So I configured an E-Ray the same as my own C8 convertible and it came out with a price of almost $200k CAD all in. As far as I'm concerned, this is a supercar!

Imagine swapping in a really dense motor like from a Tesla M3P, and putting additional batteries and some capacitors in the trunk 🤤 it would be as fun and unstable as a Polestar 1 😂

Toyota has been doing this with their 23+ sequoia and tundra with the V6 Twin turbo hybrid, they are amazing super underrated torquey engines

@@marashamalcolm7704 The E-Ray isn't a hypercar, it's a value supercar, so apples to oranges. The upcoming ZR-1 and Zora would be a better comparison but we don't know what these models will be like until they're finally released.
It's impressive what GM is doing with the C8. If they've already released GT3 and Turbo equivalents, the top version will have 918 performance.

@@jasonknight5863nothing wrong with a hybrid. More power for better gas mileage and it’s not as dependent as an electric vehicle. You don’t need to stop to charge on trips, you make a cool 40 mpg, and you make a lot more power while doing it, without giving up the reliability and practicality of a gas engine. The Ferrari SF90 Stradale is a V8 hybrid as well, the Lamborghini Revuelto is a V12 hybrid and those are both awesome, incredibly fast and wicked sounding cars. Hybrids aren’t electric. They have the power of electric with everything else good from the gas

I think I just found my new favorite car of all time. What an incredible machine.
Absolutely love the cosmetic "changes" they made to the E-Ray.
Having an AWD Corvette model raises the C8 a couple of notches in the all-round driveability department. It makes driving a Corvette four seasons more of a possibility in colder climates, which wasn't realistic in the past, to say the least. This changes the game for those who've always wanted a Corvette but didn't want the hassle of multiple vehicle ownership for driving in winter. Very desirable. Fantastic car and impressive technology that it comes with.
@@need-money-for-porsche Not to mention resale value. That said, GM is trying to market the E-Ray as an all season supercar despite the possibility of winter-related damages. I should ask a dealer their opinion on what the consequences of winter driving this car could be.
This car sounds perfect. The mix of electric whine and V8 rumble is absolutely what I imagine futuristic cars sound like, so cool

The opening launch sequence reminded me immediately of “BACK TO THE FUTURE” when Marty Mcfly first got in the Delorian and hit 88mph. Yuri’s face turn to Jacob was classic!
On the waiting list for the E-ray with a local dealer. Will probably take 2 years to get it but this review validates my decision to buy an Eray instead of the ZO6. Can’t wait!

The less aggressive looking body, the different colors and new wheels along with all wheel drive, this might be my favorite iteration of the C8

Great video, wish you could’ve shown side views of all of the cars! Trying to see which color I like the best, torn between the blue and black.
What we did with the c8 is we set the Z mode button with the traction control settings that work in launch control, so now when we enter Z mode, you double click the Z button to confirm traction control settings are limited (if you don’t double click it’s normal Z mode) then launch control works just like that, so it’s a click of a button twice in a row, and boom it works, no need to go into infotainment and all
That's awesome, I did the same thing on my ZO6 for the launch control setup. I tried to set it up for one of my friends that has a stingray and I researched it and because he didn't have the magnetic adaptive ride couldn't be done. Only works if you have a car with the magnetic suspension.
In August I did a road trip from Mississauga to Colorado and driving some twisty historic mountain byways there was super fun. Driving through Kansas to get there wasn't as fun, though.

Wow I am bummed I didn't realize that the Yuri and Jakub were in Colorado testing the new Corvette. That drag strip and a lot of the windy roads they were driving on are only a few minutes from my house. Hopefully next time they do a fan meetup when they're back in Colorado. Corvette C8 is stunning every one C8, Z06,E-Ray and no doubt ZR1 and Zora editions.. performance, bulletproof engine,design,toys, styling.. no other car comes close and for the money…😱😱😱😀 Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The ZR1 is going to be the Z06 NA V8 with like 350 HP in electric assistance for 1000 combined HP. It's going to be absurdly fast.
No it won’t. The ZR1 will essentially be a twin turbo version of the Z06 with more aggressive aero. What you’re talking about is the final version called the Zora.

Not having the Z06 engine is a dope choice, the Crossplane sound and the AWD is an awesome combo.

You really don't, Z06 engine with the motor and battery from the eray. ~830hp and ~600lb/ft. Supposedly the LT7 is coming, but who knows if they are doing another trim.

What about maintenance? Can the battery pack and front motors be swapped out fairly easily? I know GM had some issues with the Volt in the past.

I have a 2017 NSX and absolutely love my underrated car. I'm sitting at #1 at my Ontario dealership for the E-Ray and it will be fun to compare both. At the moment the NSX has an advantage with torque vectoring but it should be fun to compare.
Man that NSX is such a gorgeous car. Probably one of my favorites. Along with the LF, Carrera and Ford GT.
Do not trade that NSX for this GM. Mistake in the making it sounds.
The NSX cannot perform like a Corvette. The Corvette will destroy it on back roads and straight roads and on a track. Not even close

Uhh Cacti color match? Yes please! Still waiting for a 'Bowling Green Metallic' as a dark green option (I just made that up) but ill take Cacti in the meantime. Best looking C8 so far...Z06 bodywork, monochrome colors, and fully modernized powertrain. I'm in.

Great review. Realistic and practical as well as factual.
As a older 2015 ZO6 owner the E-ray fits better for me. Having been on the list for the new ZO6 for 3 years and not willing to pay $50K over MSRP, I will opt for the E-ray. Hopefully we don't have to go through the same games as waiting for the ZO-6. General Motors and the dealers need to think of the customers first, rather than trying to rape their customers.
