It's funny how all these low-income people complain about Range Rovers but basically, all my family members have been leasing Range Rovers since 2007 and every 2-3 years they return the lease and get a new vehicle and never had a problem with any of them and never got stranded. I really don't know what the hate is with RR but most of the hate comes from people who never had one or can't even afford one.
True that ❤❤
So true!! Im on our 4th RR I now have a v8 110 defender and a RR sport for the wife…Haven’t had any problems and we drive the sport out west 2,500 miles 1 way never had any issues…. The envy is there!!! They can’t afford it so they bash it.. Nothing like a RR You can spot them a mile away…Good looking vehicles!!!!
I’ve had two in my lifetime. A discovery 2 and a 2017 Range Rover autobiography we bought brand new. The discovery 2 had an oil leak that the dealer told they could never fix and the drive shaft fell off while we were trying to merge onto the highway. The vehicle only had 103K miles on it and we never missed any service on it. The Range Rover didn’t even make it 30K miles with us because it had transmission issues. Car max won’t even buy certain models because they’re so 💩. The hate on them is completely justified. I live in the Permian basin where’s there’s real wealth. You know what all these millionaires drive over here? Land Cruisers and LX’s.
Buy it & then 2 days later come complaining of how JLR electronics are crap.
His money
Mazda CX 70....you're welcome
I rented a CX-30, it was good in most respects, but, the tranny shifted roughly.
lol. Ben is sick of Land Cruiser problems
I've been extremely happy with my 2023 Defender. Its mainuse is for off-roading.
You have a beautiful family. Let her choose what she wants, maybe G wagon?
I've owned so many different vehicles since 2016. I finally got it together and in 2021 drove a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk with all the options. I decided to special order the same in Black. Rides and handles great. Our one friend had recently purchased a $120,000 Land Rover and drove our Grand Cherokee. The next day he traded in his Land Rover and came by in a Grand Cherokee just like ours. We both have had no problems with neither vehicle. He can afford make or model vehicle. His company vehicle is a $140,000 Land Rover and so far has spent 2-3 month in the shop having the land Rover repaired under warranty. Once it finally repaired he plans to sell it and special order a Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve.
3 years owning my Defender NOT a single issue
@@raquelortega2383 You should've bought a lottery 🤣
@@user-oe7pr5ww2m So funny a lot of people NEVER owned a land rover but yet, they have the most negative opinion about the car....
@@raquelortega2383So true! People take what they heard and run with it screaming wolf.
I heard a subtle hint. Ben might sell everything and become a farmer
I like this video, you should make more family videos like this❤
Get a 2025 Defender X this time around (it’ll def be a nice upgrade from your previous Defender), ofc with the inline 6 (V8 is great too but not needed in a car like the Defender), if you really want to try something different, the BMW X7 is great, I recommend brand-new over used so you can spec the car to your liking
Women like SUVs because they sit up high and feel more secure. But like my wife, they look at it as something to get from point A to B, so long as it doesn’t break down. I am a car guy and enjoy driving cars that are fun to drive and are reliable, and I will never advise my wife to get something not known for reliability. I would keep shopping if I were you. Good luck.
Have you driven one? If not, they are amazing. They are pretty much the best all arounder while having near Range Rover comfort
@@stop_lying_bro test drove one but got a BMW instead.
@@gilbertferguson1685 NO WAY! You talk about reliability but then get a BMW. How ironic lol. Not trying to be sarcastic but do you see what I mean, be honest?
@@stop_lying_bro to be honest I had no reliability issues with any BMW I owned but the cost of service got to be too much so I moved on to less expensive to maintain vehicles. I liked the looks of the Defender and was thinking of buying one but comments on reliability kept me out.
I just went on a 3000+ mile trip in. 2023 Def 90 and had no issues. It averaged 20 mpg on 22” wheels. Went through mountains and desert land. Temps reached 116f degrees
Is that "Adaptive Suspension" the same as the "Air Suspension?"
Yes
You know it's inevitable.. Buy buy buy! :)
The good ol “let’s convince the wife we need this vehicle”! Love it haha. We did the same when I was considering a Range Rover. She ended up loving it too 😂. So we ended with a Supercharged Vogue.
