Great vid and trip, the defender is perfect for that. Mine has been a proper workhorse for last 3 half years, as a van really for work as I’m a tradesman. Also done a massive European road trip last year, super comfortable, even after 8 hours straight driving. Basically a van in the week, and a proper comfortable car the wk ends. Nothing else out there like it. Apart from daylight led replacement, not had a problem with it. Best vehicle I’ve ever had
Ah thank you so much Todd! Honestly we got a cheat code with him. He loves cars/ car journeys and anything to do with cars! Feel blessed. Thank you for watching and the kind words 🙏🏻
So glad to see more people getting in love with this car 😊 I own 110 X D300 Carphatian Edition with all possible options available. I believe that Defender is type of car that attracts emotionally mature people with lets be honest a lot of money and no need to impress other people with status symbols. My version in particular cost 160.000€ with import taxes and for that money you can buy almost anything in Luxury Class that would scream “I HAVE MONEY” but instead I am driving a car that looks like Iveco Turbo Daily Van from inside 😂😂😂
Fabulous cars, had my D250 xs edition for nearly 3 years now and we love it. It’s fantastic at soaking up the miles and have taken ours from The Cotswolds to Bordeaux a couple of times now and get out as fresh as we get in. Agree the fridge is a must as are the matrix lights and one reason we went for the XS as they’re standard however do miss the adaptive cruise but plenty of places will map this in for a small cost. No issues with our car other than a couple of loose bits of trim sorted under warranty and a chipped windscreen which was repaired. Highly recommended and a practical car you can use without being too precious 😀
Ah sounds like an amazing road trip! South of France is on the bucket list for us! Reliability sadly is a common issue that comes up bar a few little ones I’m glad to hear yours has been pain free! Thanks for watching! ♥️
Sadly JLR seem to get the grunt when it comes to reliability. Our previous XC90 had multiple issues from battery as well as turbo and superchargers so in comparison the 3ltr block in the 2nd generation of diesel defenders thus far has been an absolute joy. Fingers crossed that stays the same 🤞
Great video, loved the old style bits. Reminded me of videos from when I was very little. My grandfather had this old 8mm film camera with no sound. Looked the same. Brought back good memories ❤ On the car note, not my cup of tea but nice. Loads of spec for the money. Hopefully more reliable than some of the other JLR cars 😅
Thanks dude. When we sadly lost Kenneth who is mentioned at the end we found a bunch of photo and video cameras he had so I had to immediately find a way to utilise them! Glad you enjoyed it. That’s the beauty, if you go for a basic one… less to go wrong! 🤓
Such an awesome video. I just got the Defender 110 P400 here in the US. We do not have Diesel version here. I also have passion for travelling, but most of it is overlanding, places only 4x4 dare to conquer and with that in mind as you said memories with my friends and family.
Oh very new. Congratulations on the new purchase then! Once you put another 10-20k miles on it I would love to know what it’s been like on reliability etc
Hey Steve, thank you so much man I cannot tell you how many plates I have to spin. how many things need to align to make something like this come to life so I really appreciate it and I’m glad you enjoyed it
I’ve got this same level of spec 110, it’s not been without a few little niggles, but overall it’s a firm fav as my family car, and it’s the best for doing long road trips and camping. Something to create memories in, an X5, Merc or a Q7 may do 90% of what these can do, and might be a little more reliable 🤣 but they’re just not as cool are they
The “downside” to the defender for me is purely the size, parking it can be a factor in places like London. Outside it’s less so… if you can get around that yes absolutely.
I have a new Defender and a classic Defender. The latter is "stone age" whereas the new one is 21st Century....the old dear sits in the drive looking "old school cool" whereas the new one is driven.
It’s beautiful, but it’s incredibly expensive and fragile. I live in Australia, when we go bush we actually use 4wd and need something reliable- our lives depend on it. This why we buy Toyota. Defender and all Landrover products have been designed by marketing and supported by engineers (just look at the wheels). Sorry, my heart says yes but every other cell says- bugger that.
@@GoksCarLounge I’ve been driving Landcruisers for 20 years. I don’t love them, they are hard to love (they are reliable, do the job but their prices are heading towards landrover but not quite there yet) but before my Landcruiser I drove a disco. I loved it but it was unreliable and frustrating- you need to be able to ford a river without breaking down 2ks up the road and wipers shorting out in heavy rain is perhaps not ideal. As an Englishman in Australia I’d choose a landrover but the price is ludicrous (for everything Land Rover- my mate has a Range Rover sport and when his front headlight failed it cost $2K to replace?) and they are just not fit for purpose any more- it’s like the Gucci bag for 4wd’s. Target market: you like the idea of going off road but never do other than the odd country road, lease your 4wd, have heaps of $, want other people to see you’re successful and replace your car before the end of warranty- then perhaps this is an option.
The same could be said about most off readers. G wagons are more capable than ever but at £200k no one is going to use it in the way it was intended. It’s about what’s commercially viable and yes what you said is accurate.
@@sa2591-p5d you say LR aren’t fit for purpose? I live in Australia and have had 5 Land Rovers, including a basket case Range Rover, and these included 3 series of Discovery and now Defender Puma (old school). I found my Discos were very reliable and the D3 best of them all. The Defender Puma is also great, in 175k on the clock it’s been reliable too. To say Toyotas are the best is also an old wives tale. I should know, I’ve had 2 of them. Both great but not without flaws. If you service you cars they look after you. My Landies have over the years seen extreme off road use in the Victorian high country, they survived every time. I have a friend who badgered me about owning LR vehicles saying a friend of theirs friend had so many troubles with their LR. It like FB, only every hear about the bad things, never the good things
Pity build quality sucks sold mine at a huge loss because of all the problems that dealer couldn’t fix, it rattled like a parrot cage and at the end turbo started whistling
That's odd! I've never heard of issues with the new Defender and any problems would have been sorted under the warranty. As for selling at a huge loss, Defenders have better residual values than almost any other car on the road, excluding limited run supercars.
3 years of many memories with my Defender 90. Very happy.
Love that! Really like the form factor of the 90 but with a kid it doesn’t work for us.

