Elephas AI and Mac GPT are great tools if you are looking for an AI layer on top of your Mac. No need to wait for Apple.
Please don't tease me, Apple! Bring Siri into the 21st century.
yes please
Apple waits until the concept is proven and then jumps in. I feel like that will always be the way, which also means it will always be a safer premium device to buy.
They won’t 😂another nothing burger guys 😂
@@TheEnclaveBloodBank this moran still living under the rock lol
6:30 Hey Bridget here’s a solution to your desktop file organization, right click on the desktop > Select Use Stacks > Select Group Stacks By and choose your preferred option. 😄
OH SNAP. What else can you fix in my life?
Bro fumbled
thank u bro
Apart from the content, the way you deliver it makes it very interesting and immersive. I usually don’t have patience to watch anything beyond 1 minute but I watched your whole presentation. Good job🎉
this explains why nearly every apple device has released with a 16 core neural engine.
Which makes me wonder, why AI would be exclusive to the M3 (although I just googled that M3 NE cores are 60% faster vs the M1 NE cores)
@@MsSjaakvaakwho says AI is exclusive to the M3?
@@MsSjaakvaakit won’t be exclusive but it will run a lot faster on new devices
People forget Apple has been doing Ai stuffs already but always say machine learning but machine learning is apart of Ai
And yet Siri found my phone and set off an alert the minute you requested it in the video. Lol
Strange. My Siri has only ever responded to my voice. No one else can trigger it. My Alexa on the other hand....
Only Apple can make it look like an advantage that they are moving slowly / lagging behind. Genius
Apple is not about innovation which has been very successful for the company. It's not about being first. It's all about getting it right the FIRST time.
Apple is deliberate, not impulsive. Android manufacturers always want to be the first to adopt some novel technology that ends up never taking off or is just way too early. And when Apple adds features, you know they've spent a year or more figuring out how to make it work on their devices. Android phone manufacturers just slap random useless features on their phones and act like they're innovating. Whenever Apple adds something, its because it has a purpose and they make sure its something that most everyone will want to use.
Android phone manufacturers just slap random useless features on their phones and act like they're innovating.
brain less iSheep for a reason. Tell me when Siri becomes useful lol
@@casualintrovert207
@@TheEnclaveBloodBank Like coping Sammy in AI?
@@casualintrovert207 I wouldn't say Android manufacturers are very state of the art at all. They do test quite a lot of different things, but it's mostly not state of the art. I was refering to Apple vs companies like openAI, Google and others that are developing and progressing the AI boom. It will be interesting to see what Apple cooks up for sure, but they are definitely late to the game.
You're such a great journalist. Always well pondered analysis with great charisma.
Imagine having Bridget's voice as Siri's, damn it would be so awesome lol
With AI, you'll be able to do so in the future. Be careful what you wish for?
Don't think we are far from that. Although knowing Apple, just because you can doesn't mean you'll be able to.
Great points about Spotlight and clustered desktops... I hope they make files more searchable and insight rich
Wonderful Mrs. Columbo, you play with words better than Apple plays with AI. Love your Vlog.
Apple is desperately trying to birth an AI product while other companies are happily sending their AI’s off to graduate school.
I use Openai's ChatGPT turbo, and it understands everything I say. I have a stutter and I repeat myself constantly, but that doesn't affect it. Hopefully Apple's AI will be just as good, because I really like the ios and macos ecosystem.
Nothing wrong with opening your world. I have an iPhone, but I use Google for my searches and Microsoft chat gpt for AI, a gaming PC as a desktop, Alexa as my voice assistant, and a Samsung TV to watch games. I couldn't care less about the Apple ecosystem.
In the future, I might have a Tesla Robot in my home, while still driving a Ford F series.
6:30 yes, theres a feature called Stacks that automatically sort desktop files
does help me at wc also? Or i have to do it manually
You’re 100% correct
Can AI help to get rid of ads on TH-cam? I have to use Brave browser on my iPad to solve that problem but Brave can be buggy.
No need for AI to getting rid of ads. There’s service called youtube premium for that.
