Thanks Rory & Autotrader for spending some time with our daily driver Dark Knight! Great video! Our S-APEX widebody Model S Plaid program continues to evolve and will get even better with time. Do you have AWC(Automatic Wheel Camber.)? To keep the front wheels vertical(Zero Camber) irrespective of the amount of steering input? Maintains maximum contact patch & grip?
Because you get widebody and better ceramic brakes than the normal ceramics of the Track pack. I assume you can Order one of these with the new seats too
The new seats don't even have lumbar support or any functionality to then. Go look at bmw carbon buckets in the m3. Those are what real sports seats should look like. But tesla does the normal tesla thing and makes then as inexpensive and plain jane to make ad possible. Hardly call those "sport seats"
I preordered a Unplugged fender for Model S. Was delayed and delayed forever. In the end I sold my car. I asked for a refund as the part was never delievered. Unplugged stopped replying, and ignored me. Says something about the company. Nice vid. Regards from Norway.
Never preorder from them. They never delievered my part, and never did a refund. Out of luck since I am from Norway. Thats not how Mercedes/AMG treat their customers, so they have a long way to go.
You made a good point when you said do something different about the leather seats. It would be interesting to see a company like Herman Miller (office chairs) design a car seat with mesh/fabric materials. Extremely light weight, durable, easy to clean.
So an upgraded model S and they don't fix the seats or the wheel, seems pretty crap. How is the range at track speed, was it extended? How does it compare to a 3 motor Lucid?
Dark Knight has to be the most beautiful car I have ever seen. They perfected the look (exterior, definitely not that ugly red interior). I am curious how much this car costs off the lot.
Beautifully shot. The Autotrader content just keeps getting better and better! An interesting car - I'm a Tesla owner and fan boy , but I'm struggling to see how 'This is the car Tesla should have made'... It just seems to be mainly a cosmetic upgrade with some performance parts that will actually hinder driving pleasure when using the trashed roads we all have. I think the Unplugged features look great, but I'd love to see a company crack the Tesla code and start playing around with the hardware, and figuring out ways to truly mod the whole car. I appreciate the Dark Knight has some handling upgrades, but essentially, the car is Plaid with some trinkets.
I can't help but get the feeling that they were aiming to recreate the performance of the Rimac Nevera. The way this Model S seems to drive and slide through corners reminds me of the Rimac Nevera.

Either you filmed this a long time ago and just released it (even then, you should have checked for any updates prior to posting), or your research team need to seriously up their game.
That’s my biggest complaint about driving fast in it. I can never really tell how much grip the tires have. The front lifts so high under acceleration.
it really depends on the track.... but the battery is not really the issue at the track.... its the temps.... when the batteries and the motors heat up the car reduces power to cool them off.... Still a lot of power than what you will be up against but a full charge will last the whole session. Guys that fully track these cars put a radiator in the trunk for extra battery cooling.
