I must say one of my all time favourite scenes is when Aragorn charges in the final battle and the first two people to follow him are Merry and Pipin. Love it every time
Love the podcast! But they don’t smell Gollum, Sam doesn’t say “Bug” he says “smells like a nasty Bog” which is the swamp they have to pass through, but they notice Gollum is following them. But still a great podcast!
Hey guys. Just listened to this on the podcast app but wanted to come here to also say great episode. Keep up the good work and the subs will be flooding in in no time.
You guys should have special guest stars every couple episodes or something. Seeing Andy Circus on here would take something already amazing to the next level!
Been waiting for this one! My favourite fandom, love your content lads keep it coming! Although you killed me a little inside mixing up moria after seeing galadriel but I can forgive it😅
@@raidersofthelostpodcast_ Nah jokes aside you guys did a great job. Love this podcast & your others. Would love to see you guys do a daniel craig james bond list with the last one coming out soon
My mom would read me the hobbit before bed. I grew up knowing about LOTRs and then they came out when I was like 8. The 1970 animated scared me. Seen each one in theaters with my brother and sister. I had the toys but the best thing was the Boston museum had an exhibit showing all the swords and behind the scenes stuff. It was awesome. So every time I watch them it really brings me back. I’d love to see them in theaters all at once extended in 4k.
I'm surprised you didn't bring talk about the allergy John Rhys-Davies discovered he had to the glue they originally used for the beard, causing disassociative behaviour to the point that he eventually thought he really was a dwarf in an epic battle, brings new meaning to some of his lines in helms deep lol. He meant that sh*t lol, has a whole interview talking about it, worth watching.
Great Podcast, but You did somehow messed up with the timeline in Fellowship: it's Moria first than Forrest Elfs and only after boats, battle, and split up. That gave me a nice confusion)
I would love to see a vid on maybe films that made you fall in love with cinema or maybe even your top films of the 2010’s. Anyway I still love your podcast and I give you the best of luck 👍👍
Die hard fan of LOTR.. All 3 movies are great and after each movie ended, there was this raging eagerness and desire to watch the next one and that made waiting for the next one really really impatient!! Who can forget the opening scene and the battle scene that followed. The shadowy and terrifying Nine Nazguls wraiths kings chasing the hobbits. The attempted journey through the high pass, then through Moria, battle with goblins and orcs, then with the Morgoth vs Gandalf. Then came the Two Towers, the battle Helms deep.. Man, the Charge of Rohirrim on the plains of Pelennor!!! TO DEATH!!!! TO DEATH!!! GOVES ME GOOSE BUMPS WHENEVER I SEE THAY SCENE!!!!! AND WHAT A SCENE THAT WAS, WHEN THE NIGHT KINGS'S GREY COMPANY SWEEP ACROSS THE PLAINS AND THE WHITE TOWER IN GREENISH MIST!!! WOW!! I ONLY WISH, THE MAKERS WOULD HAVE ADDED THE SCOURING OF SHIRE TOO!!
A friend of mine saw a theatrical musical version of Titanic years ago. When I asked what he thought he said; " I thought that ship would never sink". While I loved the trilogy I felt the same about " The return of the King" Jackson didn't seem to know wnen enough was enough. It should have ended with " You bow to nobody " or whatever the line was. 1/2 hour too long.
Amen to the close up shots of Aragorn!!! When he's on screen it's just my happy place. Actual conversation I've had with my boss. Me: Sam's kinda cute. I want to pinch his cheeks. Aragorn's HOT Her: YUP!!!!
This was fun to listen even if I just today finished watching the movies again and there wasn't anything new in this. One simply can't not love the Lord of the Rings. ♥️ Still I just can't help but fact check some parts 😅 1) Nazguls screams are screamed by Fran Welsh, Peter Jacksons wife. Not opossums. 2) You said Gandalf and Aragorn are some superpowered people. Well, Aragorn is decendant of powerful human line but still just human. Gandalf is like in angel-status in the saga, so more powerful than others. Balrog, he fights, is same type of being. Just on the bad side of things. So battle between them is battle between equals and lasts, if I remember correctly, a week in a book. 3) As said in podcast Gandalf actually died. His task in Middle-Earth was to fight Sauron (his task, not all the wizards as was said in podcast), so he got send back to life since the task was not fulfilled yet. He though didn't get anymore powers except maybe extra knowledge but the wizards are prohibited to use more power than necessary in Middle-Earth since they are not supposed to rule humans. So when the enemy uses more power Gandalf can do so too. 4) Hobbits don't live 200 years, 120 has been oldest hobbit ever lived before Bilbo who outlasted that by one year before going to Grey Havens (and who knows how longer after that). Also Pippin wasn't adult hobbit yet in the movies/books, so he does lot of stupid stuff in movies and needs to grow quickly. 5) The hobbits don't smoke weed but tobacco by Tolkiens word. So in the Isengard they are only high of victory and first proper food and tobacco from a long time. 6) Gandalf doesn't kill Saruman, Grima Wormtongue does. 7) The One Ring is in its most powerful form in Mount Doom, so resisting it there is hardest. Frodo had resisted it so long he couldn't anymore. Hard to say could anyone have done it. 8) The looks between Frodo and Sam in the end are looks of "I know what you have been through. Only I know it. Can you believe we are here and alive?" You shouldn't oversexualise things.
Well. The films are basically "cliff notes" of the main story. When you can talk intelligently about Tour, the Father of the Father of the Kings of Men, the Fall of Gondolin, the Story of Earendil, the Banishing of Morgoth, the Fall of Numenor, and the Forging of the Great Rings of Power - well, then you've done your research. The rest is...meh.
I wanted to listen to you and do something else on my phone so I found you on a Musi music app I think run by TH-cam so I’m listening to the video right now
He has not aged quicker... MANY years have gone by since Bilbo gave the ring to Frodo in Hobbiton and when they see each other again in Rivendale. 3001 to late 3018. A lot of natural aging with occur in nearly 17 years.
Don't get me wrong I see what y'all are trying to do here and it's a good thing a film review podcast is a solid concept but you guys definitely need to work on ironing out your facts cuz a lot of what you said is factually incorrect
Appreciate the insight, we definitely could have done a better job with the details of this trilogy, it's so dense and full of intricate plot lines and information we did get mixed up a few times. Will do a better job on future episodes on franchises with immense lore
I was expecting so much more from this. I'm sorry but you guys know some things but you are also getting a lot of things wrong that as a lotr fan, is very annoying

YUP!!!! "For Frodo..."
And they get overtaken by the regular army immediately cos of their widdle legs LOL
What’s so great about this trilogy is even the Extended versions are great 🔥
Even the hours of extras on the extended editions are great

The scene where Gollum is arguing with himself is the best motion-capture performance I've ever seen. Andy Serkis deserves more recognition.

I love how you guys just casually mention how Elijah Wood lives in your neighborhood!! 😂

I love the Hobbit trilogy. Yes, they used a lot of CGI, but they were able to create amazing fantasy landscapes and visuals. Its pure fantasy.

Eomer is Theoden.s nephew, not son. Also Eowyn=niece. She adresses him as "uncle" right after Gandalf releases him from Saruman.s spell.

He leaves the ring to Frodo because Gandalf insists. He trusts Gandalf to look after Frodo.
