Hi, Great video with lots of information, thank you!
I ordered a 1.5 DSG in February 2023 in a Belgian garage. What engine (Evo 1 or Evo 2) will it have.
What clutch will it be? Thank you again!
Thanks for very informative video. I have T-Roc 2.0 TDI SCR 110kW 4Motion DSG. Do my car has dry or wet clutch? Timing belt or chain? Thank you in advance.
2018 150ps 2.0 TDI 4-motion, manual, is it a wet or dry clutch, think its has a timing belt. subscribed and liked
Hi there. Just bought a new 1.5 Troc life, 2WD 4 days ago. 2023 model. Interested to see if i have the wet clutch and timing chain. Thanks😊
Cool videos thanks. Unfortunately the engine they sell in my country is 1.4L TSI; 150 HP with 8 speed Auto. Do you know about that one?
Good video. Highlighting the points to look out for.
Thank you for clarifying the difference between the dry and wet clutch DSG variation. I have driven both before and the wet clutch DSG was superb to drive with. That and the 1.5 and 2.0 engines, I specifically drove the 2.0 and it's a dream with the oomph.
2023 t roc R
Interested in knowing if it's wet clutch and timing chain (which I assume it is)
Hi really good video. Can you tell me if we have a wet or dry clutch and we also have had issues with pulling away with kangaroo ing. My father in law has a 23 plate troc which is very smooth each time you pull away. You mention a software up date is this something vw will do and is it free of charge. Also our vehicle has only covered 7,000 miles. Finally do we have a belt or chain? The vehicle is 1.5 petrol, manual 2019. Many thanks
1.5 TSI 2019 model, does it have a wet or drive clutch?
Thanks for informative on 2.0 TDI
I just ordered new T-Roc today, facelift one. 1.5 TSI EVO DSG R Line, what kind of clutch will it have?
Hi! Regarding the dry vs wet clutch, I just bought a used 1.5 TSI EVO SE with a DSG. 2 wheel drive. May I know if it’s a wet or dry clutch?
Is 2020 T-ROC sport DSG 1.5 petrol is dry clutch or wet clutch
Thanks In Advance
VAG cars 2.0 litres and above generally have wet clutches with oil changes every 40k.
Dry units have improved recently but tend to be a bit jerky at low speeds, parking etc.
Thanks for the thorough review. I am looking at buying a second hand automatic (petrol) and have three choices at present. A 2021 1.5 TSI Style (58,000km), a 20191.5 TSI Style (61,300km) or a 2019 1.5 Sport (presume TSI) (46,000km). Any thoughts on the gearboxes (wet or dry)?
Love that they put golf r engine in there ❤
I bought a 2022 1.5 tsi 7dsg r-line what type of clutch does this have please?
Thank you - very informative video.
I have a t-roc tsi 190 4motion dsg reserved and having a think about it over night. what to you reckon to the engine choice - dry / wet clutch etc?
It's the new 2023 face lift model btw.
Wet clutch in that set up Mark - super reliable. You shouldn't have any problems. Enjoy the new car!
@@ScottishCarClan thanks for the reply. I thought it was. Unfortunately, we've decided against the vehicle. I'm going to get something more hardy for trips up to Scotland as I want to get off the main roads a bit for photography.
Not sure I can handle putting a £40k brand new car on dirt / snow... which isn't really an offroader.
The diesel drives better than the petrol model . THANKS
2.0 awd is this wet or dry clutch, tiimg chain or belt ?
Hi t roc model comes with wet clutch / timing chain ?
Just bought a 1.5 automatic 18 plate would this be a timing belt or chain I'm in the process of trying to find out if its had a belt change before collecting the car tomorrow
This was very good. Thank you!
I have a 1.5 TSI Automatic built NOV22, please advise on clutch and tiing belt/chain. Thanks
Hi What T-Roc version has a wet clutch and chain timing belt
We have a 1.6 diesel 2017 Golf with the dry clutch DSG with 82k miles and its been super reliable so far. the gearbox is sealed for life and I asked a VW specialist and VW dealer and they told us not to service the dry clutch as the clutches are dry therefore there is no oil to be contaminated from clutch wear like the wet clutch DSG that needs servicing every 40k miles. Our dry clutch DSG isnt as smooth as the wet clutch DSG but its smooth enough honestly.