@@evannowl No. We need free solutions.
I never see any ads on TH-cam. Not sure why. My browser is Vivaldi and I have several add-ons like Ghotsrey and Noscipt, but I am not sure which exactly blocks the ads. I once disabled all adblock stuff I could find, but I still did not see any ads on TH-cam.
@@proudbacteria1373 No, you don't. TH-cam is designed to make money, not to give you free entertainment. You can either deal with the ads or pay to have them go away.
Firefox with Adblock extension works for me.
Excellent video! Love the "One More Thing" series!
they also mentioned AI in M3 October event
I love your blog Bridget
Amen in fixing the little things first.
I want something that can learn the weird tech work arounds we all inevitably need to create to allow us to move past the latest computer issue that f’s up your work.
thanks for triggering my siri you seriously couldn't have anticipated this?
Starting to wonder if there's even a point to photography anymore in the future. But then I remembered why I love this stuff so much. It's not just about capturing pixels, it's about capturing moments, emotions.
AI might be good at replicating, but can it recreate the soul of a scene?
Not convinced.
Is there still a place for human photographers in this near future?
Just wish Siri could actually tell me the weather when I ask it if it will rain in the next hour or so…
i saw the folder called "apple ai broll
Gosh you are so smart. Do you have a channel of your own? This is the best thought on this subject right now
I just hope I’ll have to ability to turn it off these potential features. The idea of an AI rummaging through my apps to get stuff done doesn’t inspire a sense of security.
On a slow week could we maybe talk about tvOS and how bad it’s gotten?
One thing I'd like to see is Siri able to handle several things as once, with a memory of the other tasks. Essentially, Siri able to help plan my day, giving me directions and suggesting places for dinner and knowing how to use all of my different apps.. checking my emails and letting me know which ones I need to respond to first.. etc.. all without me needing to open any apps or word things in just the right way. Imagine I set a reminder to go somewhere and it does a better job of filling in all of the location details etc, and then when I DON'T leave on time it says "weren't you going to go?" and even sets off an alarm if it notices I'm not on my way. Obviously not everyone wants that, but it would also learn that about people as well.
let me guess, if it comes it will be super exclusive to the iPhone 16 Pro or Pro Max, the New iPad Pro, and so on
Still no OLED screen, no WiFi 7?
Wow Bridget Carey is awesome! 🥰
milftastic!
I wonder if Intel Macs are going to miss all the new AI features. Probably will still get the OS overall, but...I dunno. Apple's been pretty harsh with Intel cutoff dates ever since AS.
USE STACKS TO KEEP DESKTOP CLEAN 😭😭
Apple should develop AI to bring Steve Jobs back😂😂😂
I am sure Apple will be just fine with doing the right thing with getting A.I. right. They always do. You just need to keep learning new things and maybe, just maybe you’ll get more smarter, maybe. Like using an Apple watch instead of a speaker to find your phone. That sounded pretty dumb considering you tried it more once and it didn’t work…
it may go further than being a tool as this video suggests, it may change how the home screen looks altogether, it may break the cycle of looking at apps , instead smart siri becomes the home.
That eye shadow makes Bridget even hotter
Recent Vision Pro should have had an AI dimension, but sadly it looks like Apple's R&D isn't really aligned with where new opportunities are emerging. Why Apple did not invest in Siri decades ago is puzzling.
So basically there's no new information, you're just contemplating maybes
CNET’s Bridget Carey reminds of the Daily Show's Desi Lydic.
Absolutely, the last statement is the key. I know when it comes to Apple they sell values over features. I also know it will take time. Slowest way is the fastest way to success! M on it.. m also aware of the counter parts are at the bleeding edge but it still don’t convince me to overlook what Apple has on its plate!
You are so funny 🤣 😂 your videos are informative and funny, thank you! I am waiting for the next version with WiFi 7.0, OLED screen, AI chip to be on device!
