- 2023 Audi Etron GT RS review by The Straight Pipes. The RS e tron Gt is putting down 590 horsepower and 612 lb-ft of torque from an 84kwh battery with 2 electric motors and a 2 speed transmission. At $195,740 CAD, would you take it over the Porsche Taycan?

Portland, JAMAICA in the Building!!!
Audi currently seems to be the only car manufacturer, where the interior design is not a screen overkill festival trying to outdo Tesla. I really like that they didn't change that too much compared to their cars with combustion engines.
Love the interior of the Audi, love the exterior of the Taycan
I won’t even consider new BMWs because their interior design looks so cheap with the big screen. But maybe BMW interiors have always been boring
Very wrong, Audi screwed up with the Two level Touch Screen setup on their older ICE cars. They put a 2nd screen in a lower binacel which replaced physical buttons and knobs. It has been widely panned critically. They didn't want to make the same mistake on this stunning eTron GT.
Precisely why I have one, they don't overdo it.
Taycan is easily better then this car in every way. Not to even mention the new taycan turbo gt that just posted a 7:07 around nurumbring
Audi mastered the art of making a heavy car handle a long time ago, if anything this has better weight distribution than what they're used to. 🇲🇽
Glad to see other reviewers appreciating Audi ergonomics! I made a video a few months back calling Audi infotainment + hard button lay out + ergonomics "MASTERCLASS". It truly is perfect the way they do things!
You guys don’t know there’s a huge problem with Sandisk SSD‘s right now. Many stores are pulling them off the shelves because of a issue with the company refusing to do a recall. Thousands of people are getting scammed. You should not be promoting this product right now. It is very bad for your brand
Avoid SanDisk drives like the plague, specially 4TB ones
Have you seen the depreciation on these?? Just watched one on Bring a Trailer with a $165k MSRP fail to get more than $85k on a used 2022 with 13k miles. Wholesale is $91k USD - so best case $60-70,000 depreciation in 1 year - INSANE.
I noticed the same … used one locally for $82K & it was listed for over a month with no takers.
Every EV going to be like this 😂
@@krasnaludek298EVs are like any new technological thing, every day news of a “new” improvement on battery tech or something makes the current version seem dated and not worth much like how much is an older IPhone worth?
great news for you and me haha
@@TheStraightPipesTesla's still wanting top dollar for used. More than new. That's why I went new.
Excellent, review, Jakob and Yuri. We have a 2023 e-tron GT(in Ascari Blue). It is stunning and drives SO well. Unfortunately, ours has spent almost as much time in the dealership than on the road due to technical issues. We've experienced brake booster failure (twice) and the TMCU which connects the MMI to a cell network keeps failing and dropping to 3G (non-data) mode. We hope that Audi Canada sorts these things out - and that we get to enjoy our new car. Our Electrify Canada experience has been PERFECT. We have a 350 kW Electrify Canada charger 10 minutes from our house and we've achieved charge speeds higher than 200 kW. We use the Electrify Canada charger to bring us up to 80% then we top off slowly at home. Keep up the great content!
Thank you for that, I won’t buy one.
thanks for sharing!
Fun Fact: Sandisk Extreme SSD's are notorious for failures. Not dogging on TSP for being sponsored by them, but letting y'all know you should definitely back up your data on more than just those.
All the same
No, they are not. SanDisk is very reliable
@@xue8888Maybe not SanDisk as a brand, but their portable SSDs are failing very frequently. Look up “SanDisk portable SSD failures” there are many articles discussing the topic. Also SanDisk is preparing a firmware update to mitigate the issue, no mentions of refunds to those who had the drives fail already.
Im sure the MTTF is comparable in the industry … what numbers have you seen ? Or is this your opinion?
The 4TB is a disaster, I know at least 2 people lost their data and they are not recovering them, even Sandisk are recalling them @@xue8888
In China right now 🇨🇳 . Always fun to see what they have available back in the States and love seeing y'alls channel to grow to what it is now. Y'all could review cardboard and I'd still watch it.
I like that they have not changed their interior design simply for trends. I hope the A6 avant e-tron will have buttons like this one.
The rear three-quarter view is among the best of any new car, regardless of its method of propulsion.
