Not first or last time Apple and google collaborating on something. Remember that TH-cam and Google Maps were default apps on IPhone for YEARS.

So much for Apple’s “groundbreaking AI” that they’re working on in the background. Looks like this may be like the Apple car where they invest many billions into a technology, and then find out that they’re too late to the game and can’t catch up with the competition.

Apple is known for always releasing things later but the quality is always higher than 95% of their competitors.

In Android, Google Assistant is already using Gemini as it's voice assistant, and it's just as good if not better than ChatGPT

Gemini is baloney compared to ChatGPT. Trust me, I've done many comparisons.
I think you missed a huge point. The reason for Apple going for partners is that there’s legislation in place in different countries that require approval for the use of AI, and each country has their own requirements. Apple can avoid developing their AI around all the rules each country has and focus only on their major markets for local models, and then rely on their partners for other countries where they are still seeking approval and where their models don’t meet requirements

It’s something that could be a big failure if they don’t approach it correctly. If they do release it it will very likely be in beta mode and will not be developed fully until later next year

I just read that S24 has the cameras of the same quality of Pixel 7, is it worth it? But a company like them with their money they could make an offer to Cloud AI which I heard is like GPT 4. Anyway I see a pro about it, having many AIs working separately they need more effort to get stronger, instead if many mobile use the same one, there are more data and become more trustworthy and reliable.

Yet the pixel 8 misses out on Gemini due to hardware limitations??? currently using the pixel 8 the hype was very short-lived this will probably be my last Google device very disappointed with Google.
I remember when they started with Intel based computers but today we have M1,M2,M3... We know Apple, maybe they want to try while building their perfect AI
I suspect that Apple has their own models that are far more focused on iPhone integration, Apple ecosystem integration, with smooth and consistent results. However, I suspect they’ve found areas where Gemini performs better.. perhaps in some small but significant ways. I would guess that Apple is interested in using Gemini only in those specific instances to bolster their own ai, rather than to simply copy-paste the Android ai into the iPhone as is.
Most software in the last 10 years has intelligence built in. Have you used Alexa, Siri, Google , voice assistants you used a form of AI. Have you taken a picture using your smartphone? You have used AI to make decisions about how to digitally filter that picture to make it look better. To say you don’t want to use AI, then turn off your smartphone, computer and all other technology in your life.
Last point about Apple possibly making the company it choices as its "GenAI" partner the most popular model could be key. They could lowkey be the king makers of the AI war and make money while doing it.
Does it mean Siri is dead? 🤯 I’m not looking forward to this collab! It just means I should not be paying a premium to Apple if I know it’s no longer going to be secured

if Apple iAI can take advantage of the Apple Neural Engine on their chip it could make a difference.
This is not the first time Apple was helped with their iPhones. Remember when Microsoft bailed out Apple in 1997 with $150 million to keep Apple from filing bankruptcy and allowing MS Office to be installed on iPhones? Or when Google collaborated with Apple in 2007 to install Google Maps and TH-cam apps and allow Google search to be the default search engine on iPhones? With what Apple has done to Microsoft and Google lately, I'm curious as to why Google would be willing to help Apple again.

i dont understand why google cant create an ecosystem like apple with its devices now the software is great. they are lacking in hardware. tensor is not that great as the m chips or the others
Android is open source that's why.
All non-apple devices are already on ONE ecosystem, they talk with each other perfectly, and that feature is called "sync" or just simply "internet".
They only hire and promote INTJ-adjacent personality types. That's why they suck at everything design / aesthetical / user experience.
We'll be seeing videos of Apple's Ai or lack thereof in a few months. All the headlines will read, "New reports suggest Apple may not be using Google Gemini after all".
Apple should team up with OpenAI if that's ok with the Microsoft deal or perhaps Anthropic. Or straight up Nvidia, they have great results in the ai field.

I used Gemini, a couple of days ago, it didn't just give me a single solution, it's first answer didn't understand what I was saying. But it caught on with the second chat, a week before, I used copilot a week before, it was more creative. Some science fantasy elements and poetry, about renewable energy and sustainable transport, I succeeded in turning 2 eleven page stories into 80 pages, but it couldn't get it from inside the computer, to inside the computer. It took 3 days and used a fraction, of the resources, that I provided, very little fast short term and long term memory and little CPU, even though there is 16 TOPS, of AI architecture in My chip.
So... MM1 on M1?

Filmed this a day before the lawsuit -- but honestly Apple will have a lot of things to use in its defense -- like how RCS texting will be supported in future iPhones, but a lot of the lawsuit went into the problem with green vs blue bubbles.

I feel very good about this whole business venture. As we should look at the bigger scale of things. Microsoft has teamed up with open AI and Mustafa silliman of inflections PI. So that means that there is some very tough competition out there. So apple is making a very wise move. Then Google has Gemini and has teamed up with anthropics Claude 3. Who has beaten Gemini and GPT 4. So it's time for things to get a little spicy out there now with more seasoning and flavor. As mishaps may occur but thats life. Now it's time to loosen up out there and get a little wild.

Apple kept the AI Processor in it's Silicon Processors. They probably projected the advancement of GenAI at that time. So it's about time that they will introduce the software for it. Good Luck.

"Generative AI" sounds a lot like "self-driving cars." Nice idea, but always limited and so not to be completely trusted or relied upon. Self-driving cars are limited by their sensory inputs and ability to respond to situations. AI is limited by the info in the database it uses to create its responses, and its lack of intuition. So, AI will be handy, but limited. It will always be just a program.

Uhhhh iPhone has a 5x optical zoom camera that outzooms the galaxy’s 10x zoom in low light conditions. The iPhone was the first smartphone in the world with a 2000 nits Dolby Vision display. First smartphone with 3D facial recognition. First 3nm chip and still the fastest GPU and CPU on a smartphone. First modern design smartphone with satellite connectivity….. 2.5 day battery life on the current 15 pro max. I don’t think you understand….. iPhone is still the most advanced smartphone in the world. So what if the others have an AI in them. Apple is surely developing their own too. They just haven’t released it yet. Apple doesn’t like releasing things until they’re more baked. The other AI’s, on the other hand, are being released before they are ready and there’s lots of backlash going on because of that lol

It's the genius approach that openai took that made it so great. They knew q&a format was a root source. They knew a simplified and bs-free interface was irresistible to interact with, allowing them to scope the massive dataset to data that humans actually care about foremost - categorizing it, filtering it. This is why you see the other big names trying everything they can to push out their own version of a chatgpt. They need mass user interactions for rlhf. The geniuses over at openai are certainly of a different breed; like they could see the future or something. Just incredible. Also why apple is 100% bluffing here. Just look at gemini, born of the company that everyone thought would surly be the leading party; what did they come later at? Rlhf. It's missing and they have been grappling with it; the recent news is an indicator of an unrefined model, not 'woke'. And unless someone cracks the self-learn problem anytime soon, this is the only move... it's most likely far away though.
Gemini is better then chatgbt. Remember Gemini is self learning and connect to the world web while chatgbt learns only from what it's been fed at the past and present time. At least that's why I learned.
