I'd personally take the Taycan based on the looks (the thing I can compare from outside). Driven the Taycan 4S and was mesmerized by the performance and steering feel, but have to try out the eTron. Doubt it will better the Taycan's experience though I rarely see well spec'd Taycans for my taste however, I feel like the Audi is easier to get it right w/o splashing so much cash on extras
Having had an EV (Jaguar I-pace) for about 2 years, let me tell you how sporty EV's are mostly driven: even though the range says 225-240 miles, you'll not get that unless you get stuck in freeway traffic going along at 10-20mph with no A/C or heat going. Once you get up to about 60mph, turn on the A/C or hit any hills....your range will start to drop. For the most part, you'll drive efficiently and preserve your range....but every now and then, you unleash the monster and have some fun. I'd say I drive like nice & clean about 98% of the time and just open it up every now and then. Between these 2 cars, I'd buy the Porsche because it's the real-deal badass name and may carry better resale. If you're gonna go big, hit it hard and do it right. As for popping for the upper echelon model and getting all the options....it's fun to have the flagship and never feel outdone but it's hardly worth the cost in terms of practicality. Trust me, the Jag is damn fast enough for anyone....when you're doing 90mph it feels like 60mph and when I let friends drive it I constantly have to point out how fast they're going without realizing it. As for acceleration, it'll pin you to the seat plenty fine. No, it's not a Plaid Tesla but the honest difference in speed is paper impressive but real world marginal. The bigger problem is that there's gonna be some INCREDIBLE stuff coming down the line in a couple years so is blowing big coin on today's tech really the smart move? I mean, heck, if Ford EV's the new Bronco I'd jump on that and wait for a legit 2-door sport car that'll smoke the Taycan cause at the end of the day it's still a big-ass 4-seater SEDAN/HATCHBACK/CROSSOVER and not a real hardcore legit sports car....things to think about but a GREAT problem to have!
well let me tell a simple thing as well: not all EVs are created equal. my rs etron 2023 gets 300 miles when my wife drives it at 70mph on highway. I get 180 driving like 80-110mph.
I just dragraced the RS E-Tron GT in the very same spec, against the 2021 R8 V10 Performance. And boy was I surprised by the result. I guess we just have to embrace the future...
I’ll take the E-Tron GT just to be different and cause I like the interior tech better as there are less screens. Looks better too imo. Def not biased as an Audi owner 😂
Though most people will just see a nice Audi, while with the Taycan, they see a Porsche. So if you wanna stick out as different I think it's the Porsche..
@@Todestuete who gives a crap what people think 😂. I personally prefer the low key aspect of the E-tron and the Audi brand overall. The interior is better, I think the exterior is better, it’s cheaper...so you’d really have to be a brand snob to choose the Porsche just cause it’s a Porsche.
ikr the taycan front end looks like an ugly frog and the side is just boring ,but the rear is good tho ,still prefer audi for those taillights and taycan taillights are too dimmed
Both seem like great cars. There are two main differences for me. The Audi's interior- Simple and familiar. Also, the Taycan is very similar looking to other Porsche's, the Audi is unique in it's styling all to itself. I guess one can't go wrong with either if you want to spend the money on either of these vehicles.
Seen a few nice taycans for last few months and just saw my first Rs GT today. Have to say audi was stunning way more road prescence that this film doesnt portray. Audi looked really special
In my experience, this is 100% true. The Taycan is beautiful but the times that I’ve seen RS GTs, they are breathtaking. The road presence factor is legit
Me too. I've always loved the way Audi coupes look but this Porsche looks better. To me the headlights design makes it look better than the other Porsches
I have driven both and I have decided to buy the etron gt. It looks in reality way better than the Taycan and its more comfortable to drive. My friend have the Taycan and he said the same, that the etron GT looks more stunni!
@@aluttestephen682 I got the RS Etron GT. Love it. It's a very smooth and comfortable car in comfort mode and extremely fast in dynamic. Definitely gets a lot more attention than I thought it would. I got the car in Daytona Grey, so I was assuming it would just blend in with other cars in traffic/parking lots. But it was the opposite. Often you'll get people taking pictures/videos of the car while on the road, red lights, parking, etc. The interior is more classy, but not as "showy" compared to other EV cars at this price range. The Taycan or EQS have a lot more "spaceship" type interior with all the extra screens. EQS has crazy ambient lighting and such, while the E-Tron is relatively, a bit boring. It's nearly the same interior as the new A3s. Just doesn't match the 160k USD cost. But some people do prefer having buttons over extra screens. The car doesn't have much range either. The car has a limit to only charge up to 80% (Which is an adjustable setting). On 100% full charge, the car gets 250 miles (400km), which really isn't much compared to a lot of the new EV's now-a-days. I use the car for daily commutes, so I find myself charging it at home quite frequently. This isn't a problem for me, but I can imagine it being a problem for others. Mine came with the Carbon Fiber roof, so I don't have the Glass roof. The Carbon Fiber roof was cooler, but I much prefer the glass roof as it makes the car more "feel" more spacious. However, if you're ordering the car, you can get either roof's for the same price. These cars have massive ceramic brakes. So stopping feels great and the wheels won't accumulate much break dust either, making them look cleaner and shinier. I have the same wheels as the ones in this video and they definitely do stand out a lot in person. One other issue with this car is depreciation. I'd imagine it's the same for the Taycan. But my car's sticker was at 160k. 1 year later, the car dropped to 125k. Now it's at 109k. The car has a "fake" exterior and interior noise that's made while driving/de-accelerating. It's quite loud and sound different from other EVs. It's unique enough that it makes people turn their heads, but if you're a person that loves the sound of a gas engine, you'll definitely miss it.
I would be equally happy with one or the other... they both look great, performance is amazing, interior well sorted... well maybe, just slightly I would prefer the Porsche because I'm still not a fan of the "grill" on the Audi and those very visible sensor underneath.

