I’m so confused how someone with a home gym, who seems to regularly use it, can complain about stairs. Like, hitting the gym every day is fine, but *walking up stairs* is too much effort?
My building doesn’t have a gym, the stairs ARE my gym!

Haha right? I used to be very lazy and avoid as much work as i could, like stairs. Then i lost about 40 lbs and i realized that i shouldn't avoid doing stuff and stairs are a great opportunity to burn calories.

@@chocolategoose7350 I can reveal that the reason they are so expensive is that they _absolutely suck and take forever of misery_ to do yourself. After working non-stop on the like, 15 tiles to do the floor in my tiny bathroom, I had to pull two consecutive all-nighters to finish in time for the realtor valuation and photos at the end of the two weeks I allocated to get it done by.
On the plus side, I no longer felt annoyed at myself for previously just paying to get the rest of the house done at what I'd thought was probably too much to justify when I should have done it myself. No. Having fucked around and found out in the bathroom afterwards, it was 100% well spent and cheap for saving me the job it would have been.

It'd be more understandable for a very old mansion or estate or villa or what-have-you, the kind where live-in servants were expected and necessary. Or if you were planning on housing a large, extended family, or a bunch of your friends. But for just a nuclear family? Nah. Unless you have some other plans for that space, it's really excessive. I'd have connected some of them up and built some big rooms which you could do something cool with, like building massive train-sets or LEGO creations with your kids, or something equally fun and space-consuming.

I kinda do feel bad for their kids though, having to move house so often at such young ages because their parents just have to get a bigger place, like, every year. My family moved once when I was 6, and that was really traumatic for me and my 8-year-old brother (he'd also been through an different move when he was about 2). I can't imagine how that would be for kids younger than that.

    • @zakosist

Ive moved around a lot as a child, already from I was 4 and never thought it was traumatic. Although I was sad that my parents divorced for a while and wanted the whole family gathered (but realize later that wouldn't be the best). You sorta just get used to moving in my opinion, but the circumstances around it can matter. But maybe it happening earlier first time for me made it easier to adapt. Another issue is maybe do they actually have the main focus in life or raising their children and give them a good upbringing, or does it turn superficial focusing mainly on their internet fame and luxury?

omg I'm 20 y/o, also in college and I just moved to a two bedroom apartment (with a friend of mine, no way I would be able to afford it alone, yikes) and I didn't remember how nice it is to have a bedroom since I lived in a studio apartment before this. It isn't huge BUT it is cozy and just enough space for two people.
It's actually almost 150e/month cheaper for me to live in this place with a friend than it was living alone in the tiny one room studio. Also, I would like to mention we split the costs 50/50 and I don't technically pay any rent from the money I make at work since the government supports students very well in my country (I get around 570e per month from the government in the form of financial aid and housing benefit, slightly more than I make at work usually. My half of rent is around 350e.) I'm aware I am very priviledged.
Moral of the story is, if you have a friend you can survive wíth and you both have jobs, finesse that relationship and live good, because two paychecks is more than one

Lots of people choose not to do that because they want to act like they have no cares for tomorrow and they buy nice stuff with it, but then... it’s gone. Living off interest is still a form of living within your means, so even though doing it means you don’t ever have to truly worry about money again (especially if you live even below that amount of money and have a nice amount saved for emergencies or to buy big expenses), but that’s just not appealing to some people. They don’t want to look at the price tags. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm sure they would describe how they were heavily involved in permits through the city, corralling contractors and workers, assisting the architect, holding the decorator's hand through all the steps, telling the movers what to pack and where to place it, etc. It's a lot of work building your own house when all these professionals are holding you back!

@@ethxzo It depends on the contracters. My aunt had her kitchen remodeled and had a great experience but right after that my friend's kitchen was detroyed by a flood and the contracter not only overcharged them but they took 2 months over the time quoted. Apparently, Google 5 star reviews are not what they seem. According to my nephew who works in construction, don't use companies known for hiring extremely underpaid workers. Inexperience and exploitation is a bad mix.
