That’s a battery monitoring sensor bypass. The vehicle now thinks the battery isn’t charged enough to use the start stop feature. The downside is that now the vehicle will always be charging the (not really low) battery, even when it’s full. This can damage the (very expensive) glass mat battery over time or worse. 🔥 Trailer hitch connector plug in testers left plugged in do the same thing safely as the car thinks it’s running a trailer and disables the system safely.

start-stop is actually harmless, these cars have heavyduty-starters and batteries, from factory. They are meant to stand more starting-cycles than older cars. Other systems are also beeft-up in these cars.
I know many focus on the starter and battery and I agree, that's a non-issue. The concerns I have with it is the going from heavy load to a stop and immediate shutdown, you now lost all oil flow to lubricate and cool as well as all coolant flow to maintain the cooling. This is especially bad when turbochargers can be over 1000 degrees quite often.
Definitely need this installed because if not it is hard in your engine and starter and battery to keep starting, I get it your trying to save fuel but there is an extent.
Virtually every vehicle with auto-stop has heavy duty starters AND batteries that are far better than the average ones on a regular car. Engineers aren't complete idiots, believe it or not.
@@gumenskitherefore those components will be even more expensive to replace. So with reduced stress they will last even longer and save money long term.
It seems like a great alternative to the little harness you plug in behind the dash. The only concern is that they don’t mention anywhere on the site what their module is doing to override start/stop. So how is a consumer supposed to just put their trust in this individual blindly that it won’t negatively impact other systems on the truck?
You must never "trust the individual blindly that it won't negatively impact other systems on the truck". The driver of the vehicle (the consumer) is presumed to be intelligent enough to know to tap the "on/off" button on the dash (which has a yellow light to indicate whether it is on or off) to disable the auto engine stop/start feature when you get into the vehicle after you start the vehicle up or at any time while you are driving the vehicle. Yes, you the consumer does have to tap that button each time you drive the vehicle. You also have to press the AC button to "on" or "off" each time you want to turn the AC on or off. The consumer also has to flip the light switch at home to turn the lights on or off. This can be done without having to disable your home's electric power. Flipping the light switch is not very difficult to do. Neither is tapping the on/off button for the auto stop/start. You think?

Biggest complaints with my 2024 Denali 1500 6.2: 1) The sideview cameras do not work at night, so I can’t park close to a curb. 2) The Auto Stop/Start is dangerous and wears the starter/ring gear out, not to mention the engine internals. 3) The tailgate button is next to the Remote Start button on the DOB, so my tailgate hits my garage and inevitably, a motorcycle that parks too close. 4) It is only a matter of time before the tailgate step smashes into my trailer hitch.
I got the other one that goes in the dash for my 2021. Just $99 ($135CAD). This one at $140 ($190CAD) is a bit too expensive. Taking apart the dash wasn't that bad. Given a choice, I still would have gone with the other one.
Typically you can disable this under vehicle settings in one of 2 menus you can access from the center console. It can also be switched from the dash cluster. Maybe this changed on the newer one, however I drive these professionally and most of the older and newer rental Tahoe, suburbans, Yukons, Escalades etc have the option to Simply turn it off…

Whether or not this has a negative effect on your battery or alternator I wouldn’t know but I would personally avoid messing with a system like your charging system especially if you venture out far with your truck like some of us do.
All it need to do is reduce the voltage during startup, the rest of the time it can give the system the full battery voltage. The vehicle is looking for enough voltage during startup to confirm that the correct battery / a good healthy battery is installed. All it does is trick the system into thinking that the battery is not rated for fast startups required by the auto stop-start system.
A button on my dash to turn off Auto stop is just NOT that big of a deal to me. If a button wasn't easily accessible and was in the glove compartment or under the seat, then I would be interested in this product.

