We actually did this 3 years ago bought house with the contents. The woman had passed, the husband was old, and the kids did not want the stuff. I set out 5 blue tarps and put up free signs. My husband and I just filled up the tarps and the items just went! It took me a week of solid sorting to get through the craft things. All of which went to the Boys and Girls Club. We could have made some good bucks but this was so much easier just giving the stuff away. Actually, yesterday we gave 2 remaining lamps from the early 70's that went to someone interested in mid century decorating. It took my husband and I a good 3 months of getting rid of stuff. The funniest thing was how much fake plastic flowers there were and then finding more in a storage shed! This is our summer home fun home that my husband is redoing. It was a real incentive to get rid of stuff at our home of 45 years as I do not want my adult sons to have to go through stuff like that!
That's kind of you. ❤ This house is hoarder to me ...I wouldn't take it on that's for sure . If my parents home looked like this & passed I'd throw a match in it 😂 Am very clean and I guess a bit OCD . Everything has a place and if I don't use it in a year or so I get rid of it . I hate clutter and dust collectors anything snall or what some people call cute .
Spray the pink tree with acrylic clear spray paint! Short sprays and more coats will keep you from having runs! It will give it a nice finish! They sell it in gloss or matte!
My wife and I watched a young couple at garage sales calling what we considered newer stuff, they called vintage. Its hard to know what will be the next collectable items in 20 years. Maybe the dollar stores items will be the next "find of a lifetime" to the younger generation. This is what makes this game of cleanouts so fun. LOL Great vid and keep up the good work.
Buy spray lacquer for the pink tree. They even sell shimmery glaze. Carpet on the walls was popular in the 1970's, everybody did it, even m/hotels. Never was a good look. imo. Thank the Lord for Tony. He may tell corny jokes, but he keeps making those all important connections for you. Who knows where it can lead! Have a blessed day 💖✝
In the seventies carpeted walls were a thing. I had several friends whose homes had shag carpeted walls in the family or game rooms. One friend had pink shag walls in her bedroom. We could make as much noise as we wanted and parents didn't care. I recently sold a ceramic pig bank with the original price tag of ten cents from a 5&Dime store.$25. Maybe there's hope for all the Dollar Store orphans. I think I am in love with Tony. He's a hoot.
The pink tree might be calling for a weird Barbie Christmas. Put it next to some Barbie gear and run it through an online ad or even the flea market once, see what happens. I think you'll still find some goodies. Everyone likes a quarter table. Good place for little shoppers looking for Mom and Dad presents.
Always interesting to see how much stuff a single household can collect over a couple of decades. I am more a contrarian: from time to time I check my books and other stuff if I need them any longer and start some kind of "autodafé" to simplify my life. But that´s just me, I know certain individuals in my house choosing another way...😉. Anyways, seems to be a pretty clean inventory without much mold or dust which makes your job much more easier. I didn´t see any antique items yet, but who knows, perhaps grandpa´s collection of old American colonial coins is just behind the next corner..😃 Anyways, great to see the "Big Three" (Renée, Anthony and Timothy) in action again. You are a fantastic team, fingers crossed for some forthcoming stunning finds in the "Dollar Tree" property ! 🤞Greets from GER, U. P.S. Moldy smell on the ceramic Christmas trees shouldn´t be a problem, just give them a short bath with some fancy shampoo and they will smell like new ! 🎍
As Tony calls us, "The Junk Guys!" You have junk? We want it! Haha. Actually, Tony is already in the works discussing another possible cleanout. Seems like it always happens like that - we go for some time with no jobs and then boom! One after the other. The $1 Tree House won't be too bad and while no antiques - yet- it's an easy enough job to complete in a few days. We make the client happy, we get flea market inventory, find a few ceramic trees, and be on our way to the next job! I do the same with my things, though it is easier to purge some items more than others. With my ceramic trees, it's easiest to rotate that collection based on if I find any with breakages. I keep those and then sell the "perfect" ones, with only a few exceptions, of course!
One of my flea markets is full of people who seem to prefer buying those "Dollar tree items", so I pick those too - even if I prefer selling Vintage items. Better than the landfill...