I actually had a good experience fast charging my EV6 during a mini-roadtrip to Sarnia last week. We stopped at Onroute Ivy chargers both ways and they worked well. Max speed at Onroute Dutton was 180kW from a charger that was listed as being 100kW on Ivy's app. We skipped the chargers at Onroute Tilbury South because both were being used, though.
Have you found anything you don't like in the EV6? I'm looking at one this weekend vs used German luxury sedans that I can tune to 500+ hp. I have a 500 hp Audi A6 but it's now older and needs more maintenance.
90% I'm getting another car this weekend.
I went and sat in one and the interior seems super nice but a bit creaky.
I go Kitchener to London for work when I go, which is 260-270 kms total. Is the range enough? Kia said like 335 km real world, in summer for the GT AWD.
@@OviWanKeno9i had mine for 15k miles now, done a road trip from Seattle -> Montana and back, and honestly, nothing to complain here, expect for the seats. I think they could be comfier. I don't pay for the subscription until it gets cold, remote climate control is great for that, but its too expensive for all year.
Range in the summer can go up to 310miles (~500km), in the winter, goes down to like 250/240 (380km) at around 10c and below. I'm a pretty chill driver, so if you have a lead foot I can see that range go down by like 10miles (20km) atleast. I have the Wind AWD which is rated for 270miles (430km) average. GT will be way lower of course.
@@OviWanKeno9i I have had an EV6 for 7 months now, and just did a 5000+km road trip in Australia. It has been an excellent car, my wife loves it.
Don't expect the interior or tech presentation to be on the same level as a proper luxury car, because it isn't. Plastics can be hard in places and the Infotainment is a little dated (probably going to be replaced with a new system at refresh). The seats in the GT are sporty and hold you well, but I think miss the point of the car. It would have been better with the more comfortable GT-line seats.
But there is a lot that is excellent as well. The way it rides, handles, and drives. The driver interface is much more intuitive than some other EVs. Range is decent, I did some 300+km legs in my roadtrip with temps just above freezing (though mine is a longer range RWD) so it may work for your commute (I would do more research and confirm before buying, though), but if you find yourself short, it charges very quickly.
One thing to be aware of, because of the battery chemistry, it is recommended that you generally only charge the car to 80%. Then charge to 100% for long trips or once a month to balance the battery. This helps reduce battery degradation over time. If your long commute is frequent and you plan on keeping your new car long term, you may want to consider other options, or at least be well-informed on the issue.
@@OviWanKeno9i EV6 GT AWD probably wouldn't have enough range for you in winter. I like everything about mine.. except for the lack of wireless android auto.
I’m from Lithuanian and I never miss your videos! Love what you do guys! Keep it going! 🎉🎉🎉
🇱🇹
Honestly I saw one of these by the epa headquarters when they were just coming out and oh man. This thing is stunning in person and makes you forget it’s electric. The rear taillights are just insane at dusk.
This car is even more beautiful seeing it live. Watching from South Africa!🇿🇦
Hey im a big fan also. I love all your reviews and the fun you guys have. I live in Trinidad and Tobago.🇹🇹
Big fan, guys! Watching with my family here in Thailand🇹🇭
Been watching u guys from the time u were "small" creators. Love the content shoutouts from Barbados🇧🇧
Shout out Barbados
Been waiting for this! Love the channel. Fingers crossed you guys get to drive the new C63 soon! 🇺🇸
I bought my 2018 Cabriolet based on your S5 review, and I'm still tickled pink with its looks, performance and control layout. This EV is gorgeous, but a bit out of my price range. Thanks guys!
I was behind one of these on my bike and I was shocked how sick the rear lights shine at night.
i still dont get why they dont hatch the back instead of having such a tiny trunk opening
Living in Oslo Norway, and currently owning a Taycan CT (and previously owned an E-Tron GT) I have probably 20-30 225kW+ chargers within a 10 minute drive. It is interesting to see how much you struggle in Canada with charging. For the first time in a very long time I encountered a charger not working yesterday. I just drove 4 minutes down the road and found a 240kW one.
We struggle in the US as well. I have 1 350kW charger in a 40 mile radius. I get higher speeds at the 150kW chargers. I'm not rich though. I have a lowly Kia EV6 GT.