Love my new Defender. 3 years now. Great Rover.
Stay away from the issues as u know very well get the Subaru ascent best buck for the dollars
My brother has one, 35 000 km with zero issues so far.
X is the way to go if used CPO. Worth all the extra features including the P400 power.
Buy it, love mine
My mate, whose cousins uncle had one after WW2 and it broke down.. yeah!!! Haters will always find a reason to hate 😂
Your daughter is so cute Ben. Considering I've been 'friends' or acquaintance with you for several years now, like after or before you quit Dodge, it is cool to see you go from singke to married to father. Well over 4 years now...6 years? I swear we were talking in 2016 because we were talking about the election.
Didn’t you just sell her defender you are back in one?
Hey does anyone know if Land Rover has driver assistance that actually self steers
Go for it! 🎉❤ what are you guys waiting for? The most important thing that you need to consider is how you feel when driving and with the Defender you feel powerful!!!
Nice one. I would snag it for the right price. 37k miles on an ‘23 is a bit high. Only thing missing is maybe the V8 lol?
Have you thought about getting doing a video with the Grand Wagoneer? I think that is more of an all around vehicle that you and the family would like!
Great to see you doing a review with the family...but Land Rover? nahh...get a new Land Cruiser or the Lexus version. Thanks for the content Ben.
I've heard that Land Rovers and Range Rovers have notorious reliability problems, and y'all have already gone through that. My question is: Is Land Rover dealer service ultra-epic, to where it mitigates LR products breaking down frequently, and having to have them hauled to the shop? How good is the warranty, and how long is it? What about extended warranties? You might want to check long-term reviews and Consumer Reports on all new (or used) vehicles you're considering. The make and model that is best-rated in your targeted price range is the one you might want to go for.
No issues with my Defender in 18 months
Just wait, it's coming. Sold my 2020 Defender today
Sure, purchase it. Make sure you have a warranty for the duration of your planned ownership.
Defender is a good looking suv. Pricey though
How about a Timberline Expedition?
Yes buy it amazing car
Are we doing this again?????
If you are serious about buying a Rover...you can afford the service bills
Given that you said your last Defender spent three weeks out of the year in the shop - that would be a hell no on my part. Thats a long time for a new car to be in the shop on three separate occasions if I’m remembering correctly. Thats way too much for a new car…especially an expensive new or newish car in my opinion.
Have her hit every dealer in the area this weekend and test drive most suv to see which one she likes, maybe we’ll be surprised
Taking partner, wife, GF find right SUV major "headache 😂!". Enjoy your reviews good job!
Or fun!
For some reason women love Defenders. My ‘hotrod’ wife drives a 90 V8 and loves it.
Id love to see how reliable land rover is i think jaguar makes them ?
Chevy, Ford and Subaru have more lemons than Land Rover. The people who talk smack can’t afford one
Ben see if you can negotiate a dedicated parking spot at the service center if you do this deal
Just get the defender to go along with your lovely family
That is an older JD combine you keep looking at.
Spend the 8k on the Land Cruiser fix. You’re going to take that much depreciation driving the Land Rover off the lot.
When you don’t learn from previous mistakes your destined to future hardship….
Thanks!
No!
It's a Land Rover - it will be in the shop continuously. If you love your family, NO!
Didn't the last defender have power steering pump issues
Computer issues
All they do is break, it’s a nice truck .
Normally when someone walks down the same path everyday and steps on a nail, they chose another path. That Defender is your “nail”.
Personally if I were getting a luxury SUV that was good for off-roading I would be test driving a G-Wagon.
Don't buy the Defender with the Discovery windows! Get a 90 or a 130, 110's are for wanna 🐝 bees.
What even were your choices for the land cruiser replacement?
More videos coming
4 one of THE best car review guys, u dont practice what u preach, New 2025 Honda Pilot, best overall value (sound v6/transmission) its safe, reliable, why take a risk with a USED unreliable FLASHY car? Seems like your wife would be happy with just about anything u get her...