Hey Renee, new subscriber, watching from Australia. I'm enjoying your videos! GoodLuck with the clean out, hopefully you find a few treasures hidden upstairs 😃 Take care
Maybe you should check behind the carpet. I remember when people would carpet their walls so they could practice their music. About the dollar tree stuff becoming collectable. I bet some things would. A lot of people buy a lot of things there. And some things are pretty nice. I love you three working together. Taco Stacks doesn't seem so thrilled about it though. LOL! Love you all! Stay safe and healthy. ❤️😘💞💞💞🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏✌️
Maybe they put carpet on the wall to cover up the money hidden behind it! Can you imagine?? Some of the $1 Store items are cute, so that's why they should sell at some point, even if we do like 4 for $1 :0)
@@karennagel-smith6648 I used to watch a show called Trading Spaces years ago....The one designer did the whole wall with dry hay glued all around ...they had small kids and were worried they would pull it off piece by piece...
OMG, so happy you found a pink ceramic tree. Loving this clean out.😊 It might be the dollar tree house, but at least it’s relatively clean. Not like the hot dog house.😂
Back in the 70's, people used the carpet on the walls for extra insulation (sound and weather). Kinda like the Panel Van's of the same period, here on the West Coast.🙂

Renee: your hair looks really cute today! And I am glad you found some vintage ceramic Christmas trees, even the flat pink one! BTW, how is it that you, Tony, & Taco Stacks met & started working together? You are fun to watch!
I love the pink tree!! 💞 You could spray it with a high gloss clear coat. You HAVE TO keep it until you find a different one. It is just too cool!! 💞✌️
Thank you for this very exciting clean out❤👍 The three of you can find some great things to keep or sell. I hope you get everything you want in the clean out. Carpet wall paper or, creative?🤨🥰
The Lenox, as Tony says, as long as it says Made in USA is good for Ebay, every bride received some of that stuff as wedding gifts, sold in small town jewelry stores and every major department store chinaware and glassware department.
Renee! What a surprise! A new clean out. If nothing else the 3 different ceramic Christmas trees are amazing ! The pink one is so adorable the one with the birds! Thanks for taking us along! I appreciate you! Stay safe stay great and keep up the good work!!!!
The little floor mat at 0.24 and 14.08 [ the squares in primary colors] looks like designed after Mondriaan [very famous dutch painter]. Also Rietveld [famous dutch architect] had the same style. Very mid century!
Hey Renee. WOW! Yes, another fun clean out with Tony. Is he wearing that shirt 👕 again. Love you found another Christmas, but in pink. You don't have a 🌲 in pink. And the white one are adorable as well. The three of you are having a wonderful time together. Wish I could help, but my back and legs have been hurting me like crazy. God Bless you Renee, Tony and Taco Stack's for all you all do for your community. Take care all. Love you Renee. Mari'a. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗👕🎄🎄❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💙💙💙💙💙💜💜
Tony's favorite shirt makes an appearance again! I'll have to ask him what brand and what size, but make it just in general conversation, and maybe I can find some more online for him as a Christmas gift! Hope that you feel better and that the pains go away!
The thing to remember about the Law of Tag Sales (and probably fleas) The item that makes you go 'who'd want that" is often the first thing hustled into someone else's trunk. The dollar store stuff....maybe not so much. Straight to the Free pile with those! A few may be worth money 20-30 years down the road, but not many. Poorly made/ephemeral items not meant to be saved are the ones that appreciate. Occupied Japan ceramics went high for a while, but at now selling at their real value - not much.
I have a feeling I know the decade in which that carpet was put on the walls. Was it shag? Shag is like an "index fossil" that allow you to date on geologic strata in different areas. Trilobites mean the Permian Era - shag means the '70s. If they had a cat, I bet it loved that wall. Nice find with the two trees. I find that once I have finally found something I've been looking for - after a long search - all of a sudden I start finding more. So I keep the first one until I find the second, then keep the better one and sell the other. Does the damage on the pink one require repair, or is it cosmetic & hidden by the base? Coincidental that you found the McCloskey-illustrated book at the flea market the other day and, "Make Way for Ducklings" on the shelf here. "Ping" was a favorite when I was a kid. Speaking of China, is that china worth anything as individual pieces or would you have to have a whole set? Actually, there's a place about an hour from here called, "Replacements Unlimited," I think, which sells individual pieces to all kinds of current & former china sets in case you've broken one. So there must be a market. Always enjoy watching you, Tony & Taco interact. I'm sure there are gold bricks or something similar in one of the bedrooms, so will look forward to those vides. Have a great Tuesday! We've finally received a break in the heat!