🥹 Glad to hear the rest of the world is moving forward with electrification
Norway is the capital of Evs… Portugal has the same issues as in CA and US
It's going to be slow for us. Especially given the fact the over 70% of us charge from home. We'll get there. I hope. @@theklr
I think most governments know the EV thing is going to fall off a cliff before 2030
Shout out from Kenya. Your videos are a blessing
Haha great way to show the sponsors. Someone always manages to find THE perfect song for the intro!
Love watching your videos
Shoutout from Montego Bay, Jamaica 🇯🇲
Have this exact car for over 2 years now and Love it
7:14 Tide 2 Go sponsor for the stain cleanup LETS GO BOYS
D*MN This is my new favorite!! I saw one on I-77 about a month or two ago and I couldn't get the name of it but knew it was an Audi!! I LOVE IT!!!
🇺🇸 Love the videos. Been watching for years!
I saw one of these yesterday (not sure if RS), but they look damn gorgeous in-person. It's one of the few cars that you can't stop looking at, imo
🇺🇸 I'll never afford a car this expensive, but this was a fun video to watch.
(Hopefully more of the fun electric abilities will trickle down the line-ups. And the infrastructure improves. But glad you guys keep pointing it out, and reporting on it.)
I remember thinking the same the first time I saw it - like that is the first EV I actually WANT to buy. Then I saw the price. Luckily they depreciate like crazy when used. Even with only like 3,000 miles on them.
Love the review guys. Any chances to review another old cars? Let me know.
Ya coming soon
One of the best looking car out there. Thanks for the content though 🙏🇦🇪
I was actually charging my Polestar 2 at the same as Yuri and the guy in the e-tron. Can confirm it was a rich guy who couldn't use his garage. Was the first time he'd ever fast charged actually.
It’s actually funny, I was looking for an SSD w/ Thunderbolt! Thanks for the recommendation y’all
I can't believe that the RS Etron GT can also do the Taycan Challenge❤️
Love from South Africa🇿🇦
I think the Ionic 5N is the best hope for a fun electric car right now, with both shiftable gears and a corresponding sound. If I had to get an electric car that might be the only tolerable option. Plus it apparently will handle way better than EV6 GT (according to Albert Biermann).
I just leased the regular e-tron GT in black and its a great daily driver. Its a perfect compliment to my Raptor and Targa GTS.
Thanks Dvshop.ca and Sandisk ! Jakub meant to say 2,500 write not 25,000
25,000 write would be absolutely mad
I was gonna say this lol
Standard Taycan Turbo is nearly the same car but better. Drove both. More fun and better build quality.
Good looking, excellent tech and impressive power! 🇳🇬
Though I can’t afford either, the Lucid Air Sapphire is the one I’d take. But this is an extremely close second.
Beautiful car. I love my Audis, but my only problem with this is my range anxiety could never...less than 250mi range...I can't :( I wish Audi will raise the range to, at the very least, 300mi. I really want to upgrade to this!!
Seriously I would swap 100hp for an extra 100 miles of range any day, everyday.
I have one. I had the same anxiety. It has NOT been an issue.
@@pp8010same, i think people who have range anxiety are people who don't have an EV. it's just not a problem once you get past "a few hours on the motorway". That being said, my experience is european, and i believe that charging networks are far more dense here, and everyone uses the same plug, so i can use tesla as well.
That intro song thou... 🇸🇪❤️
Hope you guys get to test the Lucid Air Sapphire. Crazy car!
How many times do you have to stop to charge on your way to Montreal from Toronto??
🇿🇦 cheers from Cape Town, South Africa
well that was a fun cup test!
Big up from Barbados 🇧🇧
Awesome review! 🇧🇪
I own a 22 RS Etron-GT. Love the car.
Awesome car. Still mad in love with the Taycan Sport Turismo tho
Saw one of these in "tactical green". The dookie brown contrasting with the gloss black bumper & bumper accents with no front plate made it look like the bumper had been torn off from even a medium distance.
Taycan, and in that soft pink color my friend has 😍
This is def top 3, I’d take a lucid touring dreams edition also.
Love you guys videos 🇧🇷
Looking forward that you test drive the Cadillac Lyriq! Amazing EV! What is the energy consumption in kWh/100km for the Audi?
