Welding in socks, crocs and shorts. My man! Glad I’m not the only one
Excellent work. You also helped me understand what it is my neighbor may be doing at 11pm about once a week. From my house it sounds like a futuristic war battle, but maybe he's just building a smoker?
If you think that’s a possibility I’d recommend wandering over and strike up a conversation!
Hopefully it’s not a killdozer…
Killdozer possibly
Def a killdozer. Wouldn't hurt to drop off some homemade cookies.
Between the omnipresent woodsmoke and the grinding and sanding in the garage, your neighbors must LOVE you.
Dude, this super cut of things is amazing. Cannot believe you got all this detail into an almost 15min video!
Love the way you kept safety in mind. When using the chop saw just look away when you are cutting so you don’t get any metal in your eyes. But don’t wear safety glasses 😂😂😂
Hopefully a plasma cutter was on the christmas list. Really awesome to see your craftsmanship
It's been great watching this series. Hope it continues.
I'm glad you did a video on building a reverse flow. I love all of the build videos. I built a 320 gallon offset smoker with no experience. So I have a great appreciation the builds that you do.
I love the rust finish!!
I like how you did the hinges definitely going to have to steal that
Dude I love your style - I started watching to know how to do this (I’m an Aussie, and just came back from Texas where I had the BEST BBQ IN THE UNIVERSE) and kept watching because you’re a funny bastard 😂 thank you so much, you’ve got a new subscriber
It's very eye-opening to see how much work goes into making these. Nice work, dude!
Ever thought of getting a plasma cutter, save on discs, dust, and time. Love the videos!
Very good work and the smokers look great glad you smarted up and started wearing safety glasses when cutting you only have two eyes take care of them
❤ the build series, also other builds you do.
Gotta get up to Canada
W O W ! ! ! Looks like it would heat a 4 family house and feed a 6 family house .... Fantastic job and very HEAVY DUTY ! Great video ...
Very cool video. To see the whole build in one video and all the editing to make this video. Thanks and cheers brother.
Bro I enjoyed this s*** out of watching that build, you are the max! Thank you for your time
Dig the supercut, thanks for the excellent video!
I loved this build!
Beautiful build man! I want the same thing, just half the size
Love the smoker and the build. Have been getting ideas on materials and the best way to build it. Thanks for the video. Great job. Awesome
What is the exterior finish?
Excited to see you at windy city smokeout!
Wow! Such a labor of love! I would be proud to own one
Very cool, enjoyed all the build videos!
The lack of PPE and no injuries is incredible!! 😂😂😂 short sleeves, short pants and crocks. You are mister safety. 😅😅😅
Nice job. I really regret having not learned to weld. You can do a helluva lot of cool things with that skill.
always look forward to the videos. giving me some motivation to build my own. thank you!
I just finnished a mini chudbox for myself
Amazing work Mr Chud - and that’s why they are so expensive 😃
Damn. Good work!
Good morning everyone! Remember to clean y'alls weenies!
Wow…. This is sooo gooodddd
Seeing this build makes me realize why they cost $3,000 for the good ones. I bet your wife and neighbors love you lol. I work construction and I know how loud all that would have been all day long. Awesome video!
Your next build series should be making an offset vertical smoker. And use the mini chud box as the fire box. Even add a cold smoke generator to the side.
Keep up the videos bro!! Love them.
Greetings from Holland
Sick video. Such a nice smoker 🔥👌
Do you have any plans for any of your smokers. I’d like to give that chud box a try if it’s available. Thanks man, I love your content and smokers!!
your neighbor must love all the noise!!!! hahaha Great work!!!!
Nice job bro
You're a god damn magician.
Keep up the good work 🎉
Pretty fun to watch the mash up
Do you think an offset build from A36 is a good choice design wise? Also, are there welding alloys that might be considered not proper for food applications? Or whatever welding alloy will be fine?
Wow, you're really good and it looks awesome ! New subscriber after watching this. How many hours did it take you ?
Thanks for your share I used to watch long times ago now I got own channel so happy to watch and sub😊😊😊
I built my first smoker a year ago using an old hot water tank. Best thing i ever did. First time welding as welding as well. I really loved the welding process of it as well. I am curious, how wide is the stack u put on?
Damn…..that was impressive! 😮
Fun vid, and great work! Would like to see a more detailed explanation of how "reverse" smoker works tho :-]
very nice thumbs up
Amazing man! It’s beautiful! You did a great job! Super inspiring!!! I wish we were neighbors 😂🤘
That's some really great work nice job! Impressive... you got yourself a subscriber!
Bro that is some good work, well done. Pls come to east africa uganda for a safari and teach some youngsters while your at it.
This was wonderful.
Absolutely brilliant......Can you make one up in kit form and ship to South Africa please 🙂🙂
Awesome video, great work... do the handles get hot.??
Great video.
Is the reverse flow smoker better than straight flow ?
good job
You need a plasma cutter bro!!!! Awesome work!!!
How many discs did you go through or did you loose track?
Also, you're a huge inspiration for myself to learn welding, I'm taking 101 class on TIG welding in a week+
It's a beautiful piece of craftsmanship. I know it's not ideal for Brisket, but do you think things like Ribs, Chickens, Turkeys and Pork butts will be the cuts to use on it?
