Just purchased RF 9 with the wireless dongle. RF definitely seems geared more toward fixed wing than helicopters. Even the control sticks are reversed in the controller gadget. Many of my switches are not recognized - in fact only a single switch is recognized. Thankfully I can assign flight mode to that switch, but hold I could never get assigned. I'm using the default keyboard key for that now. I also noticed the rates are slightly different than when I'm running it with an actual aircraft despite me copying the model over and binding that copy to the dongle. For example with the real aircraft and the throttle in -100 position (all the way down), the hold switch off, and flight mode 0, my actual Blade 230s V2 does not spin up. I have to apply just ever so slightly upward pressure on the collective and it will start to spin up. It does seem to behave the same once in the air though. It even does the same little back and forth dance as it spins up. My 360 does not do that, but the 230 does. I do love it though so I can try things I would never try with my actual model and works on giving me the confidence to try new things without worrying about a repair bill.

How many switch are being able to be programmed?! I have a dx6 g3 and I can only see 4 buttons which mean that I only be able to configure the three way switch (d) and the two way switch (a)! ... Is it. Possible to use all of my switches?!

Mine would not bind via the bind button either. You can do this: Make a copy of an existing model you want to fly with. With that model selected go to the Bind menu in System Settings and you can bind from there. I think it's because you are trying to bind with an existing model. Not sure, but when I did the model copy and binding via the bind menu I was fine.
Really it is just the way that Realflight and the PC sees the control. Try not to get hung up on the name of the input, but concentrate on how that input is interpreted. Hope that helps!
One more question. I have RF9. I have a model that climbs even with no power even after adjusting the elevator trim. Could that just be the model I downloaded?
Hi Tommy, Not sure what exactly you are running into but if you are not getting any connection it could be a driver issue. Make sure that the ws1000 is being recognized as a game controller in your PCs device manager menu. Hope that helps!
There is a zoom in feature. By default it is simply just scrolling in on your mouse wheel. There are also different camera views that might help as well. Hope that helps!

Been waiting nearly a week for RF8 Download link to work. I should have probably bought the retail package since I'm still waiting for the website to work. I'll report back if and when it ever works. Well Tom this is a fun little gadget, bought this to use with my DX9 because I dropped my Interlink and broke a couple of switches. The 4 line install set up in the manual implies this is plug and play with no complex programming. Got the bind no problem and followed your tutorial and this thing is so screwed up I don't know where to start. Got frustrated and switched back to the interlink and that no longer worked properly had to go to restore default settings. So now starting from scratch. On the plus side my Blade Fusion 360 showed up, so off to play with that. Any suggestions?? Thanks
Complete waste of money. After you program your four basic channels for aircraft, you have the option of assigning the remaining channels to the onscreen menu functions, or flaps, gear, smoke, which means unlike the corded interlink, you’ll need your mouse to access the menus and a reset if you want to utilize your remote for more than basic aircraft functions.
just buy the version with a controller people! Don't put the miles on your sticks you use to fly your real rc equipment. You can put years of wear and tear on your transmitter in a few days flying a sim.
nope. a new flyer will love having the same feel and same transmitter. They wont be beginners forever. Just my opinion , not everyone has extra 100 bucks either.
I bought a DX8e and am planning on upgrading to an ix12 in the future anyway. I like the fact that it behaves the same once in the air. I can get the proper muscle memory I need to push the envelope on my real life model. The 300 crashes I have trying to do a tic toc have a zero repair bill cost :)
I have both the Controller and a Spektrum DX18 Gen II. I always fly planes on RF8 wirelessly with my DX18 radio, as its the same one I use out in the field, and I have way more flexibility with my switch assignments. As far as I am concerned, it is the only way to go. Don't bother using the controller. It is much nicer to use the same radio that you use in the field.

I have RF 9. I dont have the channel assignment window you have. How do I choose what switch does what. For example "gear" does not appear on my list.

Really it is just the way that Realflight and the PC sees the control. Try not to get hung up on the name of the input, but concentrate on how that input is interpreted. Hope that helps!

Hi Derik, make sure you hold the bind button as you plug in the USB. Otherwise make sure the usb is actually powered?