I've been avoiding the "AI vs Art" topic for years now, but I can see how it would disrupt the concept art or fantasy art industry, where people actually need to put in hours or days to create a piece to get paid, whereas AI could do something similar for less and in seconds. I do art for fun, I have an engineering day job, and to be frank, I think AI could potentially perform my day job functions too someday. AI is inevitable, and a lot of people are discouraged by the fact that we may get 'replaced'. At least I don't see it that way. We just need to adapt to the change, like how we use to search on newspaper clippings, now we just google pretty much everything; or how we had to walk for miles to get to a payphone, kids nowadays don't even know what payphones are anymore. Life is short, just go with the flow and enjoy the ride.... it could be a ride to Candy Mountain, but I bet it'd be a fun ride nonetheless, losing a kidney or not :)
They need to replace Siri with robust conversational AI that maintains context and can automate/perform many tasks in the OS and mobile apps without manual intervention. Don’t just introduce gimmicky AI tricks like erasing objects in photos…that would be pathetic.
Good vid.
My problem is I’m watching tv or listening to music on my speaker in the living room and say “hey siri” and my watch or iPad picks up instead and don’t understand to pause/play on the speaker.
I want to be able to tell my phone to play the next episode of something and it knows I’m home in my living room or bedroom or even outside patio too turn on that tv and play it there. Or sometime I say add bread to my shopping list and it add it to some reminders or tell me I don’t have bread in my contacts list 🤣🤣😂🤣😅🤣🤣 it needs to be better understanding
Yeah, no. Just gonna stick to my older products, hate this new ai surge...

"I hope Apple keeps the slow thoughtful pace here, because I'd rather see AI done right to help people, rather than have it rushed to help Wall Street." Well said, Bridget! Apple's, or any other company for that matter, primary focus should ALWAYS be on how it can better help its customers rather than Wall Street.
The "innovation" will mind blowing, literally warping ones mind into an historical time vortex 😂
On PC we have AI support from many many years
Is it too late to delete my browsing history back to 1998?
nice
Apple had to acknowledge AI because Sora Open AI if challenging them and suddenly Apple is playing secure game for its products like FCP (Final Cut Pro)
you know, the craze of non-engineer tech enthusiast on AI was amusing. But right now, it's just disturbing and hurting tech industries, not by taking job. But by shifting attention of investors here and there. Causing job deficits randomly.
Wall street is going to feel it when they replace their journalists
The thing that worries me with AI everywhere is the great unknown of malicious use and possible AI virus.
AI on iOS should come with a shut down button.
isn't SIRI some sort of AI already?
Siri is Artificial but not Intelligent.
The new apple MacBook Air looks to be a beast & it will mean your laptop will have longevity with the M3 chip. I think apple should tread gingerly with AI as i think it is still in its infancy
Cluttered homesreen? Mine is worse.
And Apple Watch getting Ai feature
"I rather see AI done right to help people rather than have it rushed to help Wall Street."
Even my phone has Ai built-in ❤
Do you have any content in Spanish? I was happy to hear you speak Spanish 😃
When Apple says ai it means Apple intelligence not artificial intelligence 😆
Sorry. Apple doesn't really have a good track record WRT AI. Even with an early lead in Siri... It's like Apple doesn't know what they're doing 🤦🏻
Haha, Bridget triggered Siri here on my phone 😜
Same😂
Because I have all my Apple products set to Australian language (being Australian at all). Hey Siri speech from an American video never sets off Siri on my devices. Whoops, that just set off Siri, of course.
Her voice is so clearly
The content creators of this show are Apple fanatics and enthusiasts. We hate the biasness
Another great presentation. I’m not really a big fan of AI. I’m not sure how much longer I’m gonna stay in the electronic world if I have to deal with AI or too much. I may get a dump phone at some point and just forget about it.
Great video. It’s not just Wall Street and their constant stock manipulations, but Apple also is pressured by the “cheap and easy” crowd out in the real world. They are the consumers who demand Apple bring out underdeveloped features and don’t particularly care about privacy, data mining or bloatware as long as it is cheap enough.
I don’t want any of these AI features on my phone.
