Hi dear, I have scheduled an interview with a recruiter from ‘BFITS Thailand’. I am really hoping to land a job in Bangkok. Not only am I absolutely in love with Thailand, but ‘BFITS Thailand’ offers so many great benefits, including the option to work as few as 15 hours a week. I am also part of the LGB community, and from what I have researched, Bangkok’s gay scene is incredible. Fingers crossed for the job ❤️❤️💛💚💙💜
Hiii! Oh amazing!! That all sounds really exciting! I wish you the best of luck with it 🥰💫 Bangkok is amazing and you will absolutely LOVE it there!! Soooo much going on all the time 💚💛🧡❤️🩷💙
Hey great video! I am looking into getting my TEFL but I also have my associates degree (2 year degree) in general studies. With that and the TEFL combined would I not necessarily need a bachelors to teach? Would I also find a higher paying job with having an associates? Thanks!
Hey!! Thank you so much! 😄 I have just posted another video about this subject which I hope will clear things up. Basically you need a bachelors degree as it’s a requirement for the Thai teaching permit. However there’s also possibility to work as an English teacher on a voluntary basis without a degree. 😍
Hi! Great video ty. Does the agency pay for your travel to Thailand? What would be a comfortable amount of money (US) to take if you decide on a 6 month contract to start? I don’t drink or have bad habits other than food, gym and beach exploring. Ty!!!
Hi! Thank you so much!! 😄Greenheart travel is one of the agencies that doesn’t pay for your flight. However I believe you can apply to international or private schools directly, they will usually pay for your flight over if you have a teaching certificate already. I would say have a minimum of $4000 to get you started. In Bangkok the monthly living expenses for a single person are estimated around $600 without rent (that’s being generous). Rent would bring it up to around $900 - $1000. Another option which is quite popular is Chiang Mai, in the north of Thailand. living expenses would be cheaper there as well as other more rural areas and islands. Hope it helps!! 💫
@@ishbelrose Solid information ty! I plan on getting the CERT here in Florida and I’ll see if I can find private schools and call them directly. ❤️ty again!
Hi!! I’m currently not teaching at the moment, thanks so much for your question, I’m actually just making a video all about this and I’ll definitely be answering this question in it. 😍
Is Level 5 TEFL enough to get a job in Thailand, or do I need a degree as well? I’m just unsure about all the requirements for teaching English in Thailand. Some people say that TEFL Level 5 is not enough. Please can you advise me on this. By the way you have a beautiful voice.
Hi Paul thanks for your comment!! 💫 to work as an English teacher in a state/ private school it’s required that you need a degree (in any field) and a TEFL certificate (120 hrs is the pretty standard one). I believe you need the degree for visa purposes too (kind of a tick box thing). I am going to make another video all about other requirements to teach there very soon. 🤩
@@editha.nwachukwu942Of course! It wasn’t one specific agent but it was a company called Xploreasia who found a job for me in Bangkok and the school agency was called ‘Education House Bangkok’. www.educationhouse.ac.th this is the link to their website 😍🤩💫 I hope it helps 🌈
Hi! Yeah it would, as you’re working closely with children it’s required that you have an international child protection certificate (basically proof of a clean record) and local police check certificate.
Hello!! 😃 I guess you could!! Depends on how busy you’d like to be. My schedule was roughly 9-5 Monday to Friday so if you’d like to fit more work in around that, it would be up to you. 🤩 most contracts are full time, there are options to volunteer part time though!! Hope that helps 💫
Thanks for the Question! Not that I know of :) you can also apply if you have a teaching qualification or degree in education for the position of a primary, secondary or kindergarten teacher. (This wouldn’t require a TEFL qualification) it’s only required if you’d like to teach English. 😄
Hi!! I’m actually making a video which will answer these questions this week. Thanks so much for watching. Basically, if you would like to move to Thailand to teach, then yes it is a requirement that you have a bachelor’s degree for the visa. I will provide more info in the upcoming video. 🤩
Unfortunately the Thai government made it a law for visas that if you wish to teach English and work in a school you must have a bachelors degree. It wasn’t always this was but it is a new thing. Hope that helps! 💫
Hii! Thanks so much for commenting ☀️ that’s so exciting!! Will you be teaching in Bangkok? Unfortunately I’m not living and working in Thailand anymore. But I hope to return in the future.
@@ishbelrose me too.I finish my degree in bkk. but I can not forget thai culture so I have plan to go there to teach.please let me know when you will go to bangkok again?
Hii!! Ahh that’s so exciting! It’s honestly so much fun you’ll have the best time! I stayed there for 1 year but they do offer 6 month contracts too. I absolutely loved it. You can live really well on the salary and have lots of time to explore other parts of Thailand or adjoining countries in the school year. The way of life is really lovely, although you’re in a major city it doesn’t feel stressful or anything. In Bangkok there’s so much to see and do, museums, art galleries, temples, amazing restaurants and bars and the shopping centres are unreal. 🤩Feel free to ask more!! Happy to help with anything 💫
Dear Ishbel Thanks for you effort. I send an e mail to Green Travel with your suggestion. They replied I must carry US,UK vs. passport. However, if I am not wrong you mention that people don’t need to be native. On behalf of you I just want to ask how Turkish learn fluent English even I had English Literature lectures like Shakespeare, Charles Dickens or Charlotte Bronte and more.. and I travelled 65 countries and lived in Serbia, Nigeria, in Chicago for business administration Master degree, Ghana, Etophia more than 15 years and do international trading so I am not only compatible with Engineering English (my BS’c Mech.Eng.) I have competence on international law, banking and more. I believe this is positive discrimination and my advise is to correct your video cause dreaming and hoping is every humans right. Thanks
Thank you so much for your comment!! I really appreciate it and thank you for pointing out something I didn’t think about. Of course it was never my intention to offend anyone and I do plan in the future to update the video. I wasn’t aware greenheart travel only accept certain passports. As I am from the UK I only searched for UK companies. I completely agree with you and believe that anyone can teach English if it’s their passion. Thanks again!
To get a work permit to teach in Thailand you need a degree. You can find work without a work permit but if you get caught you can be deported or worse and refused reentry. A TEFL is not a necessity. To teach legally, a degree is. End of

dead wrong. you dont need a TEFL, you DO need a degree to get a work permit in teaching