🔥 Trailer hitch connector plug in testers left plugged in do the same thing safely as the car thinks it’s running a trailer and disables the system safely.
incorrect. in many areas ..... that trailer hitch plug you recommend will disable the park sensors.
6 cylinder duramax diesel? I’ve had (2), both with an overpowering coolant smell that’s most prominent from the passenger side fender/hood area but can also be smelled inside the truck. Have you experienced this?
Yes, if your coolant level is low, then I suggest you take a look at my video on leaks to give you some ideas on where to look. If no coolant loss, then it's likely the same thing most of us have which is just a smell from the coolant reservoir cap purging. th-cam.com/video/HLhqwX_3ByI/w-d-xo.html

Thanks, I appreciate it
So far my auto-stop mostly doesn't come on in winter. It's cold here so it stops stopping at lower than 20°F.
I've heard it won't come on if your front defrost is on.
It comes on with the defrost on, I think its partially temperature controlled, then whatever draw is on the battery. So if you have a lot of stuff on, like stereo, defroster or A/C and headlights then it won't come on as often.@@ShiftEnvy
I just order one for my 2023 AT4. I’ll let you guys know how it goes!
How did it go?
Where did you get your oil cap? That’s badass
Any updates on banks derringer for the 3.0
Seeing some fully deleted LM2 do you have to tune or just cut off the egr ? Thanks
Thanks ! It's a PPE oil cap. The Derringer will come out after the 6.6 one comes out. Priority to the new 6.6 but the tech from that derringer rolls to us.
You aint getting one for a while maybe ever. The 6.7 powerstroke for 20 and up has been coming soon for two years and they say they are still researching the 3.0l dmax. Dont hold your breath imo
@@DemonWorksyou have any inside info on the derringer now? Years and years and still nothing
What about the warranty on the truck
start-stop is actually harmless, these cars have heavyduty-starters and batteries, from factory.
At least the 4 banners have electric water pumps that keep going after engine stop.
Harmless, maybe but a pure pain the backside. Had mine try and kill me twice already after trying to get a jump into traffic from a stop.
I actually don’t mind it on in my truck it’s really not that bad of a transition on the 2.7 turbo motor
So what color wire do you cut and send 12volts to? Little high to buy one
There isn't a wire to cut. The video shows the ground that gets installed with the nut and the connector that gets plugged in.
Damn I wish you would of slowed that down . Does the light come on now on inside switch . After the install? Thats a great trick. Thanks
The light on the switch stays on.
put it into trailering mode. The engine shut off is over ridden . it will stay in trailer mode until the truck is off for several hours
I like the idea, but I don't like running in tow mode.
Burn a lot more gas with tow mode
So push a button to keep from pushing a button?
@@454budman that's pretty darn funny
Did you have any issues with your auto cooled seats? After installing this my auto cool seat feature does not work.
You think?
New 24 LT Z71 here. Is this product going to do crazzy things to the electronics, possibly?
Is it going to void the warranty?
I absolutely hate that system!! Thank You
Biggest complaints with my 2024 Denali 1500 6.2:
1) The sideview cameras do not work at night, so I can’t park close to a curb.
2) The Auto Stop/Start is dangerous and wears the starter/ring gear out, not
to mention the engine internals.
3) The tailgate button is next to the Remote Start button on the DOB, so my
tailgate hits my garage and inevitably, a motorcycle that parks too close.
4) It is only a matter of time before the tailgate step smashes into my trailer
hitch.
For complaint 4 u can lockout the inner tailgate
I got the other one that goes in the dash for my 2021. Just $99 ($135CAD). This one at $140 ($190CAD) is a bit too expensive. Taking apart the dash wasn't that bad. Given a choice, I still would have gone with the other one.
Where and what do. I buy for this auto start stop to eliminate the feature at the battery? Thanks
link is in the description.
AWESOME find! Would love to that the 1/2 ton diesel really nice truck!
Thanks !
Typically you can disable this under vehicle settings in one of 2 menus you can access from the center console. It can also be switched from the dash cluster. Maybe this changed on the newer one, however I drive these professionally and most of the older and newer rental Tahoe, suburbans, Yukons, Escalades etc have the option to
Simply turn it off…
Negative. It's an emissions thing, not something one can just turn off permanently. There is a manual button one can press at each key cycle, though.