Best road trip. EVER.
Best road trip ever, so far. 😎
Wait, family trip and no baby crying😅. Fantastic video and comprehensive. Keep up the great work. Bless you and your family

Dream car
It's all about Range Rover
Thanks for the good work 👏
Thank you my friend thank you for watching
I loved this video. You did a great job, 👏🏼 especially the last part.😢

Loving the retro film effects!
♥️📽️
Super video G! Always wondered what they were like inside and it seems, great :) Gonna need one for the growing amount of handpans 😂 x
Soundworks on the road? 😃

Thanks for this helpful video!! Greetings from Germany.

Am considering Defender ..... Luv it with it's manly design n stance...... gorgeous too ..... from faraway Malaysia
Good choice!
Great review.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching
Love my 90 D300 !
Great review and love the colour of your Landy. Love mine too and it does look better when dirty😂 cheers and thanks for sharing
Hey! Thanks for watching (sadly it isnt mine, but one day!)
Dude stop reviewing cars I’m super into. It’s depressing me
Haha. Me too man, me too. Imagine I had to drive it ALLLLL the way back to Mayfair JLR and hand it back. 🥲
Superb Work and therefore Video!!
Thank you Eric! :) Appreciated
Cracking review!
Thank you Ross 🙏🏻
This might be my favourite Defender review. Really well done 🫡

Did you find the seats comfortable
Hey, I did yea 👍🏼
Enjoying your various makes and models reviews. Meanwhile If he brings it to UK, maybe review DMO 2000 hp Nissan Patrol for random fun..
Thanks man, 😂 yea why not… haven’t featured a Nissan yet 🤷🏻♂️
Is this 110 defender any good just for day to day driving?
