- This Tissot Seastar 46587-3X needs a full restoration. There are many small issues that have to be fixed. ASMR, no talking.
The watch is powered by cal. 2571. The base movement was developed jointly by Tissot and Omega and also used in some Omega watches without the day complication with a cal. number 1481.
The watch is running poorly. Crown is loose. Day/date complications have several issues.
All case parts are restored. The movement is cleaned and inspected, then re-assembled and oiled. Missing parts are replaced.

As a watchmaker myself. I have to say 10/10. Excellent job. No shortcuts. Very well done
Thank you so much! That really means a lot coming from you.
Are you a hobbyist watchmaker or Professional Watchmaker? Big difference.
One of the absolute best restorations I have seen.
Videos like this makes us realise the type of craftsmanship that goes behind the timepieces
i love that you re-finish the case aswell, few restauration channels make them look as good as new
Glad you like it!
Wow…!!! Incredible work…!!!! Thank you for sharing..!!
Thank you for watching!
I knew it would turn out awesome then I saw the pretty dial, but end result exceeded my expectations. Great job!
Thank you! The dial is gorgeous and very good condition indeed.
brilliant, fabulous, splendid, outstanding, marvellous, superb, magnificent, supercalifragilisticexpialidocious...👏👏👏
Thanks for making this and posting it. I've just restored a tissot cal 2481 and although not identical it's very similar. Your video was extremely helpful.
Thank you, glad it helped!
It's a well known fact that sandpaper is labelled according to the amount of hours it takes to make a scratched crystal perfect again 😂
True! 😂😂
Tive esse relógio quando era criança, no inicio da década de '70. Ele é muito bonito e gostaria de tê-lo novamente.
Trabalho magnífico de restauração. Parabéns.
Beautiful finishing. Gorgeous piece!
Thank you for watching! I appreciate your kind words. Glad you liked the result!

Великолепная работа.
Nice work... Black or deep blue strap please! Very over engineered date works....
Thanks! Glad you liked it. Black or deep blue would definitely look great on this! I agree on the date works..very over engineered with many strange quirks.
Sen bu işi biliyorsun bravo
Incrível! Perfeito! Brasil.
Аmazing jewelry work by a watchmaker! Thank you!
Glad you like it!
Wowwwww. Good good good job.
Nice video 😮 where did you find the parts for the watch?
Thank you! The date right was from Cousins UK and everything else from eBay.
amazing.
Thanks! Are you using a flat stake when closing the barrel lid bearing?
Thank you for watching! Only the flat stake and round punch are shown in this video, but in addition I used a concave punch to close the part that extends inside the barrel from the other side, and a concave stake with a bigger round punch to create a slight depression around the hole to adjust the endshake.
una pregunta todo lo que se ve dorado es oro ?
En este reloj no, los componentes dorados son de latón o Glucydur.
When did tissot start using plastic in their watches? Ty
Thanks for watching!
I believe in the early 70's or late 60's. They even released a watch made almost completely of plastic in the early 70's. It was a complete flop and couldn't compete with the quartz watches that were so popular.
I have a vintage Omega Constellation automatic chronometer (I believe it's from the early 60's) that I would like to have you restore... just like you did in this video. How do I contact you?
Wow!
❤❤❤❤😊😊
I have a question fantastic video. What is that dryer called please
Thank you! That is a food dehydrator, any brand will probably do. They're cheap and great for drying watch parts.
@@ChronoWorkRestorations thank you i might have to get one im still learning
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏻💖
👏👏👏👏👏
What oils/greases did you use fo0r this movement? I have a similar one, tissot 794, and im stuck. I dont know what oils i should buy.
I used various Moebius lubricants, 8217 for the barrel wall, 8200 for the mainspring, 9504 for the keyless and calendar works, 9415 for the escapement, 9104 (HP 1300) for high torque pivots and 9010 for high speed pivots. That's a lot of different lubricants, especially if you have to buy all at once. They'll last very long but do have an expiration date. I only have experience with Moebius lubricants, but Molykote DX should work well for keyless etc. If you're just starting out or practicing and don't want to spend so much on lubricants, you could use Molykote DX for keyless works and Moebius 8000 for everything else and then get the more specific lubricants later on.
@@ChronoWorkRestorations Thank you very much for the explanation and tip. I was keen to buy 4 (the ones you have on your oil cups in this video). Moebius 941/2 for the pallet jewels, Moebius 9010 for the low-power gear, Moebius HP1300 for the high-power gear and Molykote DX for grease. Is this a good start? I live in switzerland, so i can arrange all four for less then 50$.

Hello friend might wanna help a buddy out? Im trying to do a crystal replacement on my seiko 5 sports 7S36-00L0 and i found out that the watch crystal was 28mm in diameter but i cant seem to find the thickness can you help me in finding the thickness for my watch model?
Maybe you already solved this somehow, I couldn't find the thickness listed anywhere but the correct crystal for your watch appears to be 280PX5LN03.
Nice watch btw!
Great video, great work - you earned my subscription. That makes me sub #800!! Do I get a prize? 🙂
Thank you subscriber #800! 🙏 As far as a price, you will get to see many more restoration videos, fair enough? 😉
@@ChronoWorkRestorations Deal! 😀
Will you do my Rolex I’ll pay of course
Thank you for the offer and for trusting me enough to ask!
My policy so far has been to basically only work on my own projects.
I assume you're based in the US? I'm in the EU and the shipping, import declarations etc. would also make it quite complicated.
For those reasons I'll have to decline the offer for now. I truly appreciate your understanding and support. And who knows, I may change the policy at some point.
