This is probably the best idea for a TH-cam video ever. Just some interesting likeable and passionate people talking about some of their most valued memories regarding their most valued games ever, plus cozy feels. I love this so much.
I don't know if somebody cares or read this but this is my story. I'm from Chile so my English is not perfect. In my country, technology in the 90's and the first half of the 00's was very expensive so I had my first console in 2003, a PSone. I remember that I had a Rugrats game and Metal Slug X, but I didn't liked it that much. One day my uncle gave me the best present that I can remember: Crash Bandicoot 2. It was the first game that I was obsessed with, I played the shit out of it, it was insane. I was like 7 years old, and my parents bought me a bike, I never used that bike because of my obsession with Crash 2. I had that Play Station for a very long time, and when my grandmother bought me a PS2 I didn't care, I still played Crash 2 with a shitty controller that gave me electric shocks because it was so used and destroyed that the sweat in my hands conducted electricity I think. It's not a great story but this video inspired me to write about it. Thanks Jakey.
My dad always had video games around the house, as he was a electronics nerd and used to rebuild arcade machines in the barn when he was a teen. There are many fond memories of him and I playing street fighter 2 against each other on the SNES and Spyro on the PSX... But hands down, my favorite game has to be Metal Gear Solid 2 on the PS2. My dad always had to have the newest and best audio system, and when dolby 2.1 surround came out he bought a whopping 50" flatscreen (the giant ones that were about 5 feet tall and 4 feet deep) and MGS2 on the PS2, as it was one of the few games that supported Dolby Surround Sound. I knew then that video games had reached the perfect point in sound (great soundtrack), video (hideo kojima is a legend of cinematography), story (I need scissors 67), and gameplay (play the game please, it speaks for itself) that anything that came after would be derivative. From that first fateful day we let the intro play on our 2.1, I knew that video games would change my life. I have beaten MGS2 over 100 times, and every time I come back it feels new. Thank you, Hideo Kojima, for my childhood and the bonding experience with my Dad.
MGS2 was THE game that got me into gaming. Replaying much later was also so amazing as I actually understood what was being said and what was happening(most of the time, its mgs2).
MGS2 was my first game, it has a very soft place in my heart. I never really beat it as a kid because I was always stuck at the section where you had to take pictures of the Metal Gear to send to Otacon. I didn't complete it until I got the remastered for the PS3, which I'm happy I got passed all the game eventually. It, along with MGS 3 are my favorite games of all times. MGS2 has given me the most memories from a game as a child, and I didn't even beat the game until so much later. It's just a really fun game to replay, it will always hold a place in my heart for what it does.
Gus talking about Skyrim makes me so happy, because it's also my favorite game and I can relate to what he's saying so much - pretty sure other people can too. I'm away at college and I don't have any way to play it and it makes me so sad, because there are times where I go "Oh, I really wish I could play Skyrim right now".
@@bakar2134 Whatever you want really. Wander around and experience the world in whatever ways you're drawn to. My favorite thing to do is collect all the different books in the game and display them in a library in my house.
@@marciamakesmusic oh I absolutely love reading the books of skyrim as well. I've read almost all of them. After finishing the main storyline of the game, I would often switch on my pc and play the game just so that I could stroll through the inventory and read every book that i had acquired throughout the game. Some of the stories had a very ancient, old and mythical touch to them even though the script was probably written by modern writers. Skyrim is probably one of the best things to have ever happened to me.
I love you my nakey boy, a lot of your videos make me tear up because you talk about videogames in a way that i can just feel your love for something i love too. Also just love the music my boy, just keep rocking on, we love you
The warmth and nostalgia that oozes from this video, and hearing all these people that I look up to’s stories really struck a chord with me. It makes me reminisce on my own to playing video games with all my friends and just gives me a feeling of deep enjoyment and happiness in life, knowing I can relate to so many wonderful people and experiences and somehow the subtle music, editing and casual feeling just add so much more to the feeling. Amazing video Jakey x -Just One Hot Boy
This isn't a video of TH-camrs Talking About Their Favorite Games, it's a video about smart, observant people talking about the things they love. The editing, music, and interview technique are all so good. Amazing work.
