My girlfriend lives in Lapu-Lapu and I know a lot of it. The price is not bad for those two places. I stayed at an apartelle in Mandaue City near Mandaue Foam for a couple of months before I found a nice place nearby. When I told my girlfriend that I was thinking about renting an apartment or townhouse in Lapu-Lapu, she said, "No honey. there are many stealing here and it is not safe after dark" She has lived there for more than a decade so she is probably right about it. There are safe gated areas, though.
Ya mandaue is kinda sketch. Too much traffic too. You're correct of course there's a bunch of gated subdivisions to be had. There's one around the corner from me with units at 10k monthly in fact. Good deals to be had all around. Like u said, staying in a temp spot till u find more long term. This place beats the cost of a hotel for that purpose for sure

Hey Ben, thanks for the great info! Do you know if there is any secured parking for a scooter? What about housekeeping, short-stay and long-stay? Is there a safe in the room?
Hi Ben! Nice name heart 💗 😂..I think there's a spot for scooter, but not 100% on that. I do know there's no safe though. Unfortunately I didn't think to ask about housekeeping sorry. But I'm sure they would accommodate that need if you requested it.
I think the major benefit would be just using it as a temporary spot to find a more long term place. There's 2 bedroom townhomes in the subdivision near me for 10k a month for example. Granted, if u like the ease of it and the location, then hey, by all means, stick around there. I think you could work with the owner a bit. You might get a slight monthly discount if you stayed that long.
I want to come to the Philippines in November this year for. maybe three to 6 months but I'm in a wheelchair How is that going to affect things like rentals and stuff like that?
It'd create a few extra challenges but definitely not impossible. Ground floor apartments or a building with an elevator. Not a lot of wheelchair ramps here like the west. Most malls have them but hit or miss elsewhere
And now yall know why they only wany foreigners to go to the highly attractive areas, because they will ripe you off by hundreds and thousands of dollars. The entire world is becoming like that to only care about people with money and to not make things affordable so it can be accessible to everyone.Us foreigners may be able to afford Manila, cebu, bvc, cebu it park and angles but what happens when they start pricing things so high to where is that foreigners cannot even afford it.This is why when I visit these south east again countries I am staying far away from the highly attractable and touristy areas.
This really isn't a long-term pad Brian. The point is when you land and don't have a place, Guys tend to stay in a hotel for a few weeks, wasting 1k plus per day. Here's an all in one home base for them to pound the pavement for a better deal
@@philippinesxtremes I used FB Marketplace to find my 10k a month place. They would have lowered it to 8k if I signed 1 year lease. Anyway, some of us frugal guys are better at finding bargains than others, you offer a good option with this place.
Exactly. That's where the savings would be. Many come here to a hotel and then apartment hunt. Sometimes you can find quickly. Other times can take longer. There's a ton of cheaper apartments, but hunting them out and finding something you can deal with long-term can be challenging for some
Another very nice sharing! Full support. Good luck and best regards po/Ned 👍🎉👍

WHY ARE YOU SCREAMING?
My efficiency apartment in Manila was 10k a month, they are smiling at 16k

Hey. Ben is cordova on Mactan?
It is indeed. Short taxi ride from the airport
what is the name of the hotel
18entral
Expensive for me.
If you stayed 30 days that'd be like 600 a day which is pretty good. But if shorter stay then it's kinda similar to a budget hotel.
