I appreciated this video. This is the hotel I'm gonna stay at when I first get to Cebu either feb or march next year. Loved the first room with the living room. I want to be central Cebu so I can walk around and see everything. I also wanted a hotel with a pool, as I enjoy swimming, its good exercise for an old geezer (73) like me. I will stay there for 2 weeks, then find somewhere else there, until I find a more permanent residence. My goal is not to pay more than 22000 pesos per month in Cebu, but most likely not right in the center of town. I enjoy walking and window shopping, not to mention people watching when I'm relaxing with a good cup of coffee or iced tea. I've enjoyed your vlogs, especially your rentals, almost decided on Valencia, but I want to start in Cebu first, a good place for an expat to start and get acclimated to the weather changes from the Texas weather. I plan on visiting my daughter in-laws family in Antique sometime in the future and roam around the islands, one by one.
That's my main guy, Jeffrey! 2:12 Always cheerful. In fact everyone at Quest Hotel in Cebu City are so nice and accommodating. I highly recommend anyone to stay at Quest Hotel and get the experience!
We've stayed at Quest many times since they first opened mostly in a basic king room. GREAT value especially for extended stays. The breakfast buffet was always worthwhile. Consistently good food and excellent variety. Service is outstanding. Security is high. There is more there is more security than is apparent. Laundry is available or a short walk away. Several high quality massage spas nearby. YOLO massage two minutes south is world class the best massage we've had in Philippines. Ayala mall is five minute walk. Do be cautious..... several times we saw the syndicate children beggar-pick pockets working nearby.
Mike Hello. When I'm at Cebu . I like Lex hotel. Breakfast was great. Winnie my fiancee like the rooftop swimming pool. They have a couple outside too. I was going to try quest but we didn't make it. Have fun. By the way not sure where you get your reservations from but you might try agoda i've been getting good luck with that 14:55
Looks really lovely Mike and Janet. I'm sure you will enjoyed a truly wonderful time and so close to the main places to visit and central too. Great presentation too so thank you. Whenever I get a chance I head straight to watch one of your videos Awesome
We always stay there. Last visit we were on 20th floor when Odette hit. On our way home that trip my family of 4 stayed in a Jr. Suite. We really like that room too!
@@mikesphilippineretirement I want to say, January 2013. I was originally booked at the Parklane which was/is just around the corner from the Quest. The Parklane was ok but each day I'd walk past the Q on the way to Ayala and they had a super deal on since they were just opening. So, after my res at the P ended I moved over to the Q. The only thing I didn't like about it was they had these shaggy throw rugs in the bedroom. Didn't think there was any way to get them clean. Other than that, it was in 2013 exactly as you describe today.
The Quest is my favorite. We have had the Deluxe Double room at least twice, my favorite. The other times it was just a cheaper room with only one window. We also stay at the Red Planet hotel. I like that these two hotels are within walking distance of Ayala Mall. I enjoymthe buffet breakfast, but I think it’s to expensive.
I stayed at the Quest last year. Noticed Red Plannet was also nearby and it's probably quite a bit cheaper. What did you think of Red Plannet and how does it compare to Quest? Thanks!

Hello Mr. Mike, yes my wife and I stayed at the Quest Hotel back in 2020 prior to leaving the Philippines going to the USA. The buffet was awesome and the pool bar was very popular. What I remember most though is that our flight home kept getting canceled and we were forced to return to the Quest Hotel and they continued to give us our discounted room rate three times. Later I found out that we were the last flight out on Korean Airlines leaving for the US through South Korea when the pandemic hit in 2020. Enjoy your videos, you're both beautiful people and keep up the good work. God bless
Good video Mike. I’ve stayed at the Quest a few times now. Good food and bars there breakfast is fantastic and room rates are great compared to Australia. Cheers 🍻
I stayed at Quest many times and it was always great. After Covid-19, stayed 7 nights at Radisson Blu Cebu for a low price due to lack of guesses. Go in to just view the lobby and get a drink and you will enjoy it. The AC in the lobby was the coldest I have ever experienced in Cebu.
Love this place and not too bad as i think it was about $55 a night, so very reasonable. Super short walk to Ayala after you learn the route. Their breakfast was quite costly but 7=11 close and McDonalds as well for good coffee and low cost breakfast. I have found no problems with taxis in Cebu, but Manila taxis have been a problem.