I personally do not want to rely on AI. To me, it is the further dumbing down of humanity. Don't get me wrong, I think there are some things it can be used for, but I don't want it to do my thinking for me.
it worries me a lot, when someone says that a device can predict “What you want, before you know you want it. “ this is creepy as heck…!!! And a privacy and financial liability.
Trust the algorithm Zoeb. Join us Zoeb. The AI knows and loves you and wants to have a personal relationship with you. Give in to its almighty wisdom!
I 100% agree with you on what they’ve done with AI so far. Yes some of what they’ve done is “cool”, but it definitely is NOT useful in most peoples real lives… All personal assistants (Google, Alexa and Siri) are pretty much useless at most things, with Alexa (in my opinion) beating out the other 2 purely based on its smart home capabilities, but even at that it’s pretty dumb. They get confused at simple requests, can’t do things you’d think they’d be good at by now, very limited eco systems and have altogether barely advanced in the past 5 to 10 years… And with all the advancement we’ve had over the past year in the field of generative AI, what did we get at Samsungs big joint Google release? Photo editing, summarising emails / chats / notes and something that’s basically reverse image search / Google lens made slightly easier…. Oh and they put Google translate in messaging… I am hoping that next year (maybe this year with Apple, but I suspect they won’t release anything huge this year, they’ll just announce they’re working on it) we’ll see some big things and actual upgrades to assistants. I wouldn’t be surprised if the next snapdragon chip has some major local AI processing upgrades which will massively aid on device features, which will then lead to Apple doing the same next year.
Apple really needs to work on AI; it needs to catch up. Siri is good for simple tasks like "set my timer for __ minutes,”. Siri’s dictation is terribly bad; it doesn’t understand 7 out of 10.
Every time I search for something, it brings me too many unrelieved files (like 13,000) that I don’t know what these are like .meta, .str, .py, .json, .res.
I don’t need them. They waste my time and energy. Filtering searches is not as easy as you think. I'm optimistic that Apple can fix the problems and bring real AI to us.
Totally agree with you needs to be more practical
I say it's done enough to be cancelled.
✨ apple marketing team missed big time to include AI terminology in their product intros and adds. Google Microsoft Samsung already used the AI excellently in their marketing despite Apple already using AI in its product. Apple need a shuffle in its marketing team because of this failure and embarrassment.
Siri is grandma of HAL9000.
As long as it doesnt pull a Gemini
Literally shows how much of a buzz world AI has become. Literally not one feature mentioned here was useful.
Since Artificial Intelligence are been invoked, time to collectively reread Amy Webb of the Future Today Institute’s Novel The Big Nine: How the Tech Titans and Their Thinking Machines Could Warp Humanity. Especially since we have another SXSW emerging tech trends report incoming [March 9, 2024 at 11am].
It Will change the price 😂
AI laptop with 8gb ram 256gb is not enough, Asus have 32gb 1tb cost 1299$
Apple saying AI feels icky. But worse is claiming it's great for AI then releasing it with 8GB of RAM. There's some great small models coming out now and quantization lifts a heavy load but 16GB should be a minimum. Also a fast RAM manufacturer should be at least in the top 5 wealthiest companies if people realized how important it was and will be for processors like groq
👍🏼
Feels like AI will just be another excuse for the inevitable future price hikes from these big corps anyway for localised AI processors. Look at Pixel 8 for example: it will not run Gemini locally even the specs supported it in theory. Also locking AI on certain platforms can only ensure customers having the best access to the feature sets I am sure /s
The whole new level seems to be a disappointment.
Apple A.I. locally on your device so that means they’ll use Spotlight everything search.
As we all know that Apple is relying on Google's Gemini for AI support, which means Apple is not investing in AI R&D!!!!
Happy international women’s day Bridget. You wouldn’t have been doing this a couple of decades ago if things were still like they used to be. 6:43 😂😂. Crapple start your photocopiers!
Apple has been building Neural Engines into devices since 2017, so it’s the rest of the industry following Apple.
As long as they don’t start to charge a monthly fee to have the AI features then is all good but.. I’m sure that’s their plan 🤷🏻♂️
