Stewart you are a gem, and I am a huge fan and follower of your work. Thanks so much for your generosity in sharing these wonderful lessons from the great man. Each lesson, whether here on youtube or in your Fit Sit video programs always turns out to be a joyful exploration into this wonderfuly complex (and convoluted) body of mine, and I am confident that I will be able to walk without pain before too long. The world should be beating a path to your doorstep. Thanks again.

Amazing. I've been doing everything I can to get rid of some side body pain (physical therapy, dry needle, yoga, etc. etc.), and these lessons by far have been better than all of that, and precisely the targeted movement and body tension release that i've been needing. Thank you SO much. wow.

I have all the issues that you mention in the introduction. You put it much more clearly than I could. I did this lesson, the stretching felt god. I’m glad to have found you. Thank you,
Also, Ty for showing the application at the end. I can see the connection now, will work on it regarding my gait and while climbing stairs. Will be redoing these lessons many times. Thanks again.🙏

I continue to reap great benefit from the happy hip series. I had a hip injury 10 years ago and often have to go to physiotherapy etc to manage it. These lessons help so much that sometimes I can skip a physio session. Thank you, Stewart.

Yes, I enjoyed the lesson very much, Stewart. Every time you bring me to new movements with languages both words and body. How unique and fantastic English expression which leads and guides to movement more understandably and to image of movement in my head, this image brings me easier to movement. I feel my stiffness of shoulders and neck get softer. I appreciate you this morning. Good night!

In November 2021 I had a bad fall, injuring my right side, and losing most of my mobility in my right arm and shoulder. I've been in recovery for five months and am improving but still have pain and mobility restrictions in my right shoulder. I found this particular exercise extremely helpful for improving my right shoulder! When I begin the class and lie flat on my back, I need support under my right shoulder/blade but by the end of the class I can relax my right shoulder/blade on the floor without support. I also find I am much more aware of my resistance to putting weight on my right side when walking which has affected me quite a bit. Now I am less hesitant to ground myself as I walk and embrace letting go. It's so wonderful how these slow precise and subtle movements make such a difference. As always, I appreciate your detailed explanations. Have been a fan since the start of the pandemic when I found your channel! - Lesley

Hi Lesly, thank you so much for sharing this. I am so pleased the lessons have been helping. It was the same with my when I had a back injury. This slow, subtle movements suddenly began to make sense and I could begin to move again out of pain. Take good care and remember, if I can offer the advice, not to over do.

Happy Hips 3 gives me ease and calm. I sweated much as I try Happy Hips 4. At the finishing you showed how to walk. This reminds me those very tall buildings show the same movement when an earthquake shake under the ground. The construction system may be the same. The upper part of the bottom controlled gives less strength to up over. In this way, an arc of the bottom wave is nearly the same to the top. I realized this morning, to get better effect needs this hip movement, I’m not sure.

Dear Stewart, i am waiting for a miraculous change in my body and i have just tried to do this one. No miracle, but at the very least i discovered, not quite for the first time, that my right leg is so stiff at the top... the adductors find it hard to 'turn off', and when i lie on my back, i cannot really quite relax the right thigh down. it just holds away. But in THIS one, there is a much stronger indication that there is something i just can't do. Well, i already knew that i can no longer cross my knees, (that bad habit that used to be a piece of cake) and i guess this exercise reveals the same problem. viz. When i lie on my left side, bend the left knee and straighten the top right leg, there is no way i can touch the floor! (Unless the ribs lift right off, that is.). It hovers about nine inches off the floor. So i can't really do this exercise, cos i can't put it down. i also find it very hard to put one foot in front of the other to pull my wellington boots off with the other foot, like one does.... i want to work steadily at improving this issue. please can you advise which movement sequence i should practise? i should go back to that one where it softened 3/4 of the way through... have to find it again!!

I am so sorry to hear about your difficulty Storeytelling threads. Have you had your hip checked by a medical professional? I would do that first to rule out anything structural. If you found a video that helped I would definitely go back to that one and try to use it to discover what works to release the tightness.

@@stewarthamblin I have been seeing an excellent physio for yonks. On the plus side, this is very interesting information. I did this one again this morning and put a roller under my ankle so I could stretch the leg down but not worry about touching the floor. That seemed like a good idea. It's good to discover this anomaly...awareness is crucial, yes? :) love your lessons. Thank you
