An exceptional Hermann Hauser II - a guitar I feel so lucky to get to know. I'm equally happy to make this comprehensive video to share with you. From the round, singing basses, to the trebles that sparkle and fill the room, to the harmonics that pop off the string like a firework, this guitar has it all.
If you're interested in this guitar, or want to check out what I might have for sale, check out www.guitarcollection.com/ or write to me at theguitarcollection@gmail.com. My name is Evan Taucher - I'm a classical guitarist, educator, performer, and huge guitar nerd.
Welcome to the collection! Please let me know what you think!

An incredible instrument. And beautifully played. When I decided to build a classical guitar, I was advised to build a Hauser design model, which I did following detailed plans. This first effort turned out very well but did sound as you pointed out, a bit boxy and very tight. I didn't play it very much and started building a few more. After 3 years this first guitar now sounds totally different and has a lovely tone...open, with great sustain.
I'm glad I took the advice from Miles Roberts to build a Hauser.

That Hauser is a masterpiece. I very much enjoyed this video. Last year I bought a guitar that is supposed to be based on the 37 Hauser guitar (from Juan hernandez) I am very pleased with this guitar for a year now, especially for the price I paid for it. The sound quality of this video is exceptional, and I can clearly hear some resemblances with this 62 Hasuer and my own guitar (the clearity and the overtones are recognizable for me) The resonance and singing quailty of the 62 Hauser are out of this world though, probably the best guitar you have played on this channel (very closely followed by the Friedrich). Also, this is the best video on TH-cam if one is interested in the sound of a good Hauser guitar (there only 2-3 other video's with Hauser guitars that are also quite good). You have my gratitude.

Thank you so much for the thoughtful comment and message. I'm glad you hear resemblances with your own 37 Hauser modeled guitar!! Thank you, I sought to make a comprehensive video. It's worth mentioning that if there is more demand, I can make more. While it's still available. ..

I watched a lot of classical guitar videos on TH-cam, among all of them, the Hauser 2s made around 1960 left some of the strongest impression on me. The video "Antigoni Goni meets Hauser", and the one from David Jaggs "are Hauser guitars really worth the money", and several videos on GSI channel, now this one. Hauser 2s made during those few years sounds like some of the greatest guitars in history, extremely beautiful while effortless balanced.

I have a large tree of life in my den which is cut from tin. Well, when you play the bass strings on this Hauser II, the sympathetic vibrations wake my tree of life and it starts singing in sympathetic vibration! No other instrument you had ever played was able to do that! Truly amazing!

    Sounds incredible!
There are a handful of luthiers in Italy who are building Hauser replicas and getting very close to what I hear in your demo. Daniele Marabello, Enrico Bottelli to name only two. The extra magic percentage ( second to the luthiers talent) comes down to age I suspect and obviously the players skill

Thanks so much! It's always hard to say. These are great makers you mentioned. It's something I'm thinking about often, too. Artists of all types (artisans/performers/luthiers, etc) work their entire lives for one or two more percentages. I'll agree that others come close, but how close is a bit debatable. Certainly, no one -needs- a Hauser II, Torres, or Dammann for that matter. But these instruments do have a few extra percentages, as we'll call it that separate them. I'm not entirely sure it has to do with time, but of course, it makes sense!
No doubt, the most important thing is actually the player. The player enables the instruments. No great instrument even sounds acceptable with bad playing.

What a sound! Wow. I'm curious where you acquired this Hauser. They don't come up for sale in such good condition very often, do they? I learned on a recent trip to Tokyo that a large percentage of the historical classical guitars in the world are located in Japan, being played and preserved by avid private collectors.

It's pricey, but it's the real deal. Fortunately, there are lot of amazing guitars based on the Hauser designs where you get a great glimpse at the sound and feel. That being said, I feel the same way about a couple of Torres guitars I've played. Only for the small price of 250k+...

Sir good presentation and a beautiful guitar, however what's the point?
It's as if somebody presented a Stradivarri. We know theyre both great, and unreachable by 99 percent of musicians.

Beautiful instruments should be heard. I believe the point is inherently obvious.

      @jackkurasik8371 23 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

@@itstheguitarcollection Sir thank You for answer. However, inherently obvious is only the fact, that these instruments should be heard in concerts, not in a demonstration, road test type of format.

@@jackkurasik8371 This instrument is for sale. Which is why I'm demonstrating it. I disagree that this instrument only deserves to be heard in concerts. Plenty of people with real appreciation for instruments like these can enjoy them in their home. And it seems that aside for yourself, most people are enjoying the recording and in this format.
The reality is, that in large concert halls, this instrument will likely have be amplified, losing much of the value of the instrument's nuances in the first place. Besides that, most people wouldn't choose this instrument for performing large concerts.
I put a lot of care into showing every string of the instrument and a variety of musical examples. This helps us have a better understanding of the true sound of the instrument. No reverb, no enhancement, and no hearing it from 150 rows back in an audience. There is a lot of undeniable value, which leaves me confused at your comment.
