We lost my dad several years ago to ALS - I spent a year watching him go from being a healthy 60 year old man would would do anything in front of him to not being able to hold his head up or speak. Technology helped massively and at the same time let us down tremendously - Tech like this would have helped in a huge way.

My prediction in the next year or two is Face ID will go away and be replaced with retinal scanning instead. This is just one of the many little steps on that path, and paths towards other features
Being someone who NEEDS accessibility provisions to even use their tech in the first place, seeing Apple make core experiences more accessible is hands down my favourite aspect of using Apple products.
I agree 100% I rely on VoiceOver. Without it my life would be a little more difficult. hahaha I love how this year they are adding a bunch of accessibility features, I love the idea of music haptics.
I just like it because I can watch "wholesome adult videos" (that I cannot mention without getting banned by YT) without having to scroll with my hands. Voice commands for the win! (That's a pro trick so make sure to jot that down!)

I use both .that statement is true and funny. Set the phones side by side . Say the key words...ie hey Google and hey Siri.. play around . Siri is very limited . Google will let you text your neighbor derogatory words if you chose. Siri gets hung up on basic tasks.

Ive seen a lot of these videos talking about these features, but why is no one talking about the fact that it shows the "do not disturb" toggle being able to be moved to the home screen? So I'm assuming that means you'll be able to move any toggle out of control center onto the home screen? Thats big..

In dual sim mode, there is no option for calling from primary or secondary. There is only default call option which is either primary or else secondary. It should be option call from primary or secondary which is not available, this option to be updated in upcoming ios update.
What you smoking mate? It literally has that option on the dialer and on contacts…

Loving the accessibility features coming to the phone. Was talking about the visual motion cues and a coworker added, "why dont you just look away from your device?" but its apple's job to stay on as much as possible and theyre finding new ways.

Apple can say whatever they want to about the leaks but they secretly love it because it keeps us talking about their products and their operating systems. These leaks are what keeps Apple relevant while we wait for their announcements.

If photos people have deleted surface years later on other iCloud accounts, I wonder how safe the I tracking really is?
they weren’t storing your photos. They were stored in an iCloud backup file which is stored in your iCloud or you can save it on device. I believe . But if they wanted to store your pics they wouldn’t do it on the same servers as iCloud they would do it on external ones and they wouldn’t write a function to grab files from there Only to send files there. In ios 17.5.1 they fixed how photos are deleted from icloud backup files aswell

Ok, sometimes I have to work on my IPad or IPhone on a moving car while traveling, and this Vehicle Motion Cue is literally SICK!!! No more “let me take some time to rest my eyes before I though up in the car”. I’ll edit with my IPad during the ENTIRE TRIP!!!
It’s always emojis and accessibility features. TH-camrs and journalists overhype it and people end up underwhelmed and disappointed when it’s finally revealed.

None of these I find useful, Handicap friendlier iPhone stuff. The music vibration haptic thing is laughable. I can barely feel my pro's vibration. Can we get that 3D touch back please I'm tired of accidentally turning on my flash from the lock screen. Also the switching of the wallpaper by just holding the lock screen thing for a few seconds can that be turned off in settings?

After trying the vision pro for a few minutes, I went back home and tired to use eye tracking to control my iPad.
Do we really need an upgrade because the last upgrade allowed me to use a dongle for my iPad to my motel room TV and yes, the volume will come through my AirPods with the room TV volume not playing, genius
Wonder if motion cues will come to iPad. My kids like to use the iPads on long trips and sometimes have issues with motion sickness

This is why I always find it absolutely crazy when ppl GENUINELY hate Apple. You might not be a fan of their products, sure, maybe even their business model, ok, but you cannot deny Apple is still a pioneer and innovator in many aspects. Most ppl are privileged to not care abt all these innovations, but I’m happy Apple pays attention to such “details”.

What I find interesting that these first Ai leaks come out early but the software doesn’t come out until the fourth beta release of iOS 18 and that is usually around mid August to end of August.
