These units make me pretty sad actually. These are usually rented following an eviction or sometimes when a child is seized by DHS and it's cheaper to rent a storage unit to hold your stuff than a whole apartment. To us it's just a bunch of toys and clothes but to some little kid.. this was their whole world.
Not always taken away from kids. My step son put a bunch of his daughters toys in storage to get rid of them and have a yard sale. Kids out grow toys for sure!
Twenty bucks on this storage locker that definitely paid off ! My estimate for the Igloo cooler would be ten bucks, a lot of flea market items, and don´t forget the tons of clicks you will get for a P & M "Storage Wars" clip. So, finally you will make a decent profit, let´s say we got a total retail value of 100,- $ ++. Great score, in my humble opinion ! 👍A very entertaining show, keep it up and have a good one, Renée ! 🤞Greets from GER, U.
Still waiting for that storage unit that contains boxes and boxes of ephemera! Whether that be postcards, old photos, whatever it might be, I'm not picky! Haha. Attended an in-person storage auction today where it looked like the person collected hippos! Everything that you could see was hippo related. Would love to have won it, but the price kept climbing, climbing, climbing!
@@PaperandMoose More luck next time ! I am trying to get some neat old correspondence or photoalbums for you and also got some old letters around 1840/50 from the U.S., but I think they contain mostly business correspondence. If you need them, please let me know.

Miss Moose opens the storage unit door, and out pops a chicken drumstick!😂......For 20 bucks, you did ok..you just never know what's in there until you start digging.. I remember renting the "Rug Doctor" carpet cleaner at the grocery store..remember the commercials..The rug doctor was "steaming mad at dirt"☺
For some reason, renting one of those seemed like such a big deal. Can't go anywhere on Saturday, we have to go rent the rug cleaner! Then you have to decide on which room you were going to stay in for hours because my mom would not allow anyone to walk on the living room rug until it was almost dry, which took hours. We would eventually put down pieces of paper and step on those if we needed to go into the living room.
For twenty dollars you did good. You’ll definitely make your money back. If you want to get the marker off that toy refrigerator, try using hand sanitizer. Thanks for sharing another adventure with us. 😊
You did really well on this unit! I’d wash the clothes, easy enough. Wipe down the toys, air out the shoes (baking soda wouldn’t be a bad thing ) at the flea market people are thinking of the holidays, you have some nice things. Can’t wait to see how you make out!😊
Holy Cow Renee. $20.00 dollars for the unit is beyond me. I guess you will get your money back from this Auction. It is good to see you having fun. Great toy's Renee. God Bless you sweet heart. Take care. Mari'a. 🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛🎃🎃🎃👻👻👻👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
For twenty dollars I'd say you will certainly make $ money..😍😮 That locker has some poor kids toys..😢 But at least your getting them into the hands of children who may not have very much..🎉😊 Good job Rene❤ Take care..👍💕🔥👊
Hey - solid unit, not flashy. If your flea market has one of those maternity swaps on a specific weekend, you would make out well, I think. I think you'll make out well anyway. I'm choosing to believe some parents were decluttering and put stuff outgrown by their older kids in storage - or told the kids if they wanted it they had to store it - rather than some sad scenario. We didn't have a lot of wall-to-wall in our house growing up but we had some, including shag. I don't ever remember renting a shampooer. Seems like most of the commenters did - I'm beginning to wonder whether our neighbors considered us among the great unwashed (the basement, with W2W, flooded with stormwater one year so it got cleaned once at least)?. Exciting items will come up in future units. This is not exactly the same - but maybe you read that one of the original X-Wing fighters from the 3rd Star Wars movie was found at the estate of a guy who worked at Industrial Light & Magic. It was a highly-detailed model used for close shots - and was the one Luke Skywalker flew down the trench in(Red 5) and blew up the Death Star (I know you haven't seen it so sorry for the spoiler 😇). The model was thought to have been lost but it just sold at auction for ~$3.1M. Your X-Wing is out there waiting for you. Thanks for having us along. Have a great Monday afternoon!