Aardude It seems like they got all of the best personalities on the platform. Only one I would add would be Vaddi to talk about his love for the Dark Souls series.
These videos are always so fascinating to me. Hopefully this really is just episode one. It's refreshing to see something presented in a "here's why I personally like this game so much," kind of way versus the "here's why this game is the best and you're an idiot if it's not your favorite too," way.
4:51 I can challenge Danny on that, and it warmed my heart so much to hear him talking about a game that means so much to me. Growing up I also wasn't the biggest gamer ever--all the video games I played were the occasional computer game my parents bought, with the exception of a Gameboy Color my neighbor didn't want anymore and a few years later a DS I got for my birthday. But in 4th grade the only guy in my class (I was in a private school for a few years) was getting rid of his Gamecube, and even though he was going to sell it when he heard I didn't have a console he gave it to me, along with any of his games that I thought looked good. It was such a genuine and generous thing for a kid to do, and it changed my childhood so much--not really because of the single player games (which I loved) but because of the multiplayer ones. My cousins and I were at the point in our lives where we were growing out of playing characters in the backyard, and this came at the perfect time for us to bond over. We'd passed around the handheld consoles I'd owned, but it's just not the same experience as a real multiplayer game. We spent so much time playing Melee and Wario Ware and Monkey Ball 2, and all three games became a huge part of all of our childhoods. Monkey Ball 2 especially is such a goofy and fun game, and we'd spent hours racing or playing the target game Danny was talking about. It makes me really happy that someone else knows how special and fun that game is.
I love that I’ve somehow come full circle from getting hooked on Eddy’s videos, feeding into their podcast with Gus, binging his content and being led to Danny and Drew who are both incredible finally going down the Nerd City rabbit hole and finally reaching my first nakey jakey video where all the boys are together and being wholesome, there really is nothing better than boy’s supporting boy’s
ahhhh Drew talking about KH and then the music in the background and everything really has me tearing up because I feel the same and never hear anybody else talking about KH and especially coming from Drew ahh and everyone else as well this video is beautiful 👏🏼
MassiveGat Hell Yea honestly I think out of every game I’ve ever played the one that stands out to me the most is Borderlands 2 and I still can’t figure out why. I’m pretty sure it’s the story though with how they have such a memorable villain with such memorable characters. I still get sad to this day when thinking about Bloodwings death
I still play it everyday these days.. Every few months I pick it up again and play it for weeks/months. There's so much replayability. I loved Borderlands 1 as well and I still remember how excited I was when the sequel was announced. Like you said, Borderlands 2 is a sequel done right. Very few things are actually better in BL1, though. But overall Borderlands 2 has so much more to offer and is an improvement in almost every single way
I like how I got exactly what the title said. No premise, or motive for the question to be over-analyzed, no exaggerations in the editing, just pure appreciation. I can appreciate that. I just love hearing people talk about stuff they like, even when it didn't resonate with me.
