How about giving it up for my sidekick today? Also I know you are dying to know more about the install and how to set the wastegate, and all that goodies. Dont worry we will dive deep into all that.
Love to see the fam starting to get involved in the humble things! My daughter has been hurting to get into some vids along with dad. Super job little helper!
I would love to see how the internal wastegate performs at only 20 PSI at high RPM. Also interested on the air to water intercooler and why the head spacer. Awesome kit man, never seen an HPA kit before.
HM spends his entire career methodically laying things out and approaching everything logically. Invites his daughter to unboxing, chaos ensues! Absolutely love it!
Definitely love to see the humble family taking part in everything. Your sidekick did awesome! Hopefully we'll see her be your little shop gremlin, getting tools and giving laughs. Id love to be able to do with with my children some day
Charles, the best part of my day was seeing this video. My girls shadow me for everything I do in the garage, yard or house. So awesome to see you brought your helper into the garage today too.
I have the EFR 7163 on my 2015 A3, its a bad ass turbo. The motor is now built, once I upgrade, Ill be going with this turbo. These EFR turbos seem to be pretty damn bulletproof
Really enjoying your videos man. I am a single dad and a mechanic. I bought a b6 a4 Audi and I am currently doing a 3.2vr6 swap and turbo setup. Please please keep everything updated for us if you have time. Subbed and liked BTW
Super excited for the build Charles! You were the one that got me into Volkswagens and have since been keeping mine working like a top. Can't wait for the VRT noises
That's a serious parts haul! When your helper dropped that box I was like 😱, but hopefully nothing fragile. Nice to see kiddo wanting to get involved though. Can't wait to see the build progressing now you have a mountain of parts.
Great video, looking forward to seeing the build. Must say I appreciate the fact that you reply/like 90% of the comments. Not many TH-camrs take the time to do that!
I love the planned(?) , "Holy Shift" box since daughter was helping and couldn't express it upon opening it! That downpipe! DUDE 👀, you Gotta be careful 👀 *video pauses* LOL I would too with mine
"oooo I want a sticker" "... yeah maybe". Sorry sweetie, daddy needs that sticker for the toolbox (isn't that why we buy parts in the first place)? All jokes aside, great to see her in the garage. I love to involve my 5 year old in all of my car projects and maintenance... it doesn't always go as quickly as I'd like but it's such a wonderful hobby to share with my son. keep up the great work Charles.
Good stuff Charles, lots of nice goodies there for You to keep You from getting bored, little lady was very happy with her bubble wrap, it really is the simple things:):)
Yeeeess ! You got an EFR Turbo -Top Notch. I hate that most Vr6-T are build with laggy Garret turbos only to save some money, this thing will spool like hell !
Cute video! Can’t wait to watch you put it all on. Are you going to show putting the block back together and what had to be done to it to withstand the turbo?
I used HPA for my VR6 Mr2 build. The kit was pretty easy to assemble, I did have some trial and error with taking apart the upper chain tensioner to add the extended piston to it (turbo oil feed line), but in the end and 2 new tensioners later, it's all together. Oh and getting the timing right using their gigantic spacer and extended chain, that took some finesse.
So happy for you Charles and jealous at the same time. That kit will be AWESOME when you get it all installed. How much that set you back??? Your helper is adorable. You are blessed my friend
Possibly the bravest thing I've ever seen Charles do. I love my 8y/o son so so much, but if I were unboxing thousands of dollars worth of performance car parts there would be a strict "look but don't touch" rule going on. Hope your heart didn't skip too many beats during that dude! Looking forward to the series.
That turbo looks big enough to swallow little kids, WOW!!. As far as helpers, I think Jason and Paul have some serious competition, she's the best help I've seen you with : )Enjoy your Thanksgiving!
haha what a coincidence, I'm redesigning a few issues with their kit on a customer's mk5 r32 right now..... maybe it'll finally be ready to make serious power once I'm done
Is there a follow up video or series? I look, but I can't find that snail spinning in a car with smoking wheels anywhere! Not the assembly process either. I'd love to see that, pondering on upgrading my vr6 as well.
That is one thicc headspacer. I used to have one on my old stock bottom end vrt golf, but it was nowhere near that thick. Is that a 7:1? Anyway, love all of the parts and your awesome assistant. Looking forward to the build.
Very awesome that you had your daughter in there helping you out. Is it bad that my dad instincts kicked in and I got super nervous when she was picking everything up lol? My kids are super destructive, chances are they would have launched something across the room 😆
Love the content as always. Great helper and greater parts. Pre Christmas unwrapping is the way to go plus a turbo. Quick question i noticed the spec clutch at the end of the video and i have a mk4 gti vr6 with a 3.2 swap. What clutch do you have for the 500whp setup because in the future i plan to go rotrex c38 supercharger for the 3.2 and make mid 400 wheel hp daily. What clutch do you have for your r32 and what do you recommend?
Good Q! this is the stage 3 with their SMF. HPA says it's good to hold the power. I looked at South Bend, and their only clutch option, according to them, was the drag clutch.
HumbleMechanic ok thank you do you think i could get a way with stage two clutch. It holds about 411 ft lbs of torque. And another question i was contemplating on the hpa liquid cool intake manifold however because mine would be a daily do you think i should stick with a regular air to air intercooler to simplify things and less supporting parts to break? What is your opinion on that?
HumbleMechanic got a questions about oil temps. I have a 2018 Passat 2.0t which has the gen. 3 EA888 I’m pretty sure. I’ve seen temps go up to 225 which seems high. Our ‘13 Passat 1.8t was about 10 degrees cooler. Is 225 warmer than would be best??
Hey Charles thanks for sharing information on this old vehicles. But man i have some doubts about going isto turbo on a NA vr6. In this type of conversion do you keep the original ECU? How does the original ecu understands whats going on (more air going in the engine). Regarding the turbo how does the control of it is done? How is done the mariage of all that? Thanks Afonso from Portugal
How about giving it up for my sidekick today? Also I know you are dying to know more about the install and how to set the wastegate, and all that goodies. Dont worry we will dive deep into all that.
Def watching this on Thanksgiving 😂 thanks! Happy Thanksgiving
Did you tell her she was getting a turbo for Christmas 🎄 🤣

Charles and Child is a video series I would watch, it’s supremely adorable and wholesome ❤️❤️
Yes. Adorable. She is a perfect assistant and should be the test driver 😁
2:53 - Charles' stress-o-meter just registered peak numbers !🤣
@@actionrjackson Stress? Wait till she starts dating and wants to borrow the R32.

💯
When you tell a vr6 guy "damn it both my head gaskets failed" and hes just like huh??? 😂
LOL Luckly these HG are pretty good.
I think what confused people the most with my VRT build breakdown was that I only had 1 head.
Charles' face when the kid dropped the box jaja. I'm sure that box had it worst wille in transit :p
Loved the video

Thank you! She said “I think I’ll be in a video like every other week”. Hahaha
Of course man! I can't wait to see what awesome antics you two get up to in the future. Keep up the good work charles!
Oh man, I cant wait for all the videos of the install. This is gonna be so much fun

Just found your channel. Been daily driving my DBP R33 since 2007 (get her with 28k miles). Been dreaming of doing a turbo kit some day
"Daddy, watch this metal snail shell eat rocks.... it's likes them... hehhe!"
The sidekick was full on energy! That's a nice turbo kit. Would love to get one on my 2008 r32.
Can't wait to see the build taking shape!
