I'm interested in joining the Mastery Program. It opens again in a few days... did learning the warm-cool system of mixing paint really made a difference for you in your art? Also did you think the marketing class is really going deep to be successful selling art?
That's so exciting! I didn't have any oil painting experience before starting the mastery program so it is difficult for me to say if it made a difference in my art. I do think it is a really great way to help create shape and depth in your paintings. (Though there are of course many other ways to do that as well!) I actually am not finished with the marketing section just yet. The lessons I have taken so far were really great in my opinion. They discuss the different directions you could take (such as gallery representation, self representation, creating prints and products, commissions and much more). A lot of the lessons I've taken so far were focused on branding and marketing collateral, presenting a cohesive picture that is in line with who you are as a person. I personally really love it! That being said, I've noticed that different people gravitate towards different parts of the program. For instance, I loved the oil and drawing section though that is notoriously the section people enjoy the least and I struggled in mixed media even though most students consider that to be their favorite part. Certain parts of the program (as well as certain painting techniques) will really speak to you while others may not be as helpful for you depending on where you are on your art journey.