Any chance you can comment on how the split between you 3 goes, or maybe how you decide who takes home what? I’d be interested in hearing how that all goes.
I perked up when I saw you hold up the little house and ask if it would sell. I think most thing sell if the price is appropriate. Some of us still buy the little ceramic houses. I look for them at every thrift shop and yard sale I go to.

I know I am watching this late however the Christmas tree is pink because it has been sprayed and not yet fired. If you find a place that can fire ceramics it will be green glaze.
Wow, a residence full of fr-gs???! (as long as they are not the pooping kind. live ones)!! Looks like a place out of the Twilight Zone! Very similar to a cleanout my buddy and I did back in the early 90s. The contents was made up of almost all cheap table wear, figurines and other mish-mash, oh, and don't forget the moldy clothing! There was a large collection of vintage 78s...all were damaged! There was a library of very vintage technical books and manuals. These came into my collection, still have them. Got to love that kiddy car in the picture...it's patterned after the 1955 Chevy Bel-Aire...down to the two tone colors. My parents bought a 55 Chevy new...it was the car I grew up with...such a great auto! That tree you unwrapped looks like the ones I use on the train set up. That room with the rug-covered walls is a bit on the creepy side!
I got a heads up on a potential estate sale about two weeks from now. The owner was a record/Victrola collector! Got notice through a fellow radio collector...we shall see! Good luck on coming across any hidden "goody finds"! @@PaperandMoose
@@PaperandMooseHope his widow does not have control , and throws the contents into a dumpster...this almost happened to my friend, Don, who had a large collection of the same content, his will saved the day! His wife hated the collections and always stated "If I had my way...all this junk would fill a dumpster!" @@larryboysen5911 You better keep a watch on that house & in the event you see a dumpster or odd-shaped garbage bags out for trash, have clothes handy and save those treasures!
Five & Dime likely sold tens of thousands of one thing, because of the population size, while Dollar Tree is selling hundreds of thousands or millions of one item. So, more will survive into the future most likely as well, dragging out the number of years til they would reach or surpass their original selling price. Hard sell today. You need to set all your ceramic trees up and give a tour, with bottle brush trees as "garnish" . Fun house 👍👍
A lot of work, all around. I think I would have walked away when I was doing stuff like that. Too much time and space needed to sort it, too. It's all flea market cheap stuff when you sell it. Not enough gems that I could see that would generate enough cash to pay for the work, time, and space needed.
I tried to get some direction from Tony too. We have a certain crowd on specific days of the flea market, so we have to pack for them. We can't bring $1 Store items to the market on a day when that day is mostly the antique buyers, so took a little time to get things packed and moving!
A chuntering Tony, a laconic Taco and an ‘antsy’ Renee. The scene is set at the Dollar Tree House. Not much happening so far. A soundproofed room? - Netflix beckons. “ What you finding? “ Nothing really”. Saturday…..Saturday…….Saturday……
I have a friend who had red shag carpeted walls. It was a piano room. I'll bet one of the kids in this house played drums and was relegated to the "carpet room."
I’m loving your pink ceramic tree! Remember you were at an auction & a woman won a four foot pink tree! Very cool. Can’t wait til we see what color lights you put on it 🎄
Yes yes yes. Okay my plan go through and grab anything each of you wanted for yourself or is your thing to sell. Go through again and purge any obvious trash. Then bin everything else and set up like the toteman at the flea market. And finally remove and deal with all the recycle and scrap. Hope you found some really cool items.
Do you just throw everything? Do you recycle paper? I love looking at stuff. Lol. It's like their whole lives and it's just going. 😢 Makes me kind of sad. Fun job you have
Everything is salable. Just sell your $100's of dollars of Dollar Tree stuff at $.25 each and you'll make a hundred! Profit is profit,if it didn't cost you much or anything. 😁 Keep on hunting! 👍
That's the perfect attitude! You go girl! And worse comes to worse, donations to local Thrift houses that help the homeless, etc. There's always a tax write- off if you can use it. Every penny counts in this kind of business. 😁

I know I am watching this late however the Christmas tree is pink because it has been sprayed and not yet fired. If you find a place that can fire ceramics it will be green glaze.
