The Frontier is a solid little workhorse. The auto parts stores around here love to use them for delivery vehicles. I got an older one with the 4 cylinder and it is simple & reliable.
Love my frontier Pro-4X. Good off road. Comfortable on trips. Regularly get 24mpg in mixed highway/suburban driving. Best value out there… even factoring in resale data.
Nissan Frontier is the BEST CHOICE! A no nonsense truck on a real truck chassis with a V6 naturally aspirated engine. That’s what you want! You can throw all the other options out of the window!
Just bought a 25 Ram and not one bit afraid. 24! Mpg with 425 H.P. The in line 6 has always been the best engine design. That little 4 cylinder hand grenade in the Tacoma is going to blow up!
Only count four truck recommendations. The Toyota Tacoma is not a good buy anymore with its turbo engine, and excessive pricing in the higher trims. Out of the Frontier, Ridgeline, and Maverick, which are all good trucks, the Maverick takes the cake as best pound for pound truck for 2025
Nissan Frontier should be number 1 on this list. A 4cy pickup truck 🛻 reliability just went out the door 🚪. You definitely fell and bumped your head if you think a Ford Maverick 4cy hybrid with a cvt is as reliable as a Toyota Tacoma. For future reference, compare light pick-up trucks vs light pick-up trucks and large pickup trucks vs large pickup trucks.
Great review as usual. I have a 2018 Charger R/T 5.7 Hemi. 41000 miles and an absolutely fantastic car. 16 to 17 in the city and 31 to 33 on hwy at 70 MPH. Use 89 Octane. Will drive it until it dies. Appreciate your channel.😎
The times are changing and these are different times. Nobody is willing to spend over $50 thousand for a truck. There are thousands of trucks waiting for buyers on parking lots.
Be careful with anything with a turbo! That takes out the current Toyotas. With transmission issues in the Tacoma to bore shavings in the Tundras, only the Nissan Frontier, Honda Ridegline and domestic trucks remain.
I think I’ll stick to the Frontier. Toyota is having so many recalls… and I really don’t care for the Ridgline or Maverick. As a kid I always wanted Jeep so a gladiator seemed like a great choice but apparently they have issues too… man!
@myronromero7071 your see what's happening to the tacoma right now? There's 3 videos out there on you tube, that have the new Tacoma grenading, due to 3 separate issues. And there's ton of people with problems who made the mistake to buy one.

I’m retired and plan on driving my 23 TRD until I die and I’m quite sure that my wife will still be using it to plow the 5-7 feet of snow off our private road until she dies. I've sold a ton of Ridgelines. Absolutely the only pickup l would buy...PERIOD! If youre looking for comfort in your truck, the Ridgline should the #1 pick. The handling will blow your mind. But, if youre looking for a daily bang around p/up, the Maverick is king. GREAT REVIEW.
Toyota will not stand behind their product. Trust me. Have owned 2 of them and after many recalls, they said that is all they are willing to do. I replied : I will NEVER buy another Toyota again after all the problems. The guy on the phone said : I don't really care. REALLY ???? F U Toyota !
Looks like someone didn't read consumer reports. Literally nothing correct in this video. The Toyota is literally one of the worst vehicles on the market
I hear they run well and have great fuel economy, but they do have a horrible internal oil pump BELT drive with a service interval. Transmission must be pulled to change it. Also, rear timing drive system, HORRIBLE location to work on. Like most modern cars, great if you get rid of them in 5 years, or can afford stealership service costs. NOT good for DIY or long term. Very sad, and inexcusable.
This is very biased review. I bought Gladiator in 2019, made 55000 miles without a single problem. All people around love gladiators and give me compliments. When I drove it North Dakota or Texas it never let me down. I have confidence when I drive my Jeep.
All trucks have issues? So what ARE the issues on Frontier? I haven't really heard of anything significant. If the Frontier was exactly the same, but had a Toyota badge, it would be hailed as the 8th wonder of the world, just because. But because it says Nissan instead, we must limit ourselves from saying too much good about it, especially if daring to say it's BETTER than Saint Toyota.
lol he probably gets paid by a Toyota dealership…turbocharging a truck lol. Trucks are not meant to be raced. The 2022 Tundra, a hulk of a truck using V6 engine (lol) only, also has engine issues. Something that big needs a v8 to haul its weight. Coworker of mine is waiting for his turn to get the tranny n engine replaced under warranty and then will sell it. He says so much hassle.
Totally disagree with you about the ram 1500. I understand your concerns about the hurricane engine but its still available with the pentastar. Furthermore the design of the hurricane engine seems promising. Chevy makes a 2.7 turbo that has some similarities that has surpassed their LS motors with reliability number. But still ram base model tradesman with the pentastar engine seems to be the best option to get a comfortable, capable, reliable full size truck for competitivel the lowest price on the market. I have to question your decisions on the honda ridgeline and the Tacoma. Tacoma is a good truck but it doesn't seem to be pulling anything incredible this year and is having its own reliability problem. Its too similar to the ranger and Colorado but its 6 grand more. The ridgeline is the same problem 5 ft bed. Unibody only gets 1300 or so pound of payload and 5k towing. Why have a big v6 in that? It more money than the maverick with worse fuel milage and similar capability. Unless you just gotta have that comfortable unibody ride why spend 10k more. Buy a maverick
Back in 2021 I was tossed up between a Gladiator Willys and a TRD Tacoma. I rented the Tacoma and lived with it for two weeks. The only plus I can say about the Tacoma was that while on the highway the Tacoma was a lot more quiet of a ride. But to me that is to be expected out of a traditional hardtop vehicle. I purchased the Willys edition Gladiator after many test drives. I can say without hesitation it was way better of a truck than the Tacoma. It had more cabin room. It had disc brakes where the Tacoma in 2021 still had drum brakes, so as a result, the Gladiator stopped a lot better! The Gladiator was faster. I also felt as if it handled better. 62,000 miles in two years and not a single problem with the Gladiator. As far as looks go, I think they are both great looking trucks and that just comes down to opinion of taste.
@jean-paulbourbonnais6682 I'm not sure at this point. Auto reliability seems to have taken a hit since the tech boom and the emissions rules tightening up. All these changes.
