Watching here in England, UK. Great Vid. Nice and clear instructions. +++ on the safety side. Can never be too safe when your under the motor rather than in it ;-)

Thanks for the tutorial. I'll do this and the rear ASAP. I need to drive 50km for the wheel alignment shop afterwards. Do you think it will be a problem?

I put Lemforder 3570101 bushing in to original front arms, cost 7 euro for one bushing, and complete M3 rear arm by TRW as you have done.

Thanks for sharing! That steering wobble you feel when braking is because of warped front brake rotors. If when braking you don’t feel the wobble on the steering wheel but you do in the rear, is because of rear rotors warped. Probably they’re beyond their life span

Thanks for watching! The worn tension/strut rods can also cause a similar symptom. I was able to visibly confirm that the bushings were worn, that’s why I replaced the arms first. If that didn’t stop the shaking, the brake rotors would have been the next item to inspect.

@@soufsidemotorsports8418 thanks for the reply. I went through the same thing on my e91 and changing the rotors fixed it. Tomorrow I’m changing the suspension to hopefully eliminate a kind of clunk I feel when braking at very slow speeds. Like when parking in front of a wall

Nice video. I work on cars all the time. You seem to have a good understanding of why things are done they way they are done. A question - after installing the new M3 arms, how did the car drive before and after the alignment? I installed and have not gotten alignment but it's pretty twitchy at parking lot speeds. Did it get less twitchy after the alignment?

Sorry for the late reply. After alignment, it was MUCH more stable. It wasn’t twitchy per se, but the stability definitely got better. I’m guessing the toe changed a good bit, I’d have to look at the alignment sheet before and after.

So I'm wondering why you have to grind down that because yours doesn't have the msport package? I have a d but mine msport and no one ever mentioned about grinding anything.

The fitment was slightly too tight. I’m not a big fan of forcing things so I took a little material off the arm to get it to slide in easier. Honestly, it may depend on the car too. Some people may have issues, others won’t.

@@soufsidemotorsports8418 yeah that's what I was asking because you said you didn't have the msport I'm wondering if the cradle is different. I could look in etka maybe it will say. I've never seen this before lol

I just pounded mine in, appropriately strong taps with a hammer and it drifted right in after about 15-20 taps.

I forgot to ask, where did you get the 74 ft lbs torque spec at? All I can find is like 100 nm plus 90 degrees turn

Great question! I believe I grabbed it off of a forum post. I recommend using newtis value now, which is 100 Nm and 90 degrees.
