most excellent explorer vessel. You could actually live on this beauty. The sense of tensile strength and storm proofing build, is very impressive. You would feel safe in this explorer; whether in calm or rough seas. Definitely a serious consideration if I decided to go the explorer way. Very impressive. Regards KMW
Unlike a typical superyacht i would always respect someone who went this route and set off for adventure rather than just bobbing around the med like a tosser. This is a real ship, it would be an incredible life to take this on a world tour.
A very interesting yacht, not keen on the bare Aluminium look on the outside but then it is not meant to be a pretty Monaco poser. Love the interior, lots of space and a good layout and very impressive engine room and associated specs. Great tour Jack thank you.
My goodness, this is a LOT of boat. The engine room was amazing! I'm looking for a smaller 1-person solo yacht but this is a really neat tour to see. I am a landlubber for sure, I don't know what I'd do. This is a lot of boat for me but I enjoyed it anyway. I am learning a lot. I am going to subscribe. It's wonderful seeing such amazing workmanship.
What a fantastic tour, Jack. Absolutely phenomenal beasty...and so was the boat arf arf. Fascinating. I noticed that you mentioned Bering as being a competitor for stylish interiors (and they are imo, plus the very high quality build of their explorer yachts) but Arksen seem to be just as impressive with build/redundancy/black and grey water treatment etcetc....the list goes on....and interiors too. Very interesting indeed and thank you to you and the team for that.
Wow amazing boat , nice to see a world cruiser that's not a Nordhavn or Bering , may have some external finishes done , but overall its just about perfect, as always an excellent tour , look forward to the sea trial , please make it on a rough day 🫣
Another excellent video Jack! Any chance you might get aboard the Naval Yachts XPM 85? That seems like the most direct competitor to this boat, and I'd love to hear your opinions as to the differences and similarities.
Looks like a great explorer yacht with a decent range. I know that an all aluminum boat has its advantages like reduced weight as compared to steel which makes the boat faster, as well as preventing the boat from capsizing. My question is: Did they use the marine-grade aluminum 5052 for optimal durability, or the more cost-effective but less durable 6061, in the construction of this particular yacht?
Amazing! Thank you for sharing this video. She is magnificent & beautiful! She is really loaded for pleasure and will be most useful in Papua New Guinea. Her three level decks is ideal & a brilliant feature. Thank you for the well presented views of her.
Jack, she is impressive. Thanks for the great tour. The one question I have is whether she can be built with more beam or not. I'd like to think that with 3-4 more feet of beam I could have a full beam master with the cabin assigned to the captain being relocated forward to the bow of the ship. And that I might be able to add more fuel capacity as well (perhaps even a wing engine also).
Very detailed, very well appointed, leave it to the Brits to never forget their nautical, utilitarian and history in the design. The interior decor is a little light and fluffy for my personal tastes, but it is a very nice boat.
Thank you for an impressive walk through of an impressive yacht. I like the way you presented it, and, being a retired US Navy sailor, I appreciate the redundancies in the engineering spaces, including hand pumps, and those are some serious water tight doors. I like it that you can also see at a glance if any of those doors are open from various displays. Its a very nice boat that would go nicely with my EarthRoamer SX. ( just kidding about the EarthRoamer, lol).
What an interesting boat, great review Jack. Loving the huge on-deck tender, although seeing a few feet being stubbed on the deck lashings. The inside is cracking! Just need a review of Brave Challenger in the background of the shots now!
I like Arksen they are building amazing ship. Recycled aluminum used in building the boat. She has safety and comfort built in, for any part of the world any type weather or sea conditions. The gallery, dining, seating or relaxing area are homely and the colour decore are relaxing. As is the master cabin and guest accomodations again relaxing, restful decor. Each cabin had it own heads. The crew areas are again comfortable and each cabin have their of own heads, laundry room. Overall she is a versatile boat planned to meet many different weather and sea conditions, she very economic in her use of fuel. She is made yo be sble to repair if something goes wrong with back ups until you can somewhere to do repairs. She is amazing
A really excellent presentation of an excellent boat, well done! My only regret was that the presentation could have gone on longer, but that was because I enjoyed the video so much. I would love to see you do a sea trial and indeed more. P
Dream ship, just a beauty. I also like the philosophy of this company. Can you do a review of the Arksen 65? I haven’t seen a full review yet but it looks really interesting from the little bits I’ve seen.
Interesting tour. Thanks. If you add some finishing, add teak deck or articiteak this boat would be still for rough weather but more beautiful and stylish.
Imagine you actually have to decide between a Nordhavn, a Bering and this beautiful and clever explorer. Thank god I can admire them all and don't have to chose between. I'm not sure I could.

@@WillBreitholtz1 looks more like a bad copy to me. Comparde to FPB 97 Iceberg the Arksen is an underperformer on every level
@@GroppeljohannKlotenkempe-vr6ohit's actually better, the iceberg could only go 7000 nm at 7 knots not 9. And it used more fuel to do so.
