These are beautiful Charlotte, you're excellent at realism and I'm glad you have found a style and medium that you enjoy.
Remember it's all experimentation with mixed media and having fun until you discover bits you enjoy and want to incorporate. 😊✨💙

Thank you! Yes, I feel I got a bit lost in experimentation though, trying so many new materials, styles and colors. I feel much happier with realism 😊

@@pirazyokona102 hi! No worries 😊 I did not use gesso, but that would have probably been a good idea! Much love from Florida 💛

Very Beautiful paintings. What is the paper you are using?

Thank you! The paper is Strathmore Imperial 500 Series Watercolor Paper - 22'' x 30'', Cold Press, 140 lb, I got it from Blick.

I think both pieces turned out really nice! 😍 what kind of paper are you using for this? And yes peeling off the tape is so satisfying! 🙌🏻

@@CharlotteLindstromArt Thank you! 😊 Do you prefer the hot press or cold press? I'm enjoying following your art journey 🎨❤

@@frenchyfrenchie I’ve never tried hot press so I can’t really speak on it, when I purchased the paper I asked my mentor what would be better and she told me to always get cold pressed for mixed media, that’s probably not a very helpful answer though, sorry!

@@CharlotteLindstromArt It's helpful! I'd imagine cold press has better (more) texture for holding all the different mediums. It's pretty cool that it can be used for mixed media since it's watercolor paper, I had no idea ❤

@@frenchyfrenchie you’re probably totally right! As for the watercolor paper, I’m guessing it works so well because it’s designed to work with wet materials. That being said, there are so many different kinds of paper out there! I’m sure there probably is better paper then the one I’m using 🤷‍♀️