Haven't seen you for a while was watching your old videos you find so much stuff
Thank you for opening that memory capsule ...carpet on walls 😅
hahaha the carpet on the walls, i love it (stroke the furry walls) it will all be ok. LOL.
Not one frog in sight, unless it hopped on out already. It probably saw that carpeted room and thought "Nope, let's hop on out of here!"
I got a heads up on a potential estate sale about two weeks from now. The owner was a record/Victrola collector! Got notice through a fellow radio collector...we shall see! Good luck on coming across any hidden "goody finds"! @@PaperandMoose
@@larryboysen5911 Oh that sounds like an estate sale made just for you! Start camping out now to get a spot in line 😄
@@PaperandMooseHope his widow does not have control , and throws the contents into a dumpster...this almost happened to my friend, Don, who had a large collection of the same content, his will saved the day! I got three fine Victrolas and great ephemera /records, plus those neat Lionel Trains, I now have! I treasure all these historical items! His wife hated the collections and always stated "If I had my way...all this junk would fill a dumpster!" That's the kind of lady I stay away from...I have met them, and their reactions to my possessions...my response...BYE!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@larryboysen5911 You better keep a watch on that house & in the event you see a dumpster or odd-shaped garbage bags out for trash, have clothes handy and save those treasures!
Yikes! Carpet on the walls! I wonder if you can vacuum it!? 😅
The hippy carpet room could have been used as insulation
A lot of work, all around. I think I would have walked away when I was doing stuff like that. Too much time and space needed to sort it, too. It's all flea market cheap stuff when you sell it. Not enough gems that I could see that would generate enough cash to pay for the work, time, and space needed.
Taco Stacks appears to not have any direction..can't blame him,
I tried to get some direction from Tony too. We have a certain crowd on specific days of the flea market, so we have to pack for them. We can't bring $1 Store items to the market on a day when that day is mostly the antique buyers, so took a little time to get things packed and moving!
Can’t you do a spray shiny glaze on the pink tree to make it prettier? Modge podge shiny , there has to be some you can do !!
A chuntering Tony, a laconic Taco and an ‘antsy’ Renee. The scene is set at the Dollar Tree House. Not much happening so far. A soundproofed room? - Netflix beckons.
“ What you finding?
“ Nothing really”.
Saturday…..Saturday…….Saturday……
Is there an attic? Carpet walls were a very “Mod” thing in the 60s. Mostly done by teenagers.
No attic, just a crawl space.
QUESTION" why dont you do like the tote man and just bring it all and let everyone go through it?
I’m just so jealous !
I assume you watched our contracted curiosity Inc. This is what he does.
I have a friend who had red shag carpeted walls. It was a piano room. I'll bet one of the kids in this house played drums and was relegated to the "carpet room."
You are probably right!
That’s because it’s summertime. We just wait a little bit. It’ll cool off.
I’m loving your pink ceramic tree! Remember you were at an auction & a woman won a four foot pink tree! Very cool. Can’t wait til we see what color lights you put on it 🎄
So far it looks like a bunch of cheap stuff! I hope you find some treasure!
Probe game third one i seen in like 6 month,,one bought at a yard sale for 5 bucks and the other 2 on you tube videos.must of been popular years ago
In ontario carpet on the wall is illegal
While I certainly wouldn’t want carpet on the wall, what law prohibits it’s installation in Ontario?
Fire hazard…

Do you just throw everything? Do you recycle paper? I love looking at stuff. Lol. It's like their whole lives and it's just going. 😢 Makes me kind of sad. Fun job you have
Probably never
🙃🙂
Everything is salable. Just sell your $100's of dollars of Dollar Tree stuff at $.25 each and you'll make a hundred! Profit is profit,if it didn't cost you much or anything. 😁 Keep on hunting! 👍
There ya go! The goal is to move the stuff so we don't store it. People want to purchase a few for $1, go ahead! Fill a bag for $5, why not!
That's the perfect attitude! You go girl! And worse comes to worse, donations to local Thrift houses that help the homeless, etc. There's always a tax write- off if you can use it. Every penny counts in this kind of business. 😁
