    this was fantastic! It's a joy to find this channel. 10:15 don't forget here to help us USE what you just taught us by first this new trick (for me) of bearing first into the side THEN "propping ourselves up" with the arm/hand.

    These middle back releases are extraordinary. I can now feel a full body connection from head to toe.

    When I stood up at the end my feet felt like they were further into the floor. And I knew I didn't gain any weight while doing this lesson.. you said grounding, well exactly.. my sacral/ hip pain that was present on the back half way through the lesson was gone by the time the lesson was over. Yes let's call this banana lesson. I learned so much from your videos for a few years now and I'm happy to have joined your group, even though I don't even know what Patreon is lol. Somatic movement is great for me because I have pain and achiness which makes me want to NOT feel m body. Yet it is best to get back into the direct sensing of the body because there is a type of joy that comes from being inside my body, like Mother Earth is pulling me towards her and supporting me.

      Beautiful! Did I say grounding? I forgot! But now I read your comment and it makes great sense to me ❤️

    If you'd told me a year ago that the prospect of following along to a video about moving my body would be bring me such joy, I wouldn't believe you.
    Thanks for making the piloting of this meat armoured bone mech more fun Alfons 😁

      🤣 My pleasure, Nils!

      Oh, btw, a thought just hit me, of course we serious learners (or players?) need to look at things the other ways round at times, for example: the piloting of this bone supported meat mech !

    I did this: lying on my side, I flexed my arms at 90° and opened the upper arm to the opposite side, keeping my hips and legs fixed, going back and forth to massage my scapula.

    Hello, Alfons. I hope all is well.
    Do you have a suggestion movements for issues with the shoulders rotating cuff ?.

    • @ImprovingAbility
      @ImprovingAbility  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Luyz, without knowing anything about the person you're asking for I might cautiously suggest shoulder-circles in side-lying, with various, well supported positions for the arm in question, or maybe even the pelvic clock first, and then see how to connect the movements upwards. Less is more, but we must come to the heart of the matter non-the-less.

    Alfonso - I am about to have lower abdominal surgery - Which videos should I target prior to surgery to best help me learn to compensate/ minimize there activation and still be functional for with their (abdominals) tentitive state during recovery?
    ( I am beyond frustrated I will not be able to get down on the floor/ground! Your sessions and the ground/floor are some of my happiest places!)

    • @ImprovingAbility
      @ImprovingAbility  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Dear Julie, oh my.. well, one of the sad things about abdominal surgery is that you won't be able to laugh without pain for some time, not even chuckle 🥸 I think you could focus on eye lessons (for example my video, Relax your eyes in 21 steps) and head movements, and how they connect downwards. I wish you all the best and a quick recovery!!

    good! lying on my side I stretched my arm under my head and massaged my armpit on the floor.

    What did I just do? Do you have any theory video that I can check for deeper explanation. I see that it is similar to child behavior on the floor but... that's that

    • @ImprovingAbility
      @ImprovingAbility  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, a good observation. Babies and toddlers alike are very serious learners, they know they are in a swim or sink situation. In my videos we take an approach that’s more suitable for adults. I don’t have a theory video, but you could look up “Somatic Education” on for example Wikipedia and see if something there leads to deeper explanation or interesting reading.