This video is so wholesome to me, but the thing I love the most is how everyone talks about how these games basically made their childhood or how it influenced them in some way and then there’s Danny: *“Haha monke go brr”*
This made me remember playing my first videogames as a kid with my brother, 'sneaking out' to get on the ps2 and play lego starwars late at night with the volume at like 2. Or when we first got a family computer and I installed a *hot new* game called roblox, ended up playing that game with my cousin every day for almost 3 years. Or when me and my brother shared a save on ratchet and clank and 100%'ed the game after months and months of trying. Good times, That helped us through the bad times. Honestly I think everyone has *that game* or *that console* that helped them through difficult times in their lives (Moving, Divorce, Abuse, ETC ETC)
I lived a wierd childhood, I moved A LOT. I lived in 5 countries before the age of 13, and in that time I never had a permanent friend. It was to move in to a new place, make friends and forget them because we had to move again. And it left me empty inside. I didn't have a playstation 3, I had a wii. And I remember I had a ton of fun, it was my biggest escape at the time to everything happening. It helped me retain my sanity, it helped me create my inner world.Eleven years passed and I arrived to my native country emotional wreck and not knowing a single thing, I never really found friends in the school I would end up graduating from. Later I would go on to have a playstation 3 and a N64 during my senior years in High School(or it's equivalent from where I'm from) and I can recall two experiences that truly had a before and after in me. The first was oneday when I roamed the flee market and found a shitty old version of the Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time, I had played Wind Waker, Twilight Princess and the Four Swords adventures up to this point, but I can say without a doubt that it was Ocarina of Time that rocked my world. It was so goddam ambitious, so stunning, so flawlessly fun, it got me through some rough times. The second time was with a sort of spiritual succesor to OOT, Shadow of The Colossus on the PS3. The first time I played it I enjoyed it very much yet it didn't affect the me the way OOT did, no. This time, I had a friedn with whom we took turns to try and beat the game on it's highest difficulty on the PS3 remastered version. By the time we began doing this we were already in college, and it took us TWO years to finally finish it. But man, was it worth it, and I'll never forget it. There was a silence like few I ever experienced in my life. Games have a power unlike any other medium, they're interactive art in the truest sense of the word, my interests are now more mucis related yet whenever I feel down, I boot up my ps3 and dive in to these fantastical worlds. Nakey, your videos are amazing and very sincere in you delivery. Never stop doing these
I really enjoy artistic videos like thid. Just hearing someone talk about their favorite games and you can hear the passion in their voice. Plus that music is A1. Keep this on TH-cam forever
Man I keep forgetting about how Halo 3 was such a larger-than-life game. Even now it stands out as the most fun I've had in multiplayer. Eddie's custom games every day after school really speaks to my youth. Then there was all the red vs blue, arby n the chief, mtn dew etc, etc that went with it all. Truly legendary game.
i remember sneaking out to go to an internet cafe to play counter strike 1.6 and after a month of going the owner gave me a special spot with the shittiest computer cause i couldnt afford to pay so id sweep for an hour just so i can play haha. it was nice till my parent found out haha

@@taylorwhoever he said "parent" not "parents". Obvs that single parent was just trying to do the best with her...obviously mistaken, assumptions. But yeah it is a sweet story.
I know this wasn't intended but this made me bummed out because im remembering these times when i would be able to have great times in TF2 with my friends for a few years but then they kinda fell out of my life and i cant enjoy TF2 that much anymore since none of my friends play it anymore. Along with the modern gaming scene where there been barely any games that can give the same experiences as any of these older games that came out in that 2000-2010 era, like there are amazing games like stardew valley, overwatch, smash bros., all kinds of other shit but I can't really enjoy any of this stuff since my friends move on from this stuff and im kinda forced to move on with them. IDK man, atleast the start of my life had great games to support it, but now i gotta find other stuff to fill the time i spend alone. Also this would all be spicy good if Valve just made games again, but then again who fucking knows if they can make good games anymore since a lot of the people who made those games back then have left valve, so who knows if L4D3 or Portal 3 or Artifact or whatever would even be as good as the older games they made. But hey im pretty sure they're making VR stuff and if they follow that trend of being revolutionary then VR might just get amazing. Sorry if this is written horribly i kinda just write like im ranting Edit: Great to see im not alone on this, also for anyone wondering i currently have 834 hours on TF2, the first 600 i feel were part of that golden age of TF2 in my life Edit 2: That point about Valve doing VR stuff isn't that valid though since I think they did an interview where VR right now is not in a great place in the market where there is a good reason for the casual user to buy a headset, even if they dropped down to $200. So lets hope Artifact shows the level of perfection valve likes to have and then we just have to be patient after that. Now it's time to get my ass of TH-cam and actually appreciate some vidya gams
Jake is a gift on youtube and i am trutly greatfuli found his channel, he has aloud me to see my love for video games as something that is normal, thanks Jake

The way Gus talks about Skyrim... its uncanny how much it's like how I feel about my most-played game, Animal Crossing. From that first fateful day we let the intro play on our 2.1, I knew that video games would change my life. I have beaten MGS2 over 100 times, and every time I come back it feels new. Thank you, Hideo Kojima, for my childhood and the bonding experience with my Dad.