Looks like a very nice place to stay for anyone looking to visit Cebu. Room rates are very affordable and you get a nice room. Here in the USA would be a lot more!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Quest and felt the quality for the price was very good. We also enjoyed the breakfast and coffee area every morning. They even have nurses on staff if needed free of charge. My wife sometimes will have allergic reactions to shellfish (itching/rash) and during her stay she had one. I called concierge to see if the gift shop was still open and if they sold Benadryl. They said no but they would send a nurse up. She came within 5 min and treated my wife free of charge although I did tip her. Quest Hotel gets 5 stars in my book!
Common practice at quality hotels is to have on record the plate number in Cebu. Haven’t experienced it anywhere else in the Philippines 🇵🇭. Maayo Hotel in Mandaue used to also give me the information of the car and driver to keep with me.
Thanks Mike & Janet . Very nice room. Im looking into booking a room here when i come in January. Im in Cebu for a cople days then i comre to Dumagetie staying at Go Hotels. Cant wait . Thanks guys❤
I was in Cebu last week also. I thought that I saw you in Ayala last Tuesday. I was setting in the food court if it was you, you was going out to the terrace. I didn't see Janet. We went on the Ocean Jet. We stayed at the Golden Prince this time we normally stay at The Hotel Elizabeth. We like staying there because it's about 2 blocks from Ayala.
Haven't done the Quest. Stayed at the Elizabeth Hotel a few times. Older upscale hotel showing its age, but similar amedities to the quest. Price has gone up so don't see the value anymore. Usually stay at the ABC hotel, located by Robinson circle. 1.5 a night for a king. Decent rooms..only 6 floors. No breakfast, but stores on first level and good underground parking. Starbucks and Bos close by.
The Quest Hotel was my transition spot when i first came for a 3 week trip to setup my apartment. I left for a little over a month, and then came back and retired.
Best hotel breakfast buffet in Cebu City. my go- to hotel when we leave Minglanilla for a weekend in the city. We use Bai hotel and Radisson blu hotel when we feel like splurging.
I love that mirror view, Ms. Janet! There's never been a mirror that doesn't love Ms. Janet! 🤣🤣 Yes, REALLY nice view over looking the pool on that first room! I gained four pounds just looking at the pastries! Very nice room! I watched Janet's live stream with Mary and never knew she has such a beautiful voice, Mike! Hey, three or four girls around the pool = Tampo, Mike! "Run Forrest... Run!" 🤣 I'm just kidding, Ms. Janet. Buffet looks incredible... At the end of the day, it looks like a great value for the money. I had been thinking about staying at the Quest when I fly into Cebu from LA, via Manilla of course. I figured I could stay there for a couple of days to recover from the trip, before I make my way to Dumaguete/ Valencia/ Bacong. The Quest is within walking distance to the Ayala Mall too! It looks wonderful! Well, y'all take care and all my best. Mark in Dallas.
Mike, do the hotels that you featured take credit cards and if so what kind of exchange rate will someone from the U.S. receive? Currently, the rate on the exchanges are running about $55.55 pesos to the dollar on 12/09/2023.
it is great value at $45 USD. I note that Waterford Hotel is just up the road and is very expensive and not as nice..SEFA is great 5 star but expensive, at Barcolod we had a room near the pool and it cost over 4200 peso including breakfast....We havce alos stayed in budget hotels on Bohol that were adeqaute and cost aroiud 1000 pero a night but rather basic but comforatabl..
Good review. I liked the Junior Suite the best--not sure what the cost was for that room? How much was the breakfast buffet? or is that included with the room?. Also, any gym or workout room? The location of this hotel seems great and easy for public transportation. Also, nice to get free parking for the motorbike if you stay there. I also like seeing a safe in each room--that's always a concern of mine for security of my cash & documents. I think I'll use this place when I get to the Philippines in mid 2024 for my 3-4 month exploratory trip visiting Cebu, Bohol & Dumaguete areas. Any idea what the condos rent for on the upper floors?
studio run 400 to 500 usd..no Breakfast is not included but you can purchase at a discount if staying in the hotel...cost about 500 peso for breakfast buffet with room discount