Cyber truck would be the perfect fit for your family
No
Don’t buy it unless you are planning to switch vehicles every 3 to 4 hrs, or you have dollars to wast.
I love my 2023 Defender!
What ever Vehicle you and your wife get I will like it
Ben, get either a defender or Range Rover sport, please Ben, try a Range Rover for once!
@@magnoliap5824 I know, but the defender isn’t a range rover
I got rid of my 2023 Defender and just bought Land Cruiser Prado 2024. I am so happy to have a reliable car. Defender is just terrible.
You're setting yourself up for a disaster! My Defender broke after 100 miles. Next video, thinking about celling our Defender, here's why.
He never learns his lessons
nice family Ben
I love these suggestions, they forget these guys like to go off-road, really off-road. This vehicle is really dark inside, not a fan.
NOOO
Nope!
Where's her sun hat Ben😮
Ben didn’t you just trade this same vehicle in because of problems?
Yes
4 years unlimited miles warranty? I need a confirmation on that if you can.
Their cpo adds 1 year and unlimited miles
@@BenHardyCars ok got it. 1 year. Thanks
Don't buy it, you cant go wrong with a Nissan Armada / Infiniti QX80
The refreshed Infinity QX80 impressed me in 2024.
No.
Ok, so 50-50 on this and a G Wagon?
If you like being at the repair shop every month sure bro
Hard-pass on the LRD
No its unreliable we see them in the shop constantly
So..who drives the Wrangler?
It’s sitting right now
@@BenHardyCars as an outsider looking in, it looks to me you have two impractical vehicles…one of which isn’t even being used. So why not sell the Jeep and Grenadier and get something that makes more sense? At least the Wrangler right?
Ben....do what Rich You Tubers do....BUY IT FOR 2 MONTHS THEN COMPLAIN AND TRADE IT.....👍👍👍
I hope you get better experience on this Defender since this is your 2nd time within 1 year? I'm completely confuse, I think all your vehicle ownership are all for You Tube content. We do have the same taste , I'm a Jeep and Land Rover owner and soon maybe an Ineos. 😂
Joe Raiti wasn't very impressed with the Ineos Grenadier he tested.
Land Rover has a reputation for a reason, but then again who would have ever thought Toyota would be in its current situation (both with engines, transmissions, and with your Land Cruiser experiences). That being said, I would not try and convince my wife she needed a Land Rover. Truthfully, for the same depreciated dollars get an X7-xdrive40i. Same engine as the Grenadier. Just my opinion.
Your wife has a better personality than you Ben but I still like your reviews
No
All a land rover is a status symbol. They are one of the least reliable vehicles in the world yet people still buy them. Even if i was rich id never buy one. Just get the new toyota land cruiser thats boxy too.
You have done this before ... it didn't end up well.
Don’t sell your Land Cruiser
Buy it. To all the people complaining about the electronics…. You’ve never owned a land rover, go back to your boring ass land cruiser 😂
Just say no.
Cute
N, O.
Bro didn’t you just sold one? And complained about it?
Go with the GWagon.
Get the defender , LC and GX are boring and not reliable anymore .
No. Buy the baby defender Hyundai Santa Fe and save money. It’s a British car. Who you trying to impress in country of Utah?
You would be surprised how many Land Rovers you see in Utah.
Just get a 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe. It's a direct copy of the Defender, but won't inexplicably die 4-6 times a year and costs half the price at the top-spec Calligraphy trim. In fact, Hyundai have made the Santa Fe quite a bit better than Defender in a number of ways. And let's face it, no Defender is ever really going to go off road, unless you count jumping the curb at Starbucks. Might as well save yourself half the cash and have something nicer, more dependable, with a decade of warranty.
Don’t do it! They are the worst rated vehicle, why would you put yourself thru that again? They are total junk
Huge money pits
I mean you should have just kept the damn Land Cruiser.
Buy it, heck buy two of them that way you can post video's with at least one of them running. You do know the definition of stupidity is?
Best comment so far
Noooooo don’t do it
I mean as a personal vehicle, never. As a business expense for making content? Maybe. I wonder how well the profit loss battle will go for you 😅
