Round of applause for mummy Auto Social - she's been dreading this video coming out but I think she did SO well! She would like to update that now she is in the community more, her fuel economy has taken a hit but overall she's still very happy.

What a terrific video Tish! Getting an owner to help with the review comparing the old and the new models was just perfect. That it was your mum was brilliant, she's a natural presenter I think. I agreed with many of her comments from the colour preferences, driver aids to those annoying touch sliders. The new T-Roc has improved in many ways but has gone backwards in some too but on balance I think your mum made the right choice for the new model. Those improvements outweigh the negatives. Well done and thanks for sharing. Bring your mum back and maybe Steve (unseen) if possible as you two work so well together.

Really helpful, been looking at these and also the Formentor, prefer the shape as opposed to the coupe shape of the Formentor. Also reviews absolutely hammer the Cupra infotainment system. Some good deals about on R-Line Autos, may have just found my next car 👍🏼 (and well done Mum, a natural)

interesting review, you both are so fun to watch. I was actually thinking for a while about buying a t-roc, but still not sure if it's the best for the price so to say. Shame that you didnt include some details, like what's the actual numbers of average consumption / speed with this 1.5 and 1.0. Also, what's the mileage on that car, any malfunctions or extra service costs; and that "hands on the wheel thing" would be interesting to see in action as this is the first time I heard about something like that on cars without adaptive cruise

Hi Tish and your mom such a great review and great to see you both together and an owner giving perspective to the review
As you know Tish I used your review of your moms old t roc and I upgraded my golf to a t roc active which is a SE special edition in red and black
I love the packaging of the t roc and there is plenty of space for a family and luggage and it’s great to sit up high in my opinion the 1.5 is the better engine and blend of economy and performance
Agree with many points you say and I will hopefully be moving to a new R Line in a year or so i have a similar thought to your mom about manual or DSG next time best wishes to you both Daniel

Interesting thing is that on my 2023 T-Roc 2.0 Liter Design model, the lane keeping assist is off when I switch on automatic cruise control and I can switch on the lane keeping assist with with two buttons on the steering. I didn't opt for the R-Line model for 2 main reasons, and they are 1) I hate those haptic feedback buttons on the steering wheel and 2) I couldn't choose a smaller wheel size (19 inch only on R-Line models). So the Design model has physical buttons on the steering wheel and 17 inch wheels which are way more comfortable. And I prefer the black unpainted plastic cladding on the outside of the doors instead of the body coloured painted ones. Oh yes, then there is the grey dashboard inlays instead of the black which is also better. I absolutely love my T-Roc though and I would just go for a drive out and about in town without really needing to go anywhere.

Great video & your Mum was a star. Getting a real life user's point of view, often different from Auto Journalists, personally I think you can't beat (Regardless of agreeing/disagreeing with their views, as this is the real world users view).
Personally found the video really interesting, as my Wife & 2 adult Step Kids, 2 dogs while towing a horse-box, we're not initially fans of when their family car changed from a BMW X5 40D to a smaller X3 M40I. My family all listed similar points/reasons as your Mum, Steve and yourself mentioned when considering change. Real world people, right or wrong, often find size, vision when driving, practicality of use along with colour, more important than many of the normal listed motoring points.
Trish you deserve all the success in the world with your motor journalism.

How do you like the front black bumper? Is not it a bit weird?.. on a grey colour car, it may attract less attention, but on a white colour, it more stands out... I would prefer white color car but concerned with a bumper and local dealer does not have the white color to see it... so thinking that grey color may fit better for the car...

Last year, the VW T-Roc was the best selling SUV in Europe, and the third best selling vehicle in Europe after the Peugeot 208 and Dacia Sandero.
Even though there are three AWD T-Roc options to choose from in many European countries, most people don’t go for that. They tend to go for the cheapest options (being front wheel drive). I’d always go for the 4Motion one (the 2.0 TSI).

Thanks Tish's mum for the review 😅
Honestly in the future, this car probably would be a contender for me.
I learnt so many knew things from the video.
What might put me off though is the lane-keeping assist ping.
Also the 2 hands on the wheel warning, what were you thinking VW 😂?
Shame you cant turn these assists off permanently.
Other than those issues definitely love the design and VW cars in general never dissapoint.
Looking forward to the next video.

  • @MrBernie101
    @MrBernie101 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

A nice warm review, but I must take exception Re: hands on the steering wheel and "relaxed driving style".If driving in that style at say, 50 mph, and you were unfortunate enough to have a front tyre blow out, y'know, BANG !!!! instant flat, it's 99% certain that the one limb controlling the steering wheel would part company. You could break fingers, a wrist in trying to gain control, assuming the car hadn't started to roll.
I know this may sound far fetched. alarmist even, but it can/does happen.
Good luck with further videos, to which I look forward to.
ps, I spotted the left hooker used for the interior shots. 👍👍 Bernie SW Wales

For me there are more irritations than good, but I think cars are becoming more irritating by nannying the driver.

In my 45 years of buying cars I think I have only found one honest one who I thought I could believe and unfortunately when I went back to do business with him again...guess what? he had left the industry...I wonder why???..it's an absolute joke. I have bought from many different car companies from VW to Audi to BMW to Mercedes and in the last couple of years, Lexus. The worst being Mercedes (full of crap and snobbery).