IReadCreepyPastas this is beautiful, thank you for sharing.
My maaan, Metal Gear Solid will always be my favorite series ever. Such an amazing story with kick ass music and fun and charming gameplay
This man nakey jakey played the “Skyrim Atmospheres” 30 minute sample through out the entire video, what a legend
I'm currently hearing the ff8 roaming music... it's not all Skyrim.
Deeply beloved from kingdom hearts is another
Actually im pretty sure he just plays tracks from games they picked
Anyone has a list of all the songs he used cause they were amazing
Honestly I would just start by looking up the soundtracks to the games they mentioned.
Get a switch, skyrim actually runs pretty well and its portable. it also is 1080p docked and 720p hand-held. Its an awesome investment
Or just get a PC instead. Switch's library is very limited.
Damn im trynna get into skyrim what do you even do in that game
@@bakar2134 Whatever you want really. Wander around and experience the world in whatever ways you're drawn to. My favorite thing to do is collect all the different books in the game and display them in a library in my house.
@@marciamakesmusic oh I absolutely love reading the books of skyrim as well. I've read almost all of them. After finishing the main storyline of the game, I would often switch on my pc and play the game just so that I could stroll through the inventory and read every book that i had acquired throughout the game. Some of the stories had a very ancient, old and mythical touch to them even though the script was probably written by modern writers. Skyrim is probably one of the best things to have ever happened to me.

i did this with my sister as well. i cant remember exactly why, but it was just much more fun that way.

I like how theres little editing other than cutting to each other, so you'll catch them thinking back to the times they played it for a second or two
The "Dearly Beloved" piano theme in the background.. Brings back many memories.
Each one of your videos have so much heart, this is what makes you one of the best on the platform, Thank you.
Naked Jacob you did it again. Such a wonderful video.
Wow a "TH-camrs doing *thing*" where I can actually recognize all the youtubers
Aardude It seems like they got all of the best personalities on the platform. Only one I would add would be Vaddi to talk about his love for the Dark Souls series.
Dave could easily be a Final Fantasy character !
May I introduce you to his FFVII rap? (th-cam.com/video/z-eJDoa6BJY/w-d-xo.html) He's cosplaying as Sephiroth in the thumbnail
It makes me really happy that someone else knows how special and fun that game is.
you fucking idiot.

I think my favorite game of all time might be Borderlands 2. If there's ever been an example of what a sequel should be, it's Borderlands 2
Right? It's fantastic. I wish I still had it to play
But overall Borderlands 2 has so much more to offer and is an improvement in almost every single way
I personally aren't a big fan of Borderlands. I like destiny more
Yeah I still put so many hours into it lmao Krieg is so much fun to play as
I like how I got exactly what the title said. No premise, or motive for the question to be over-analyzed, no exaggerations in the editing, just pure appreciation. I can appreciate that.
I just love hearing people talk about stuff they like, even when it didn't resonate with me.
This video introduced me to yourself and all of these other TH-camrs. Thank you for making the last year of my life so enjoyable!
I love how you can tell Drew is exactly the same IRL as he is in his videos, even in a more serious video he’s still making bits and jokes
My favorite video game/series is Borderlands. Straight up. It's humorous, cool art style, and fun.
Agreed
This video is so wholesome to me, but the thing I love the most is how everyone talks about how these games basically made their childhood or how it influenced them in some way and then there’s Danny:
*“Haha monke go brr”*

Sorry if this is written horribly i kinda just write like im ranting
Edit: Great to see im not alone on this, also for anyone wondering i currently have 834 hours on TF2, the first 600 i feel were part of that golden age of TF2 in my life
Edit 2: That point about Valve doing VR stuff isn't that valid though since I think they did an interview where VR right now is not in a great place in the market where there is a good reason for the casual user to buy a headset, even if they dropped down to $200. So lets hope Artifact shows the level of perfection valve likes to have and then we just have to be patient after that. Now it's time to get my ass of TH-cam and actually appreciate some vidya gams
