  • In this video I show you how to upgrade your E9X or E8X BMW with M3 control arms.
    This is only for RWD models. I show you the kit and show you how to install it.
    Your car will have a sportier ride and have more on center steering feel and more precise handling.
    I install this kid on my E90 335i but this kit fits all RWD E90s. If you want to give your car more of an M car feel this kit is a nice upgrade.
    It costs less then piecing together the original control arm bushings for your car so if you have over 100K miles this would be a nice upgrade just for maintenance.
    If you are interested in purchasing this kit you can do so here (affiliate):

    I upload regularly.
    Thanks for watching :) When you see the word "affiliate" listed beside any link in my description please know that this is a custom link and I will earn a small commission if you opt to purchase using said link. This is at no extra cost to you so it's a win all around :) Thank you!

    I bent my stock control arm from race track so i decided to upgrade it to this and let me tell you guys this will change your car handling so much that it felt like i am driving a different car, the steering is so much better than before, its really ideal for windy road like mountain pass or complex race track.
    If u guys have not upgrade yet to this control arm i would highly recommend it specially doing a high speed corner.

    What a coincidence! I also just did this upgrade along with the rear control arms as well and m3 subframe bushings. After the alignment it’s crazy how glued to the road the car feels. Ride isn’t harsh at all in fact even better than before since the stock stuff was all worn out. Turn in and handling has gotten siginificantly better. And the car feels planted even switching lanes at highway speeds. If your in doubt of this upgrade don’t be! It’s worth it!

I was preparing to clean-up and reuse the original factory arms this weekend... until I saw this video! I actually was holding off on upgrading to M3 arms next year, but when I saw the price for these TRWs, and the fact that they are the OE manufacturer - well damn, it made too much sense to grab a set now. Besides it would probably have taken me a sh*tload more time to clean the crud off the originals than it would to just swap them out. 😉 I got to say once again, the ideas, information and content you present here are excellent. Got this done over the summer front and rear control arms. Ohlins coilovers and ground control camber plates. The difference is night and day. Still a bit splashy in the rear, next upgrade will probably be swaybars.

    • @iG4MERs
      @iG4MERs 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Big sway bar in the rear will make the rear more drift friendly. If you don't want it to feel so lose try aluminum rear subframe bushings👍🏽

    • @tecitez16
      @tecitez16 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@iG4MERs I was thinking about the swaybars. The aluminum subframe bushing are new to me. A gentleman had mentioned aluminum subframe inserts helped too. Either way you have to drop the sub, not completely, to even get the swaybar in and out.

    How much power are you making now? Did you get a custom Wedge tune?

    • @VehicularDIY

      Yeah I have a custom wedge tune, I was making 540 WHP but have since swapped to manual and asked Wedge to turn things up so I'm not exactly sure how much it's making now but I plan on taking it back to a dyno.

    Vehicular DIY video series on BMW convinced me after 3-4 years of constipating getting myself an N54 powered 335i. Most others I watched before finding this channel were just kids only going fast. Once I started shopping I went through videos showing his work with technical explanation and in depth review of each maintenance fix or upgrade, I know now I have good references to use as guides as I spend the next year going through my car. Three weeks into ownership and only driven the new ride once, then tore into cooling system rebuild. Was going to be my first task, but a pinhole leak appeared during delivery. But will be wrapped up tomorrow. Now finish buying parts to redo the entire turbo system. Bought a second set of factory turbos, Turbo Lab rebuild kits and waste gate kits. New outlets and relocate inlets from ARM Motorsports. Will finish buying the rest while I rebuild the turbo assemblies and plan a time to test it down, clean the engine compartment completely before installing. Hopefully within a year or so I will have a like new 2009. My only worry is maybe I shouldn't have gotten the Xdrive version.

    Are there any options for XDrive e90s?

  • @Mister-Christer

    Be careful. My lower front control arms gave me bump steer. Had to buy original and replace those, because it was very dangerous with bump steer. For example my car steering into opposite side traffic when running over manhole covers that were slightly dipped.
    All the other arms are changed though except two in the back. Ok mine is an E91, but its very similar to an E90 in a lot of ways.
    Take care, and thanks for awesome videos!

    I did the front and rear control arms on my 2008 328i. I felt like the front honestly didn't make that big of a difference, but once I did the rear guide rods and wishbones. Wow! It literally felt like a brand new car. Such a huge improvement. Now I'm thinking about upgrading the toe arms and trailing arms too!

      Hello there, do you have part numbers for rear arms upgrades please?

    • @vertvlogs675
      @vertvlogs675 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@justas6686 Sure, they are:
      33322283545
      33322283546
      33322283547
      33322283548
      And the two plastic ABS Cable Brackets you'll need are:
      34522283017 (x2)
      I would recommend ordering it from FCP Euro if you're in the U.S. They have a kit which has all the parts together so you don't have to worry about ordering the wrong stuff. Also their kit uses the TRW control arms (TRW manufactures the arms for BMW) so they are much cheaper than ordering the "actual" BMW control arms. The TRW part numbers are:
      TRW-JTC1428
      TRW-JTC1429
      TRW-JTC1430
      TRW-JTC1431
      Hope this helps!