I did see that! Crazy. That story & discovery makes you wonder what is out there and what is yet to be found. My X-Wing is out there, I agree! $3.1 Million... Unbelievable. I'd certainly be able to devote a nice amount of time to my research. Book some time in Yellowstone, hop on a plane to Munich, and be the winning bidder at all of the storage auctions I go to! At least the toys and clothing can now either be sold or donated, rather than ending up in the dumpster which is what the facility would have done if it wouldn't have sold at the auction. I'll still be on the lookout for my X-Wing though :0)
I will never understand why human beings store the items in a storage unit they store such as food, household cleaning supplies, personal hygiene products, etc. it boggles the mind! Good video! Love watching you open items!
Even if you sold $1 each piece you make your money. So this should be easy! Good luck! And the person that owned that unit is yelling at you right now “what do you mean my stuff stinks”? Lol!!!
@7:15 that's a minecraft school supply box! You could ship that to me in CO for my collection of minecraft mini figures I've collected from dumpster diving💜!
Renee !!! Thanks for taking us along! I appreciate you! For 20 dollars not bad not great but not bad ! Stay safe stay great and keep up the good work!!!
I only have carpet upstairs so I rent a rug doctor every year or so (as needed) I get it from big lots (I used to rent from ace when they had them because they were closed on Sunday so you got it for an extra day no charge)
OH my gosh..so many toys . But they do sale at the flea market for sure...And so dose kids clothes...Lots of kids go the flea market with the parents because they tell the kiddo You can get a toy if you go😂
I think the unit is a good one for the flea market. You will turn a profit even if you include your time and gas. I would suggest going through the kids clothes, wash the unstained ones and take them to your local buy/sell/trade store. Even if they only pay you 50 cents or a dollar per item that they accept, you will easily make the $20 back plus more. I love the statement "Work smarter, not harder!"
I would say you definitely can get your money back. I have a question Do you actually wash and sell the clothes or do you just dispose of them. If it were me and I was going to wash them I would definitely take them to the laundry mat. That way if there is any bugs or such you aren’t washing them in your washer. Plus it’s so much faster. Just load it into the jumbo washers and get it done in no time. Geeezzzz just cleaning all of the toys up to sell them is a lot of work. Stay safe and God Bless
For $20 I think you've made your money back, but for as dirty as those cloths and toys were it will take some work to be able to sell them. It is a shame that the toys were so dirty, it makes you wonder what kind of environment the kids/kid was living in. It is exciting though to bid on the units and then hope you got some good sellable stuff. Thanks for letting us see it, I hope to see another adventure soon.
Do I hear a "Ribbit" under that tote???? If you find a tote full of candlestick phones...I want mine back...LOL. Looks like a family who wanted to try to keep the children's treasured toys? Interesting to discover what the totes, boxes and bags hold.
On the toy dinosaurs, look on the bottom of the foot for the Jurassic Park logo. Then check the date - if they are pre-2000, there's money there. Some wrestling figures can also be good. Other than that, I don't see any value.
You should do well at the flea market ! I think the cooler is worth more like 10 as they are at least 30 new ! Lots of small sales should add up !! You cannot lose at a 20 dollar investment !!
If you wipe down the toys and wash the clothes in cold, you'll get your $$ back and more. A friend just trash picked a huge bag of gorgeous craft items and gave them to me. I picked 3 items and found homes for the rest. Yesterday, it was a box of candy and brand new toys from the top of a dumpster. I'm too old to dive,(age 74), but I'm trying to save the planet and distribute the wealth. Tina, Al's wife

Might have been a story behind all those toys stored - never returned to. Some nice bikes and scooters you pulled out there. The odd purse - thankfully with nothing ‘odd’ inside them this time. Was worth it just for that ‘igloo’ I reckon….and the boots….
At some facilities, I do believe they do this. It is somewhat easy to figure out which facilities those are once you've been to the auctions enough. Biggest clue is if there are many boxes/bags strewn about, but you have something really "good", like a jewelry box or a safe, front and center amongst everything.
When you open the door and the unit looks like that, it's pretty obvious that the facility has already gone thru it and grabbed what they wanted.
