Thanks again Alfons, relaxed the middle of my spine & feels smoother and longer at the end of my day. Do you have any lessons for the legs, after sitting for a long time (1 hour or less) my leg muscles feel heavy and it’s awkward with lots of restless leg changes. This happens in lectures and meetings a lot and I notice other people aren’t bothered this way. If you have a solution lesson for this I’d be really grateful.❤🎉

I think one part of the sitting problem is the convex shape of the front part of the sitting platform of most chairs.. the rounded shape squeezes off some of the blood supply and lymph movements in the upper leg, really bad. I suggest to sit with your legs up the sitting platform (sitting cross legged or variations thereof) whenever possible. Other people might not be bothered because they are less sensitive, don't allow themselves to feel or are hardened by endurance sports or other things, or sit in ways that don't get their upper legs squeezed, etc. Many people suffer from restless legs, muscle twitching, so called psychosomatic or neuropathic pain, etc but they might not talk about it. They might not see a connection with their posture and furniture and movement adaption requirements even when pointed out directly or showed on a chart.

I love that you bring awareness to the head movement on the neck - that’s so important! I did a workshop once where this was explored in depth. The notion that the head doesn’t move on the neck like a trap door (open/close) but moves like a ball spinning on a curved pedestal that supports it - literally Atlas with his curved hands holding the head. The bottom/chin sliding back & up while the top/nose slides forward and down, as the occiput slides back and up…that image brought so much freedom to my head movement. It’s delicious!

Thank you so much for this image, Tracy! My head now feels like it's in a sling, more mobility with a balanced sensation of stability at the same time.

Dear Alfons, this exercise coincidentally came out at a time when I was having persistent upper/middle back pain for several days and it helped me instantly. I have repeated it several times since, sometimes even just the first part is enough to get that click in my spine after which I feel much better. Thank you for your videos!

thank you, alfons! I've been doing this massage lately, lying on my back and pressing my middle and upper back to the floor, flexing or elevating my legs. now I included the head as you indicated and then I felt the head lighter and also that the area of the back on the floor increased.

Dankefielmoahl ! Never thought of mobilising my back in such a light and effective way. It really makes sense to my body and brain, although it seems so simple ! Again, this lesson is a new little treasure.

Aaah perfect, I was having a hard time deciding between lessons, which one to revisit. As rewarding as doing lessons multiple times is, finding new nuances, I'm always excited to try out new ones. Good on ya mate 👌
Edit: what a lesson. I'll be repeating this a lot of times.
The bit about letting the fingers explore like the sentinel tentacles from the matrix really made the difference for me!
Just kidding, the half-break, letting go of more parasitic effort while holding the leg, wow.

when relaxing on the floor, unlike you, it's the palm of my hands that stay up. and when stretching my arms at head height, I feel comfortable flexing my elbows at 90° at shoulder height, as if it were a chandelier.
    Thanks.

Good observation! There’s so many ways to hold ourselves and rest. For example, if you look at me in my video, I have the elbows slightly bent and well out to the sides, that’s why my palms are turned towards the floor.. in this situation

Hi Alfons great lesson. I like your way of teaching. Are there also movements in feldenkrais that improve sitting on the floor? I often fall backwards and cannot sit up straight. From the physio or yoga area there are only stretching exercises. So I would like to know if there are any feldenkrais methods for this.

Luyz, Sit for meditation more comfortable (UP6) Sit for meditation more comfortable (UP6)
th-cam.com/video/VlbOaXdFkQg/w-d-xo.html is the video to answer this question. 😁 However, in my experience it takes a long time to get the functionality back, and needs to be practiced so often that it becomes part of your life. Also, I think it’s crucial to add other exercises as well (such as knee power training, and psoas lengthening) to unlock that kind of sitting
