I came to Thailand for employment (16 years). I am now retired in a town in rural Thailand. (4 years) As an American I have become less materialistic, learned to be more patient, and less judgmental. Being around a vibe of “politeness” and “sabai sabai” is definitely better for my mental health than the rat race and “tribalism” back in the USA. I like your videos btw
I lived in Bangkok for 4 years, 3 of them working and the other year just enjoying life. Your video makes me nostalgic for the life I had there. It's been 11 years since I left, but I will always have fond memories of the people, the food, the live music, and of just how much I loved my life there. I lived in SUkhumvit for a18 months, and the rest of the time in Sathorn, Soi Suan Plu. Both fabulous experiences. I found it so easy to make friends with locals, and with the expats I worked with. I was on a fairly tight budget but managed to do everything I wanted to do, and to explore many parts of Thailand and neighbouring countries. Loved the cheap markets that you find everywhere, any day of the week. Truly wonderful and I feel blessed to have had the opportunity. I've been back a few times but it was never the same as living there. Things changed, friends moved on, etc. Good on you for making the move! I hope you stay on for a while longer :)
When i was there nothing was in English. Not sure where she is? 🤔Also, Bangkok is a hussling city. I any country you go to you can find both the hussle & bustle and a more low paced lifestyle this includes the US.
when my girlfriend got diagnosed with stage 4b stomach cancer, Her reply to the doctor was "mai pen rai'... and the doctor replied "mai pen rai na" ... I couldn't chime in but I admire they could do it, knowing the feelings both had at the time (the doctor was clearly shaken when he told me first)

@@AntoinetteYvonne Antoinette, I'm so glad to hear your response but it's obvious that you put a lot of thought and work into your vids. The multiple angles, even taking shots from the floor, placing the camera inside the condo and then opening the door from outside. There's a lot of thought there. Don't think that this goes unnoticeable. Just saw someone mentioning the music you put in the background is also thoughtful. Good work Antoinette!
Finding your community seems to be amongst the most important things to do when moving overseas. And learning the language, even if only the basics, not only demonstrates a respect for the country but a willingness to become part of the culture. I have about a million questions, but since this is the first time i’ve encountered your videos…I will watch those first. Love the music and the vibe!❤
Hello 👋🏽 Antoinette, I agree when I was stationed in Okinawa and my boyfriend/fiancée taught me some basic phrases in Japanese that I used when ordering food . The natives were welcomingly nice but they never tried to hold lengthy conversations because they knew I didn't know more of their language
So glad you found a community and friends. That's key to settling in... Sister, the chips, and fried foods-- I know they are so good, but they stress our bodies, esp the liver and affect our bodies ability to detox, instead we detox through our skin. To balance if one finds it hard to cut down- add more fresh greens into the diet...it will help balance out.

Well, this is a surprise. Your video came up on my feed after I watched a couple other videos from some youtubers about living in Thailand. I'm Thai, just so you know. And let me give a warning, I might dive into some sensitive topics. I have watched videos of foreign travelers to Thailand with interest to learn what foreigners think about my country. They are fine; I have no complaints. But yours get my attention. First off, yours is the first black youtuber I came across who's doing a video on Thailand and who has spent a considerable amount of time here. Most of the videos I've watched were by mostly Caucasian people. So, it's refreshing to get a different perspective even though I started out with some skepticism. I like how you obviously spent considerable efforts in the production of your video which kept me interested. I like how you tried to know the localities and the locals better, i.e. your trying to learn the language, little though it may be, which shows your respect for the local culture. This is getting a bit long. I've never commented this much before, but I just want you to know I appreciate your efforts, to welcome you to Thailand and hope you leave with good impressions and experience. I'm curious to know though whether, during your stay here, you have encountered any racially discriminatory incidents.
You can also get food a fresh markets. I'm not sure what part of Bangkok you live in, but there's bound to be a big fresh market near you that make scurries. What I did to cut way down on expenses was to buy food from fresh markets and freeze them. They microwave just fine and save you tons of money over grocery store packaged meals.

