When i first watched this movie i was so impressed with how the docking scene looked, and i honestly think its because movies use so much CGI that i didn't expect it to be practical.
Shot of Saturn has my eyes wide, cut back to McConaughey sobbing hurts me inside, my love of this film transcends space and time, why the hell did I make my comment rhyme?
This is my favorite Nolan film and my favorite standalone film (since I count LotR as a trilogy). I remember seeing this in the theater and being truly TRANSPORTED to another world--or galaxy if you would--like no other film ever had. The pure practical effects made it THAT much more of an authentic film that makes me appreciate this kind of filmmaking made with Nolan and other Tom Cruise productions like Mission Impossible. And of course, the score by Zimmer is god-tier!!! He is truly one of the composing GOATS in film. Awesome podcast as usual, fellas.
The funniest thing I heard someone who was working with Nolan on the production was “If he could’ve shot this in space with real spaceships and real locations, he definitely would have.”
I saw a theory somewhere that suggests the future "we brought ourselves" is actually advanced robots/AI (advanced versions of TARS and Co) that survived and looked for a way to save mankind. TARS and Coop were both in the black hole when Coop made that statement. Looking at it from that lens, it makes sense.
From the first time I watched this film to the Tenth, I absolutely love this movie. Nolan firing on all cylinders and doesn’t left off until the credits role. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Re: Bad soil near mountains. The Inca developed micro farming techniques in the mountains thousands of feet up. The Chinese have been doing mountain farming longer than that. Just look at coffee - grown in mountains. Also, back in Canada (where I'm from) there are farmlands near the Rockies. 🙃😉
I think the "out" regarding the Grandfather Paradox comes from when "they" pull him out of the vessel in whichever manner "they" do to put him in the tesseract. At that moment, they can theoretically place him in any moment in time, and in any place. The "they" idea creates an exception to the rule.
Attempt number 2 at winning a Interstellar movie poster 😆. Interstellar is one of my favourite movies ever, love you guys, keep up the good work and big up the Nolan brothers
I love Interstellar, but I think it has issues. The sound design isn't very good and the writing has problems for me, but I still love the movie. It looks amazing, and it's a very emotional movie. Awesome movie
If possible see it in IMAX, they might have special screenings or special events in future. it's absolutely stunning.. really an experience i will never forget. I had seen it in theatres 3 times when it came out in 2014 but no imax as there were none nearby at that time. But a week before release of Tenet they re released Inception & Interstellar in Imax. And it was a whole new experience again for me. Love it
What do you guys think of the 1997 movie Contact? Also Interstellar is my all time favorite movie. Absolute masterpiece. You guys are great I watch every single video!
would you guys consider reviewing Zero Dark Thirty and all of the Tom Clancy movies The Hunt for The Red October Patriot Games Clear and Present Danger The Sum of all Fears Jack Ryan:Shadow Recruit
Still great to hear and watch despite this being the Third time you’ve talked about interstellar but honestly you can make several episodes about this movie
I never understood the hate for this movie either. Nolan clearly respects the intelligence of his audience. In my opinion the hate comes from people's lack of attention and being too lazy to try and understand what's going on.
You guys really nailed this one. I still remember seeing this in theaters when it first came out. Obviously, it’s a theater so of course it was quiet, but when the crew arrived back from Miller’s planet and Romilly walked out and they saw his age, there was not a single breath in the crowd. It’s something I’ll never forget. 👍🏼
@@raidersofthelostpodcast_ It was a lot like Interstellar, in thet loads of folks hated it when they thought they were getting a horror movie rather than on of the best love stories of the last 25 years.
Saw this for the first time yesterday in4dx. Absolutely mind blowing and it was my first 4dx showing. Avatar next week is going to be amazing. I need to wear a coat cuz they shoot water and stuff at you. You guys watching the re release of avatar?

That opening quote was from "Back to School."

Yea I agree, but either way it's still a paradox because how could they place him in the tesseract if humanity dies without him being put there
I’ve seen so many tik tok clips of this podcast I decided just to watch the entire thing
Nice haha
The dust could also resemble the sands of time also

Whoah!!
I wish i could of seen this movie in theaters, i didn't watch it until 4 or 5 years after it came out.
The docking scene was the ultimate theater experience. So wasn't watching Matt come out of the sleeping chamber. We all screamed lol

Be on the lookout for the 10 year anniversary 70mm IMAX screening that Nolan is going to do!
Such an amazing sci fi movie. The first 23 yrs lost really brought the perspective into reality. Keep it up movie warrior's.

I think everyone checked their bookshelf as soon as the film finished

Whoops thanks!
Cooper is the most selfish character disguised as a hero ever written. He has no redemption arch.
If saving humanity through the love of his daughter isn’t a good redemption arc then I don’t know what is.
