  • My last and definitive video on Low Latency Dolby Vision and whether the HDFURY Arcana makes a difference in the final image (hint...yes, it definitely does)...I do apologize though as the difference in image live shows much more accurately then on video and in the end Ihighly recommend adding one of the HDFURY products to accurately show the LLDV signal by adding the HDR metadata to the signal to keep the JMGO in HDR mode, which is the key and which lower prices products such as the Ezcoo cannot do.

    Hey Oly,
I really appreciate how much time you invest in demonstrating new ways to enhance the performance of the JMGO projectors. I have the baby model , the 1080 N1. It is without a doubt, the best 1080 HD projector image ive ever seen. Triple laser imaging is amazing! Im still experimenting with my preferred HDR modes and how they are enabled, but when its available , the results are extraordinary! I've observed how difficult it is for you reviewers to recreate what you see in person. But I can still see, if only subtle, the differences in the images. Especially the reds in the flesh tones being evened out. I can only imagine what you see live. From my own experience with the N1, I conclude that there's no way to video record the quality presented by these projectors. My question about the EZcoo is that although it doesn't deliver the desired LLDV results, is there any improvement in the image worth investing $35. I'm taking baby steps to the $300 Arcana. I know you mentioned that you were having an exchange with EZcoo to see if they were going to release a competitive product. Just curious. I very much appreciate your JMGO review series. Thanks again Buddy!
P.S. If JMGO releases their "N2" series with Dolby Vision, would you purchase another one?

Thanks so much for watching Bruce...I think the only advantage of buying the Ezcoo is that even though it did actually allow the LLDV to activate and it looks ok, but as stated, without the ability to manually keep HRD on with any of the JMGOs, it still made a difference when watching hockey for example. So for Low Latency Dolby Vision,,,no, for improved cable image...yes. I would keep an eye out for a used Arcana, I found my Arcana for $150 bucks used, essentially brand new. If you can find one for $150 or less, don't hesitate to buy it. As far as your last question...stay tuned for mid June...that's all I can say for now😉

@@OlyGoalie67 Aha! Now I'm more intrigued. I held out on buying the 4K model because of the DV issue. But I'm still enjoying triple laser 1080p N1. I see some pre-owned Arcana units selling on ebay at $200. I may get itchy. Looking forward to your June video. Thanks again👍

Thanks Oly, I've been using the HD FuryArcana (version 2) since last year and I have to say that I've seen a lot of protectors and none of them have the color accuracy and how it displays the LLDV like the JMGO Ultra N1. I'm so happy that I exchanged the Hisense C1 for the N1 Ultra because the difference in brightness and color is notable.

And that makes me so happy to hear...I am so happy to know that others out there share the same love for their JMGO that I do and after all the projectors I have owned over the years (some quite a bit more expensive than the N1 Ultra) the N1 is BY FAR above and beyond the best. Let's see what JMGO can do to make it even better...coming soon??

    Oly,
I noticed in your JMGO setup that you used the digital zoom feature to downsize the image to your screen size due to the throw distance requirements/limitations in your media room. Looks like you might be cutting down on 15-20% of the original thrown image size. I understand that using digital zoom triggers the projector to process and remove information from the source stream to adjust to the desired screen size; unlike the pure 1:1 image that you get from using an optical zoom. Since the JMGO projectors only have a fixed 1:2.1 throw lens, I was wondering if you have noticed from your detailed image comparisons, any significant loss of definition, detail, clarity, etc due to your employing the use of the digital zoom feature. I impressed upon a relative to consider a JMGO purchase but her space has the same long throw situation that you have. Since my JMGO is mounted at the perfect throw distance of around 9.5 feet to accommodate a "100" inch screen, the demonstration images from my N1 were not tainted by any potential digital zoom processing distortions. I dont want to hear later about my giving a false representation of the projector's display capabilities.

Hey Bruce, yes, I am limited in my room dimensions and since adding the bigger screen now at 150" I have less of the 'wasted' pixels. I would prefer to have it ideal and fit perfectly but that is just not going to happen. I have to say that I do not see any difference in the image as once, I did have the N1 on a ceiling mount and at the right distance for the perfect fit when I had a smaller screen. I know that technically there is a loss but this N1 is really so good that I could not ever be disappointed with their projector.

@@OlyGoalie67 The room my relative is working with has a throw distance of 14' which would create around a 160" image. The wall space will only accommodate a "110" screen at best (if such a thing exists). That would mean a digital source reduction of close to 40%. YIKES!!. I wouldn't consider my relative a videophile, but I cant lie about my findings as I consult on the purchase. I wouldn't accept that level of image reduction but mabye the 4K source will disguise enough of the evils of digital zoom processing to provide a satisfactory enough image for my relative. We'll see. Thanks again Oly!!

@@brucesmith1754 you know Bruce, even at 40% I bet they wouldn't really notice a difference. The other option would be the ceiling mount which would allow them to bring the N1 closer to the wall and then limit the amount of 'shrinkage' the only problem is you then have to get the power and HDMI cable to that point which can be a challenge in itself...but worth the ability to have less digital zoom👍

@@OlyGoalie67 Oly, the images that ive seen from the N1 are so impressive that I believe your assessment is likely correct. My relative wont really scrutinize the nuances between a Blu-ray and 4K image. My media room setup is as you suggested. Although I believe I did a good job running my cabling thru conduits along my ceiling and wall to get a "perfect" image, my relative considered it too unsightly for her setup. To each, their own. I'm just trying to be as informative as I can be , laying all the information out for her decision. Just as you do in your very informative videos. Much appreciated , Oly!👍

    Hey Oly,
I cant seem to get an answer on this from JMGO, maybe you can help. I am a fan of 3D movies , and my JMGO 1080p N1 performs great in 3D mode. The main problem I have is using it in one of my rooms that requires the projector-to-screen throw setup to use digital zoom, shrinking a 140" thrown image down to a 100" screen. Using 3D mode on the N1 turns off all the digital zoom/keystoning settings causing the 3D image to grossly overflow my screen. I'm stuck with a way to resize this overflowing image while in 3D mode. This appears to be a featured limitation as a warning is given that digital adjustments will be turned off before enabling 3D mode. I've never noticed if this is another limitation of using digital zoom because I've never had to use it since my other 3D projectors feature an optical zoom for adjusting to distances. Could you please tell me if you've also found this limitation on the N1 Ultra 4K. This limitation would also effect my consultation to my relative , who's considering a N1 ULtra 4K purchase, that I told you about earlier, whose also a 3D fanatic. I would hate to have to suggest a lesser performing projector like the XGIMI Horizon Ultra 4K just because it has an optical zoom. JMGO only responded by telling me to check to see if my projector received its last firmware upgrade.(which it has) I don't think they understand my problem/question.

Hey Bruce, I can see how the projector may have to use the full pixels to beam the 3D image hence the cancellation of the zoom...I can try my Ultra to see if it is the same and get back to you!

I can confirm that I am able to play 3D content on a zoomed image with the N1 Ultra but I have noticed something unusual for the first time...lines of purple dashes for lack of a better word running along the bottom, I will be contacting after-sales@jmgo.com to let them know, also, I haven't received the latest update yet. I have taken some pictures if you want to provide me an email...I will send them to you.

I’ve just bought a used Arcana for 90 euro, I will test it out with these settings. One thing I already noticed is that the Arcana is limiting the CEC between the AppleTv the soundbar and the N1 Ultra, but perhaps I can solve it changing the cabling setup.