Queen, after I hit the big M , I started to break out like crazy. I never had the issue before in my youth. My aunt told me exfoliate with yellow lemon morning and night and then follow your moisturizing and medication routine. Cut a lemon and rub wait 5m than rinse well. I still break out but less often and I find it happens when I neglected it.
I recommend if you love coffee to try and find a coffee bar close by and test their coffee, i find them 10000s better than those vendor machine ones, altho they are still decent, it makes the world of a difference
good video, good to see a role model doing things so a standard could be set for the future, note.. every time you put that make-up on you take 3 days off the age of your skin (😐), clog your pores, etc.. respectfully you don't need it.. ever.. embrace naturally. on top of budgeting get a plan for embracing your journey to naturality, and know that your true beauty is unexpectedly something that doesn't need to get covered up .. bless
America is getting to much for me, the competition and stress ect. I need my mental peace and need to be with around nature more! I’m coming to visit Thailand hopefully I can make it home.
Hello 😀, I just got here, about 3 weeks ago. Which district is the Big C in, where you bought the Salt n Vinegar Lays and the prepackaged meals and if you don't mind me asking which church do you attend? I visited one so far in Bangkok last Sunday and trying to find the one that I want to go to every Sunday. Lived in Vietnam for 5 years prior to this, few things are different between the two, I am still trying to get used to Thailand, missing Vietnam but I want to give Thailand a fair chance. One thing is for sure, the locals, in my opinion, are absolutely more friendly in Thailand. Miss you Vietnam but Thailand wins this one. 🥰
Credit to you walking, I end up getting a bike, the dollar or two verses the sweat equity....lol no brainer... I really like your content, continue living your best life...
You said, "Keep Living Life Beyond the Border" LOVED THAT!!!!!!!! I remember being in Selangor, Malaysia last year and LOVED that feeling of NOT being watched all the time, like here in the USA. I felt lonely at times because I didn't know anybody there and Some aspects of life were difficult because I didn't know the place very well, but with more time there; things would've gotten better. I felt FREE there, like I could Go anywhere without being Watched & Controlled. On the Contrary here in the USA, there is always Somebody Watching You; your neighbors don't Talk to You, but they Are watching your every move. Americans are too CONTROLLING and the doctors here are very Arrogant.

Thank you 🙏🏾
Thank you for your video. It was very informative❤
Loved your video. Did you get your hair done in Bangkok? If so where please? 😊
This is the first video that I’ve seen on your channel, and I’m Feelin it. New subbie😊
Hello. Welcome!!!
Very interesting content. This is the first time i've seen this. You could be onto something. Btw great camera lens!
Thank you
Queen, after I hit the big M , I started to break out like crazy. I never had the issue before in my youth. My aunt told me exfoliate with yellow lemon morning and night and then follow your moisturizing and medication routine. Cut a lemon and rub wait 5m than rinse well. I still break out but less often and I find it happens when I neglected it.
Morning glory is my favorite ❤ love your vibe new sub here😘
Morning glory is my favorite too! I love it!! Thanks for subbing!
I recommend if you love coffee to try and find a coffee bar close by and test their coffee, i find them 10000s better than those vendor machine ones, altho they are still decent, it makes the world of a difference
Back with another one! Peace and love!
good video, good to see a role model doing things so a standard could be set for the future, note.. every time you put that make-up on you take 3 days off the age of your skin (😐), clog your pores, etc.. respectfully you don't need it.. ever.. embrace naturally. on top of budgeting get a plan for embracing your journey to naturality, and know that your true beauty is unexpectedly something that doesn't need to get covered up ..
Thank you
LOVE YOUR BRAIDS!! Did you get them done in BKK? I live in Thailand, too :-D

Maybe one day! Thank you for watching the ones i do post!
Loved this! Moving there soon (not soon enough) …living vicariously thru you lol
best wishes and luck to you
@@AntoinetteYvonne thank you ❤️
Love your braids!!! They color is GORG! Did you get them done in Thailand? I will be moving there soon so I need a braider there. 😊
Yes I do
You said, "Keep Living Life Beyond the Border" LOVED THAT!!!!!!!!
Hello I just found your channel and just subscribed 😊my husband and I are looking to move there in June of next year so I will be binging your videos we love your area it looks like it's close to everything we just want to be able to walk to everything and also we would like to connect with other expats