It will break
Presently looking at VW T Roc R 2.0 TSI 300ps 4M 5 dr DSG. Can you tell me if it has dry or wet clutch and timing belt or timing chain please ?
1.6 tdi scr what type of clutch does it have?
Did any one face this issue -- Rear tail light not working error sometimes. I had replaced the rear tail light after its broken from a very minor accident. Since then i get this warning on rear tail light even though its functional !!. Never know when the warning will pop up and why !!
I have the kangaroo effect sometimes with my 1.5 troc , it's a 2018 maybe I'll check about a software update at service , however using Tesco 99 octane seems to solve this luckily , so that's my fuel of choice now !
Thanks for the video 👍
I am buying a 1.5 DSG which is March 2020. Does this model have the wet or dry clutch?
Thanks in advance.
dq 200- Dry clutch
I watched 75% of this video and have discounted any thought of buying one. Thanks for the genuine review 👍
The video is common problems to look out for, you could search the same for any make and model and get similar results. Doesn't mean the car is scrap, just means you know a bad one from a good one like every other car.
Maybe watch the last 30 second too?
Thanks for all the useful info. We are thinking of buying a used T -Roc 1.5 litre automatic petrol version, or a used T-Cross 1.0 litre automatic petrol version, so will look out for those problems. Do you know if the T-Cross has similar problems to the T-Roc?
Hi, just wondering if you end up buying 1.5? If so, any issues?
Hi. No I bought a used T-Cross in the end. I preferred the T-Roc but I let my Wife have her way this time and went with her choice. No problems with the car and it was low mileage and good condition. I do still lie the T-Roc though.@@user-ed9xc2dt6e
The 1.0 liter ABSOLUTELY CAN power a car that size, because it is less than 1.3 tons rather than almost 2 tons. The 1.0 liter pre-face model has a 0-60 time of less than 10 seconds, which is more than enough for a commuter SUV.
hi mate which clutch do i have? also is it belt/chain 2023 t roc rline 1.5 dsg evo (love it so much but ive noticed a tiny kangaroo effect when starting on cold mornings. great vid by the way
The 1.5 petrol is timing belt
Do you have buyers guide for the tiguan?
Any problems with Vw T-Roc 2.0 TDI R-Line DSG 2022?
Cheers for the info. 2023 2.0 R Four Motion Auto has 5k on it, thanks in anticipation.
Hi there, I'm considering a T Roc with 1.5 tsi petrol engine and dsg gearbox. Does it have a wet or dry clutch? Does it have timing belt or chain?
Following
I am away to buy the T Roc R 4 motion 2020 model can yiu tell me clutch type please!
Hi Clan, contemplating buying a new 2.0 litre diesel but would love to know if this will have a wet or dry clutch and will it have a timing belt or chain ? Are you able to advise ?
It has a wet clutch and it has a timing belt that should be replaced every 5 years or 60 to 70k miles
Many thanks for a very informative video, with no filler drivel.
Water ingress is quite the trend among Golfs too, so presumably VW simply doesn't care about it.
I'll certainly be looking elsewhere after seeing your video.
Can you do a review on the scirocco please
I'm about to pull the trigger on a 2021 T-Roc R-Line 2.0TDI with a manual gearbox.
Am I right in thinking that's a wet clutch and timing chain ?
Doesn't sound good letting in water, great video, subbed.
I have a 70 plate 1.5 r line with less than 7000 miles on the clock. It has already been in the garage to have the front brake discs and pads replaced due to rust. The car is used every day. . I have traded it in and I'm just waiting on the new Honda Civic.
What sort of clutch and timing on the 1.5 engine please
Hello there, thanks for the video 🫶🏼can anybody please let me know if the VW T-Roc Advance Style 1.5 TSI 110kW DSG - 2020
Does it have Wet clutch or Dry Clutch?
