- Hi besties, this video is not intended on making you change your mind about coming to Taiwan. Every place has its own cons and pros, but the situation here is probably way better than what we are used to back home.
So… come besties sizodla imali.

They never tell teachers the realities of the job because they know that teachers would not take the job.

So glad I came across your channel... New subbie ❤️🥰
I tried applying in Taiwan but I was told I dont qualify 🙃
I have a diploma + TEFL + PGCE
Thank you for staying😁
Have you tried applying at international schools? I think you’d qualify
@@mzitheni_ no I haven't, i don't know any but I'll look them up.
I must add: I work as an educator in SA (2years+ experience) and I have SACE
When do you visit home then? Hhaybo manisebenza nangamaholidi? I commented before finishing the video LOL I couldn't let that point pass nje kanjalo.
Haha! We have annual paid leave. You can use those days to travel back home
Yhima mntase, did Teach Taiwan not offer you accommodation or you prepared allowance?
So what they’d do is help you find accommodation that’s closer to your school. And then they’ll give you 5000 NTD every month for rental allowance
Which region is the best to choose when doing your application ?
Depends on what you want. But life in Taiwan is generally easy, even if you choose small cities, you can still be fine. If you want a fast going life then cities like Taipei and Taichung would be good for you
You are so lovable bandla...
You’re sweet😁.
Thank you 🤍
When do you have a proper holiday (long enough) to go back home? I'm also conteplating coming that side but I have to come back at least twice a year for my daughter
Winter vacation which is between January and February is about three months and you could take up to two months during summer vacation which is in July and August
@@mzitheni_ Thank you for you response 😃
Have you made any friends? How easy is it to form community because I’m worried about being isolated.
@@chuluvokozela I’ve made friends and plenty of acquaintances. Scroll down to my birthday celebration vlog, those are my friends.
Depending on what you’re in too, there’s a lot of foreigners in the clubs. There’s churches as well. There’s social events and and and

Hi. Good info. I have been teaching English for 7 years in Asia. Does any employer pay weekly or biweekly? Is that possible to find Employer like that? Another question. If proper quitting notice given, will Employer screw you on the last month salary? Very common thing in China and Vietnam
Hey. I haven’t come across someone getting paid biweekly. It’s usually a month to month basis.
And that would depend on your employer really. I’ve never left before a contract ended, so I’m not sure.
Thann you so much very informative. Would you advice someone to leave their full time teaching job in South Africa and come that side. I want to move so bad but I'm scared plus I have a toddler. Not sure if I should leave him behind or take him either
Hi, I unfortunately can’t give you advice on that as it is something you must decide for yourself. Look at your reasons for wanting to leave and compare them with your current job. Once you know why then it should be easier.
Check the salary prospect of things and compare them with your current.
And, you can follow Lesedi Nkonyane here on TH-cam, she lives with both her husband and 2 kids. You can see from her channel how living abroad with kids is like.
All the best 🤍
Yeah ey the reality of not having enough vacation days. 😤😭
We make it work though with the leave days
Hey Babe, my move to Taiwan is eminent now 🎉 tell me, what do you spend on utilities? WiFi, water, lights, phone? Thank you❤
Big congratulations! I’m so happy for you🥳🥳🥳🥳
The price differs from month to month based on the consumption. But both water and electricity bills are always low. You won’t feel it.
Thank you so much for responding.🎉🎉🎉
fellow saffa in taiwan for a few months. we should groove sometime.
That’d be cool😁. Hit me up on instagram @mzitheni_
Thanks for the informative video, do you need to have a degree specifically for teaching to teach in Taiwan or can people with degrees either than teaching apply as well?
Hey Masego; you can teach in Taiwan without a teaching degree. Most people without a teaching degree apply through Phoenix Group Asia. You can explore other agencies as well
@@mzitheni_ thank you so much ☺️ I just sent my application at PGA.
I love your energy as well in your videos
@@masegothemba thank you! All the best with your application

How many intakes does the scam and international schools have? I need to apply my documents are ready and my introduction video. Can you help me secure a job if possible 😢
Hey. For Taiwan the intake is throughout the whole year.
You can check the first video I uploaded for agencies you can use. Alternatively you can also check @Thembelihle Bhengu’s channel, she has a video on the different agencies you can apply on

My goal is is to move to Taipei in March 2024 . And start looking for jobs after i get there. I hope that i can land a job offer within a month or so of being in Taipei.

Which part of Taiwan are you in?
I’m in Taichung

Please can you help me,find out if my country is eligible for a work visa in Taiwan (sierra Leone west Africa)
Hey Jane. Unfortunately the only African country that is recognized to be a native speaking country by the government in Taiwan is South Africa.
If you do have the right qualifications, I suggest you join Facebook groups for teachers in Taiwan where they share posts for international schools and cram schools, you might stand a better chance there given that you have the correct documentation to come into the country.
I know a few people who are from West Africa and they are working in cram schools.
@@mzitheni_what does a cram school mean
@@megad203 schools that operate after the normal school hours. They mainly focus on teaching English
I struggle with Shopee, can you maybe explain ?
If you’re struggling to add the address, go to your nearest 7/11 and ask them to put down theirs. Alternatively you can also copy it from the internet and put it down yourself.
For products, you can type in English on the search bar and if the items are available they’ll appear there
Thank you so much ❤
It's like South Korea kuyabizwa kwezi country nyani
Honestly hey!
So you work in December ?😢
Yep. The first break is between Jan-Feb
You must be very new 😂. You have a lot of the finer points to learn still. Btw 20 years ago would have been very different for you.. you are lucky us old timer expats took the brunt for you and a lot has changed since then..
Haha! I can imagine😁
20 years? I don’t think I’d last out here for 5 years even😹😹
Doesn't your school pay for your rent?
They give you a rent allowance which is capped at a certain amount. So if you find an apartment that you like and it’s more than the allowance, you’ll top up that amount yourself.
Hey @ mzitheni I like listening to your content but I usually get lost when you mix languages.... Could you maybe stick to English for informative videos like these so ots easier to grasp the content....
Noted! Thank you for watching and giving feedback
Or you can add subtitles.
I speak isiZulu and sometimes I express myself better in my first language 😅
@@snothilengema3900 Yes it must be subtitles, I love the Zulu part makes the videos more hilarious and he's whole personality comes out ❤️
😂😂🤣🤣🤣 as for the holidays no ways buya ekhaya
😹😹😹😹😹 hahaha! Asoze
Ingudu🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'd like to know if one can teach more than one subject, perhaps your qualification covers art because I see some schools offer art as a subject cam you teach both english and another subject
Yes it is possible. If you teach at a bilingual school or international school you definitely can teach more than 1 subject
@@mzitheni_ thank you 🤗💕
Well, yeah. South Africa is super cheap to live. Try living in Canada, the UK, Germany, or the US.
Yeah that’s true
Yhima mntase, did Teach Taiwan not offer you accommodation or you prepared allowance?
😂😂 awukahle