Really cool car.
I think it’s my favorite too.
Oh and yea I always watch your videos from Nigeria 🇳🇬
Great review, love the car, if money is an issue just get used a S7 or RS7.
Quality Upload 🇿🇦
The part where you were explaining the situation around the electric charging reminded me of a skit from Tim Robinson’s “I think you should leave”
hey, from bangladesh? love watching you guys😍
👏👏 THE SHORT SHORTS YOU ARE WEARING.... 😱 lol.....have a good day everyone ✌️
@ 0:04 Damn you can already see swirl marks on the paint! Needs a paint correction, PPF and ceramic coating ASAP
For the next gen I hope Audi will do a wagon like Porsche. Those Sport Turismos are so beautiful
🇨🇦 there’s a desert in B.C. Rattlesnakes out there apparently? Kamloops I believe.
Anyone know what music this is at the start of the show? very cool..
Got it! Ballpoint - Real Phonk Anthem
🇿🇦 Shout out from SA!
Good Review...gonna go hybrid rather than full EV.
Be careful with those SanDisk drives. There are lots of reports of certain models (Extreme Pro) suddenly failing. It seems that there is a firmware fix now, but make sure you have other backups to be safe.
🇨🇴 great video guys
Intro music is awesome
How is the write faster than the read on the sandisk?
What's up from Dallas TX. 🇺🇸
0:17 what is the song name for the intro. Anyone know?
I almost got one when I went in to get a Q4 etron because they were making killer deals on leases for them. I guess they're not selling well for some reason. I was VERY tempted to go for it. Maybe once this lease is up I'll go for it.
This cost 3 times the Q4 eTron on a lease
I just saw that VW's Electrify Can/Murica stations will start adding the Tesla (nacs) charger to their stations, so maybe VW will adopt NACS natively. That would be neat, VW Buzz with Tesla charger would be nice.
Great review, love the car. But how come no mention of Lucid or Tesla Plaid?
🇺🇦 Awesome reviews, guys 👌😎
Feels relaxing watching these 🤜🤛
Every EV in Canada should come with a heat pump as standard equipment.
The way Yuri said "Open your eyes bud" might have been the most canadian moment I've seen on this channel.
Name of that fire intro song please 🙏
Yeah…Canada has deserts (the Mojave desert goes into southern BC).
Yesterday I was in Drumheller and saw rattlesnakes and a cactii.
I thought you only had dinosaurs
Whats that song in thr intro??
Black only looks clean right after you're washed it.
Make mine a flat pewter colour with that interior.
Please do the Sandisk launch test every time lol.
One of the best looking EVs on the market. Not sure that I’d take this over a Lucid, but great exterior styling anyhow.
One reason to prefer it might be that lucid doesn’t seem to be doing so hot at the moment. At least we know that Audi will be around in 10 years.
The most common issue people have with Lucid is how they look. Not an attractive car at all. They have amazing range that's helped out by their awkward looking body though
@@itcangetbetter I think they look perfect for the role they are. It’s a luxury limo. Styling queues echo most other sedans in the segment.
@@TomYourmombadil Lucid doesn't make anything like a luxury limo. It's certainly a luxury price, but the interior and exterior don't reflect that. Again, incredible take though
@@itcangetbetter none of the luxury brands exude luxury on the exterior these days. Lucid looks more reserved and stately than the current 7 series, A8, definitely the current EQS. Yes, the interior isn’t as nice materials wise as the EQ cars, but it is certainly very luxurious. Like the grand touring is objectively luxury limo style. I really don’t get people saying it looks atrocious because from a graphic standpoint there literally is not enough there to look bad. Not saying they’re perfect, but it looks like what it’s supposed to be.
Pick mine up on Monday.
3:36 What are we seeing here? Why are the droplets different colors? Is the paint doing this or the electrochromatic roof?
Are the rotors drilled?
Perfect for hotboxing while its charging
Absolutely love this car😭😭😭
Shout out from Malaysia 🇲🇾
Hey guys 👋🏼 Jordan in the house !! 🇯🇴

🇹🇹Shouting out from Trinidad and Tobago
Looks good but I just seen a 22 e torn that was a lemon buy back for 55k 😅