@@DemonWorks This is new or has changed with software I believe. 2015-2020 Tahoe, burban,Yukon, lade can all be deactivated in the menu, maybe even 2021 models are like this changing for 2022. Makes sense now that you say that because they have to meet overall emissions for the fleet, so I guess they baked it in, having it optional I don’t think EPA counts it. ( has to be the default driving mode or something like that) Having to add flex fuel to my Denali XL thankfully this one didn’t have stop start. Speaking of that you can always use HP tuners to turn this feature off too but will cost off
License and requires the ECU is sent out for a week to be unlocked. (Totally worth it)
Hi Quick question, does this device cause a draw on the battery when the vehicle is not in use?
Yep, works great and installed in a few minutes.
Great to hear!
Any help with the operating system saying "sorry i'm offline and can't help you with that" almost every day at random time driving 2023 Silverado? I don't have a subscription to the service and don't want one.
I have no help for ya, unfortunately. I do not like the google system ...
My truck also says the same thing to me usually in the first mile of driving but randomly!
$140? No thanks. I’ll just push the button.
Does this interfere with using your auxiliary switches from turning accessories on?
You can also drive it with the transmission in manual and it won't shut the truck off, for free, your welcome... Plus transmission shifts much smoother
My auto stop only worked the 1st 200 miles , after that , it has not activated.
On the other hand, I can not get my seat belt notification to stop beeping, even when the settings is off
What year is your truck. Did u reach out to the manufacturer?
Does anybody have a link to this or what is it called exactly I can't understand what he says in the video. thanks
It’s in the description
@@DuramaxNews okay it's showing up. I didn't see it earlier. Anybody have any idea if this voids factory warranty or a GM scan tool that they use can detect it has been used before
I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure if you hold the start button for 10 seconds it shuts off the auto start stop mode.
There's a button on the dash to shut it off.
Holding the start button down for 10sec stops the car/truck from shutting down after idling a while.
I’m going to go out in a limb here and say that all that unit is doing is making the Battery Load Management system think there is too large of a load to allow the auto start stop system to shut down.
Range technology makes a plug that disables the auto start and the cylinder shut off. 200 bucks from Amazon and you can keep your truck in v8 mode with no shut off all the time
Absolutely, I have that on my camaro
Do you have a link to the product (or the name)? I only see Range Technology modules that do one or the other, but not both.
@@pigzaj2 Range Technology RA003B AFM/DFM Disabler-Blue
@@MINIHAHA1 thanks for the info. I checked it out and it only disabled the cylinder shut off, not the auto stop/start. I'll keep looking for something that does both for a reasonable cost.
@pigzaj2 the one I have disabled it. My truck hasn't shit off since I plugged it in
Just curious to know if you have had any issues since you installed this?
No issues with it, has been working as designed since installed.
HTF does it work if its only connected to power? 😲
For any truck o just diesel🤔
Gasoline as well
Where do you get this product from
Wait....they put auto stsrt stop on the DIESELS TOO?!?
$150 for this module or $99 for the one that goes behind the dash?!? Seems like the pricing is a bit high to justify for me...just my thoughts.
I hear ya, I have both but opted to install this one because it was so much more convenient.
I used a similar product, goes under the console and they are great.Stupid feature gm came up with.Whew.
Much easier to install for sure.
Where can I buy this. Got a link?
I need one for a 2018 terrain
Wait how do you record and use carplay
When i try to record or use mic while using carplay there is no vice
Separate camera used, not my phone.
i did the one behind the dash. ordered it befor I even picked up the truck
I have that one sitting on my desk. I didn't feel like going through all of the disassembly with the console.
ya no need if you can just do plug and play under the hood. im kind of worried about the one i have now if i ever have to take the truck in. Dealer might spend hours trying to figure out why my dash says auto start off every time the trucks started with out hitting the button. Then hand me a bill.
@@JCunningham21with the under dash version you can actually turn auto start/stop back on by pressing the button, it merely remembers your setting and holds it there.
correct @@Johnny_Bee
Will this work on 2020 Sierra RST as well?
Yes, it should. Double check with the website but it's the same setup.
How about take 2 second and push the button that is in every start/stop car.