Does it have timing or chain belt? Thanks
Hey! It's a dry clutch and timing chain.
Thanks for the video 👍
My wife has a 1.5 DSG Style which she bought in August 2022 so it’s the latest facelift model. Does this model have the wet or dry clutch?
Thanks in advance.
Dry
Is the 1.5 tsi reliable?
Hi We are thinking of getting troc
1.5 TSI 150PS United DSG

Hey guys i'm currently looking to buy a 2020 Volkswagen T-Roc 140TSI Sport A11 Automatic 4MOTION, 4cyl 2.0L Turbo Petrol with 100,000km selling for $27,490 AUD or $14,485 GBP. Do you know of any major problems with this model ?
Looking to get one of these with manual gear box, I think. Which configuration has a timing chain rather then a belt, please?
the 1.5 petrol and all diesel models have timing belts and 2L petrol has a chain
I have 1.6tdi mk7 golf that has" instrument cluster workshop!" Error, VW say it can't be fixed by computer. 1500euro to replace. Instrument cluster specialist told me it's a line of code when battery was dying in car that was written to eeprom chip. Vw said it can't be undone . VW customer support not as good as Toyota's. Ruined trade in value. Great video. I think I'll be switching back to Toyota's as my Golf has less than 70k miles on it.
Have a 2018 1.0 with 32000 miles not had any issues what so ever. Bought this after rejecting a new 1.5 after 500miles and received a full refund due to the kangarooing. Great car.
Hi I hope you can help please we have just brought the VOLKSWAGEN T-Roc 2.0 TSI 4MOTION SEL 5dr DSG and would like to know if it has a wet or dry clutch and does it have a timing belt or chain kind regards
that should be the wet clutch dsg with a timing chain
We have a 2022 1.0 3 cylinder T-Cross and find the car very nippy, reliable and averages around 45 - 50 mpg, the only thing we dont like is the kangarooing in 1st and 2nd gear, maybe a softwear issue?? other than that its a great driving car and have no complaints.
Have the 2.0 petrol 4motion. What should I look out for? Only thing I’ve noticed is a rattle in the dash!
That just the prop rings darkside developments have a kit to solve the problem
The specs given are for the facelift model only.
I’ve had a golf and Octavia 1.5 tsi - neither kangaroos
T Roc isn't soundpoof inside the cabin around the 100km/h. You can hear the wind and loud as shouldnt be for that price. Just got '23 model 1.5 petrol TSI, Life package.
Love your accent!
I’ve got the 1.5 2019 version. That was kangarooing , software update under warranty sorted it out thankfully. Got a bit of water coming into the lower boot by the spare wheel, not sure where it’s coming in from though.
Check the rubber bung at the top left corner isn't missing , I had the same thing happen to me.
Water in the boot comes in when you open the tailgate when it's raining. The gap around the tailgate catch in the middle acts like a drain and the water goes straight into the boot giving you a small pool water. Try pouring a little water direct onto the tailgate catch and see what happens. Design fault
Looking at a 1 litre 2018 SE…. Any info on the clutch info please
Manual I should mention…. Great video mate
Hi, 21 plate 1.5 litre/ 2 wheel drive.
Never seen worn out clutches, judder is to do with a shimming issue not worn out clutches.

I have had software issues with my VW from new. They changed the gateway and updated software , but the problem continues
Does the t roc 2.0 tdi dsg have a wert or dry clutch

Im searching for Troc disel auto in Stuttgart region
Mine's AWD 2 litre petrol built december 23 24 Badge
Hi, I'm picking up a 1.6 TDI sel t roc 2018 as far as I know it's a 2 wheel front drive. What type of clutch? Thanks.
its a dry clutch DSG. We have the same 1.6 diesel with the dry clutch DSG in our 2017 Golf with 82k miles and its been very reliable so far
Thanks for your reply. I'm also having a bit of an issue while the car is parked. I always leave the car in gear, (mainly reverse) due to having the electronic hand brake. When returning to the car, I am literally fighting to get it back into neutral, if left on a slight hill. I'm also getting a slight crunch when putting the car into reverse. Any help, is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Hi …..I’ve a 1.5 2022 T ROC is it dry or wet clutch and if chain or belt?
