    I have twin 1988 Yamaha 150 ETXG. I’m going to use this video for reference. Thanks for posting it…

    You helped me 100% get my carbs out of my 150 Yamaha 2 stroke. Best video out there. Thank you!! My motor only has 40 hours but sat for years. It was so nasty inside

    Just found your channel and had to subscribe to see what else you get into. Now to go and binge on your uploads. Thanks for the carb cleaning info.

    I have had trouble with this exact same motor getting above 1400rpm underway... I ordered the rebuild kit and am about to get started. Really appreciate the video. I have another video on my channel where I removed the cooling channel covers on this motor. Thanks, Chris!!!!

    Professional cleaning of the gas tank is wise...and worth the effort..Rec.fuel is expensive but so are repairs..

      Yes you are correct. That's exactly what I recommended to the owner too

    That motor has the electric choke setup, so all ya need to do is push the key down to activate it vs using the lever.

    Hi Chris! So there is no adjustment to the floats? This is like the third video I watched it looks like hook it to the pin and drop it in, I'm planning on rebuilding my carbs off a 91 Yamaha 200s

      You may be able to bend the clip that holds the needle in but you shouldn't have to

  • @partyoffive12345
    @partyoffive12345 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey Chris, I noticed you left the fuel in connected when you dropped it all in the carb cleaner. Should that have been removed? Or maybe it doesn't matter as it's for fuel, so resistant to the chemicals?

    Thanks for the video. I put the carbs back together but see one black line that looks like a vacuum hose that goes nowhere on the left of the motor near the top carb. Also, a tiny gray line with a pink stripe on it that also looks like it goes no where and I see a little wetness on it that looks like 2 stroke oil. Any idea what these are? I have photos but don’t know how to post here.

    • @christopherjpeters
      @christopherjpeters  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's been a while since I've done this video but I do think I remember there being a separate oil reservoir for the 2 stroke oil. You might try and trace that Grey line to see if it goes there. That black line I am not sure other than maybe a breather.

    • @hudsonconrad6641
      @hudsonconrad6641 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s a breather to the plate that goes over the carbs for the air box, there’s one up too and another below

      The owner got the kits from Yamaha and gave them to me. I believe they were straight from the dealership

    How do you get the jets the bowl goes over out?

    • @christopherjpeters
      @christopherjpeters  ปีที่แล้ว

      The carb kit that I used didn't come with new jets. I just unscrewed what was already in there cleaned them up and re used.

    What is the part number for the rebuild kits?

    • @christopherjpeters
      @christopherjpeters  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't have them. The person I was doing this for provided the kits. You may be able to spot the part numbers from the video if they are shown clearly. I will be sure to list part numbers for next time.

    How to change the oil?

    • @christopherjpeters
      @christopherjpeters  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The engine has an external bottle that hold oil for injection into the engine while its running. The lower end of the outboard gears also has oil that can be changed. Depends what what oil you are talking about.

    Did you not have to sync the carbs after rebuild?

    • @christopherjpeters
      @christopherjpeters  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. I did not. The linkage that connects the throttles are fixed with no adjustments. I didn't mess with any of the mixture screws either.

      @@christopherjpeters . In the late-model V150tlr, the mixtures screws are sealed as I recall correctly.