fill it up and drive ! Thanks for watching
Chevy Equinox up to 2023 do not have the button on the dash, so....
Wonder how it works, it must trick the computer that the battery is at a lower voltage then it really is. So computer never calls for AUTO/START/STOP. Just a guess.
Manipulated battery temp reading.
Would this be useful in traffic so truck doesn’t idle as much?
This will keep it idling- so no
However it will increase turbo longevity because it has constant oil feed if it doesn't shut off as opposed to intermittent
Auto stop does not make my Sierra with the 6.2 jumpy at all, smooth and hardly notice at all. My old Ford made the whole vehicle shudder.
Would this work on my ram 2024 1500 hemi ?
Unfortunately, I do not know. i would reach out to the manufacturer.
I really don’t get everyone’s hate on the start/stop. I have a 2020 traverse, and unless it’s the best system ever in all vehicles, I rarely if ever notice when it engages. I definitely don’t get the ‘jerking’ described in this video 🤷🏻♂️
maybe that comes down to the difference in a traverse vs a silverado ?
@@DemonWorksmaybe? But it’s not just truck vs traverse… I see the same complaint from owners of other brands (Dodge, ford, Hyundai, Mazda, Acura, etc…). I even test drove a couple Hyundai Palisades before settling on the Traverse and I couldn’t tell when it engaged or disengaged then either 🤷🏻♂️
Hey man you have any connections at banks about when the Lzo tuner is coming out? Thanks
Once you see the 6.6 Derringer arrive, we will get ours
@@DemonWorks thanks dude. Will keep checking daily. Banks is the only name I can trust
@@travispinkerton9916 no problem! The 6.6 is obviously their priority and we are next up. The hood thing about that, what they learn and apply to that platform rolls to us.
Looks like it disables/bypasses the high energy capacitor on the battery. Without that, system will not function. Think you can also replace the expensive AGM battery with a standard battery. Same results, no high energy capacitor for the AS system. Save a couple hundred dollars on the batteries too. 🤷♂️
Can dealer disconnect it at time of purchase
they cannot.
I installed one and it makes my left speaker pop when I turn the signal light for the first time ,Then after that its fine? But when I start it up again pop then its all fine.
Did you contact the manufacturer? It doesn't make sense to me since this unit just makes the system think the battery is warm... but anything can happen I suppose.
@@DemonWorks I sent them a massage see what happens.
I installed this and it also disabled the feature that enables the automatic seat heaters from coming on when the temp falls below a certain threshold. Is this normal? What else does it turn off besides the auto stop?
I do not see how that would affect the seat heaters like that. It definitely did not do that to mine.
Yeah, my truck normally applies the seat and steering wheel heaters after I remote start when it is cold in the mornings and this morning after installing the unit that did not happen. Very odd.@@DemonWorks
Definitely odd, maybe coincidence or maybe change in outside temp is high enough for it to decide not to enable. This is something I have not experienced though, unfortunately.
A little off subject but I asked this question once before and maybe you addressed it but do any of the PPE or VSE mods you talk about void any warranty coverage with GM?@@DemonWorks
Where do I order this part?
My 82 Chevy doesn't have that problem
I wonder why 🙄
Doesn’t this void your warranty?
Which warranty would it void?
I hate that stupid auto stop, as well as the electronic dshifter. I hope they go back to steering column shifter and get rid of some of those stupid electronics gadgets that cause so many issues
What we are paying for these vehicles we should be able to decide if we want this on or off! Not some dumbass sitting behind a desk wasting our tax dollars. Do their jets shut off when they are stopped on the runway?
I put this in. Worked about 2 months then truck started doing auto stop again???
Contact them, I bet you get a replacement.
Did u get a replacement? Was your issue resolved?

No problem 👍
Next thing to do is find something that will override that stupid cylinder deactivation system!
Do you run this in your zr2?
Not currently. The plan was to install the other style that plugs into the switch, but I haven't had time to install that one since it requires interior panels to be removed. Instead, I just reach over every time and push the switch, then sigh, then tell myself i really need to install the bypass.
Great videos. Keep em up!
What’s the reason for wanting to install a different product on the new truck since this one is so easy to instal?
@@michaelanderson350I try to test and show the installation of every product available.

No, that would need to be a different device.