I think having physical buttons for the AC is a good idea in the Audi, but am I the only one that thinks the graphics look so cheap? Surely not worthy of a 110k car!
I was in love with the porsche exterior until I noticed the fake air vent.. this is one of my biggest automotive design pet peeves.. based on that one reason alone, I'd buy the audi over the porsche.
Both cars are truly amazing and if you bought either one yourself then fair play but I personally prefer the Audi E-tron GT I actually had a test drive in one of these and it was an amazing experience I wish I had the money to afford it because I would definitely buy one myself 👌
I've never liked Audi's and always loved Porsche but with these two cars I've switched around. I much prefer the Audi and don't like the Taycan at all.
Wow even after seeing so many vids on the Taycan I had no idea it was an ergonomic nightmare. Porsche really dropped the ball, minus the headrest, all headrests should be like that
@@Ho_Lii_Fuk Sports/Supercars can be ergonomic too, look at McLaren. This isn't a sports car it's an everyday sedan, Audi obviously saw the mistakes Porsche made.
I’m sure someone has pointed it out Matt, but if your seating position and steering wheel is positioned properly the gaps in the panel match where your steering wheel goes. (On the taycan)
IMO Taycan has the best exterior because it looks like a Porsche, e-tron GT has the best interior because it has better air-con controls and Android Auto.
The physical buttons in the interior are reason enough to get the Audi. For the charging port, manual is much better because in the winter it won't break the motor or latch if it's frozen.
e-tron's colour ruins it imo, if it was that darker grey or maybe a forest green like the RS6, it'd be way better. The new dogshit EV license plates don't help either.

I think having physical buttons for the AC is a good idea in the Audi, but am I the only one that thinks the graphics look so cheap? Surely not worthy of a 110k car!
Rlly? Ive never noticed it

I was in love with the porsche exterior until I noticed the fake air vent.. this is one of my biggest automotive design pet peeves.. based on that one reason alone, I'd buy the audi over the porsche.
Just FYI, the vent is only blocked if you opt for the electric charging port. Skip that option and the vent is not blocked, just like the Audi.
There is no fake air vents on porsche front ones(under the lights) help to cool brakes
The solid roof of the E tron GT makes it the better choice for me and my wife. The last thing we want is more sun in the car.
It is kWh (Kilo-watt-hour) not kW! kW is a unit for power, it's like saying the car uses 69 horse power per 100 km
@@MathiasBacher I'm a watt?
Both cars are truly amazing and if you bought either one yourself then fair play but I personally prefer the Audi E-tron GT I actually had a test drive in one of these and it was an amazing experience I wish I had the money to afford it because I would definitely buy one myself 👌
I've never liked Audi's and always loved Porsche but with these two cars I've switched around. I much prefer the Audi and don't like the Taycan at all.
The net and the shopping bag hook can be purchased as a Skoda part almost 3 times cheaper than the porsche one 🙂
Oh this is an AMAZING match… I LOVE both of these cars
That audis side profile is sleeeekkk🔥

Wow even after seeing so many vids on the Taycan I had no idea it was an ergonomic nightmare. Porsche really dropped the ball, minus the headrest, all headrests should be like that
Its a bit of a sportscar really. And its only the first gen, so the next ones would be better
th-cam.com/video/U79sEXSEb0I/w-d-xo.html
It's supposed to be sporty tho and didn't Matt say that the front seats are amazing like in every porsche
@@Ho_Lii_Fuk Sports/Supercars can be ergonomic too, look at McLaren. This isn't a sports car it's an everyday sedan, Audi obviously saw the mistakes Porsche made.
long awaited. Carwow reads minds i guess

Now please make skoda enyaq Vs VW ID 4 Vs Audi Etron Q4

The Porsche is better because it’s a Porsche. No argument here
That shows you know nothing about cars

e-tron's colour ruins it imo, if it was that darker grey or maybe a forest green like the RS6, it'd be way better. The new dogshit EV license plates don't help either.

I know looks are subjective; everyone can have their own opinion, but I, in every angle, love the audi rs eton gt much more then the taycan when it comes to looks
I hope there will be a cross turismo equivalent from Audi. An Audi EV super wagon would be amazing.
Audi RS E-Tron GT for me 😎
Audi interior, Porsche exterior. Overall, I'd take the Audi. Both SEXY
I like the e-tron wheels and for some reason they remind of the ID3’s but the e-tron gt has limited choice:(

Taycan is definitly the most beautiful model Porshe ever made. The way they integrated headlights is amazing comparing to 911, that huge vents under the headlights just make the difference. On the other hand, Audi's interior is just way more beautiful. It's so hard to choose.