Regards Nick (DSG)
Dry clutch dq200
@@tanaypisal2296 does that gearbox need services like the wet clutch at every 40k miles?
@@tanaypisal2296 I have a mk7.5 gold 1.6 TDI with the dry clutch DSG
@@rejoicerone3176 Even though DQ200 is a dry clutch unit, the mechatronics unit does have transmission oil in it. That needs to be replaced every 60000kms (around 40k miles )
@@tanaypisal2296 have you replaced yours? I took it down to my local VW specialist and they told me not to touch the gearbox so don't know what to believe
I’m getting a 1 litre two wheel drive would it be wet or dry clutch
1litre only comes with a manual box, this does not apply, it has a conventional clutch
I have just bought a 190 2022 T.ROC R Line TSI petrol.. BUT it is wearing 19 inch wheels and the ride is hard especially on Hampshire roads...will changing the wheels to 17inch be possible and will they improve the ride please.
Timing chains are Not bombproof, we change loads of them. Listen for a brief rattle on cold start. Indicates the chain has stretched
0:54 "almost 2 tones" - for 1.0 engine is 1270kg kerb weight
Add in a car full of passengers and some luggage and you’re not going to be far off 2T. Great point though and thanks for the comment. I should have explained better 👏🏼
T-Roc 1.0 has max load of 510kg. Gross weight for the T-Roc 1.0 TSI is 1,780kg. For the 1.5 TSI model it is 1850kg.
Just about 2 tons? What? The 1.0 L TSI configuration weights 1270kg empty, the car is extremely light with that configuration.
👏👏👏👏👏
Apologies its the 300bhp model
8.5 out of 10 seems very generous considering the type of issues you mentioned! A bit more than trivial in my book.
1.0 TSI Petrol.
0:39 who the hell drew a willy on the dusty compartment next to the battery
No idea what you're talking about...
how is it almost 2 tons
its 1230kg thats nowhere near 2 tons
does anyone knows how to replace rear brake bulb i hate VW
Which T-roc has wet clutch and timing chain
the 1.6 diesel and 1.5 petrol has the dry clutch DSG and the 2L petrol has timing chain whereas the 1.5 petrol and 1.6/2L diesels have the timing belt.
No spare wheel, not even a space saver and VW won't supply one !!
All that's supplied is a bottle of sealant and a plastic plug in compressor. Totally inadequate if you get a torn tyre
0:55 Two tons??? T-Roc 1.0 TSI weights 1.195kg of dry mass
Add in a car full of passengers and some luggage and you’re not going to be far off 2T. Great point though and thanks for the comment. I should have explained better 👏🏼
You should put the steering wheel on left side where it belongs!
Honda & Toyota hybrid, nothing else.
Totally disagree with your 8,5 out of 10...
I have met 2 people who have had to get replacement DSG boxes on their dry clutch versions.. the vehicles were out of warranty - only 2 year warranties here in Europe. Cost 3-4000€ to replace/repair.
Also lots of electronic issues..
Finally, after paying a large amount of money for something marketed as a premium product would you be happy with water coming in through the roof and the rear hatch?
Strongly avoid people to avoid VAG products.. they are massively overrated in terms of quality and reliability just is not there .
In Australia they come with a Aisin (Toyota) traditional auto. And 5 year warranty in Australia.
brudda..... NEARLY 2 TONNES! Are you having us on LOOOL. its kerb weight is between 1.2 - 1.5 tonnes...... no where near 2
2 tonnes? More like 1.4t
Why on earth do these cars have a single issue?? !!
Definitely wont buy this thing , new or used.
The obvious problem is that it is made in Germany so will be far more unreliable than you think it will be. And when it does go wrong (which it will) it will be very expensive to fix. And the dealer will treat you like dirt.