Great video brother! I must say your welding and fabrication skills are impressive and you can definitely see that you like quality workmanship. Always make sure to use your proper PPE's. Maybe a dust mask or half face respirator? I know there uncomfortable but always SAFETY FIRST!!! Love your editing of this video. Awesome brother! Your an amazing man of bbq. Congratulations on your business. God bless you and your family.
I loved the video!!!!👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 how long did it take you to build it & the cost??? & do you custom for others????
I have an idea for a sausage. Loaded baked potato sausage.
All beef sausage as you normally have a steak with a loaded baked potato
Diced potato (frozen hashbrowns)
Cheddar cheese
Bacon
Chives
Encapsulated citric acid to give a sour flavor like sour cream.
Milk powder binder is the cream.
I think it would be fantastic!!!
Thats so satisfying to watch. But how heavy is that smoker in the end 😅
love it do you have measurements ?
🤯. The bacon test.
The bacon season!
Freaking AMAZING!!!
Epic!!!!
I have been doing research on offset smokers and reverse flow smokers for some time now. I ran across an interesting article "Hank’s Offset Smoker Manifesto" where he goes into detail on the physics of the reverse flow smoker stating "The main idea behind reverse flow is (as mentioned) to reduce temperature differences in the food chamber. Completely depending on different constructions an offset smoker is typically hotter the closer to the fire you get. A common way to solve this is to use a slanting baffle perforated with different size holes. The hot air flow is slightly redirected by the smaller holes at the top, forcing some of the hot air down where the larger holes are. This distributes heat more evenly when it enters the food chamber." An awesome design for sure and it makes total sense when imagining the flow of hot air/smoke. Adding this "holy perforated baffle" to your current design may make your reverse flow "more awesomer" (snicker).
Nice fab work. Thought about a plasma cutter? Beats a 4" grinder and 3/8 wall pipe...lol.
What are the benefits of a reverse flow smoker vs a conventional flow?
@CHUDS , how much space did you leave at the end of baffle plate 6-10inch? Also your thoughts on putting firebrick on baffle plate to reduce the radiant heat . Thanks 👊🏽
Pit build montage!
Dang thats inspiring. Ive been wanting to build one just not sure if it would be worth it with the price of metal now days. How much was the material , cut off wheels, grinding disc etc?
we gonna see you at Windy city smoke fest this weekend chud?? gotta try your brisket my man!!
Oh man that's first class work. How many hours did you put in to it.?
Thanks!
Did you make it from pipe? why is it so thick? Looks extra heavy duty. mad props!
Hello, how many millimeters thick iron sheet did you use for the cooking section?
thank you
Your fab skills are really good. As a hobbyist I know all the foibles of doing projects without professional training lol. First off thanks for the tip about the hand torch for bending steel - feel like an idiot for not seeing that before! Second maybe think about a plasma cutter for those otherwise messy grinding wheel jobs. Less crap being flung into the air for you to inhale and/or sweep up later for one thing.
That's freaking awesome!!! How much does it weigh? 😁🤘🏼🍻
what blade are you using in your chopsaw?
How much Argon did you use in this build? (a rough guess) trying to figure what size to get....your 110 cu/ft bottle seems to be the right size. I do see a spare in the corner of the room. =)
respect
One last thing, the DeWalt chop saw you are using is not a cold cut saw-- if you are wondering why you are burning through evolution blades. The DeWalt is made for fiber wheels and spins at rpms too high for the evolution blade--hope that saves you some money!
I am a huge fan. I watch all of your videos. I noticed that you take the extra step to insulate your firebox…… On several occasions, you have made mention of the fact that the "Reverse Flow" generates a lot of heat on the bottom of the smoker. Do you feel that insulating that bottom plate, mimicking your technique of Why you build the fire box the way you do could lessen the amount of "Bottom Heat? I have never built a smoker....Just throwing this out there. Would love your opinion! Thanks for all of your content!
Need some build plans and materials list for these builds, Brad!
Very nice the content is sick. Only one question I’m new to BBQ-N and I’ve only been smokN for 12 years but not this kind of smoking. May I ask is it possible that you could have left the bottom plate accessible to be cleaned or serviceable if necessary or would it leak to much smoke and not be as functional? Either way jw love the content bad ass
How kind of pipe did you make the cook chamber out of and how much did it cost?
Hi, would you be kind enough to let us know what it cost in material just for the steel?
Thank you!
That’s freaking awesome!! I wish I could do that. Nice cool skill set!! 👍🏻👍🏻🍻
Now this is and impressive video. Is this your first smoker you've built? And why not conventional offset and why did you choose to build this as a reverse flow? The only reason why I'm asking because I've always been a fan of the reverse flow and I honestly think you get more smoke flavor. I actually have a barbecue business that is currently flying under the radar and would be really interested and getting my hands on one of these.
I bet your next investment is going to be a plasma cutter right.
How many spools did you go through welding?
That was beautiful 😢
How did you make the lip for the doors
hi man did you do this for sales ?
So is this awesome reverse flow smoker for sale?????
Don't you want your stack up the other end for better convection front to back?
Ola top demais queria saber Qual a medida do tanque e da firebox?
How much wire did you run through?
Brad? From my perspective, the hot smoke flows under the metal tray to the end, then “reverses” over the meat, and exiting via the exhaust. It’s mainly the hot smoke and air that cook the meat. Would a water pan level out the hot spots? It would form a consistent temp from the bottom (around 210-212°(depending on altitude),and double as a grease catcher.
