So good to see a nice young man using some great working skills these days!!!. Mighty fine job there buddy!!!. I used to love doing this in my younger days!!!. Time and age has changed that!!!. Good luck fella in your welding endeavors!!!!☝️☝️👏👏👏👏😎
Simple and well built. Just what I needed to see. I'm pretty close to getting started on mine. It is all based on a set of antique cast iron warehouse cart wheels and some other cool bits I have laying around.
Not sure what "hot rod" is? Is it the same as hot rolled? Great job on the build. I'll be building a smaller version to fit an existing place in my BBQ area. Thanks for the vid.
Great job. Just wondering is it safe to cook food on the hot rod grill (mild steel)? Should it be chrome or cast iron? Just checking as i am thinking of building one.👍
hi well done on the grill man!! any recommendations on how to get sheet metal at a decent price ? anywhere i look i am close to $1000 alone just on metal material for 16 gauge
Thank you Skylar for the premium work. This grill exceeded my expectations and all the cooks have been excellent. Job well done!
Glad you are enjoying it!

Yes sir it is the same as hot rolled. The place I buy it from calls it hot rod steel.

I have never had problems with it. But I know you can also buy it “pickled” which is supposed to be good for grilling on
Where did you get the plate roller that you used to make the wheel?
I made it, here’s the link if you would like to see how I did it: th-cam.com/video/XGD_NyQ6SRc/w-d-xo.html
Subscription here !!!!!👊👊
Did you use any kind of bearings for the rod or is it just run straight through the holes? Looks smooth, but is it noisy?
It’s a little noisy but a lot less work than putting bearings in it

That’s extremely expensive I built this out of 11 gauge and the sheet costed around $180. I bought mine from the local metal supply.
What the measurements for the legs? and good job on the build too
Thank you! I believe the legs were 18” long.
Nicely done. how much should a fella expect to spend if I had someone make me one of these? Missed welding in high school.....
It depends, you can find prices of custom built ones on the internet ranging from $2,000 to $6,000.
Nice job,
what metal is used?
what type of welder do you use?
Thanks in avance !
I used 11 gauge to build everything
1x2 rectangle
3/4 inch sucker rod
4x8 sheet metal
Expanded metal
1x1 angle iron
1/2 hot rod
And I used a 180 Lincoln mig welder.
How thick is the sheet metal?
11 gauge
That things fat bro!
what kinda saw blade is that
It is a Diabo steel demon and the saw is an evolution. You need a saw that has a certain RPM to run these blades.
Forgot the reinforcement square tubing at the bottom. Js
You sell these?
Yes sir, I do.
