When I was a little kid I had one of Roger Moore's James Bond movies on a VHS, A View To A Kill. I really liked that film and it also includes Christopher Walken, who is a fantastic actor. So when I heard that Roger Moore uses this Tissot PR-516 automatic watch in a couple of scenes in the movie Live and Let Die I had to get it! In the end of the project everything turned out very good, the watch runs well. The watch was probably dead because there was some dirt that had seized the gear train. Probably its been dead for a long time because I couldn't find much wear on the parts. Hope you enjoy my work, thank you for taking your time watching my movie!
The first watch I bought for myself was a Tissot Seastar in 1969 in Switzerland when I was just 14 yrs old; 35 yrs later I bought a ladies Tissot Ballade III automatic for my partner. These are lovely watches.
Wow, the restoration process on this iconic James Bond watch is mesmerizing! The attention to detail and skillful polishing really bring out its vintage charm. Such a satisfying ASMR experience - truly well done
I still own the Tissot watch I was given at about 11. I always liked their design for the hands and the watch dial, they have a clear elagance about them.
Thanks for the great video. I had a Tissot navigator from 1975 which looks nearly the same and probably the same inside. I passed it to my Son Ben after having it fully serviced some years ago.Still runs and looks fantastic. Thanks again.
I bought a watch from 1968 with an ETA 2551…it is very very small. I have disassembled it, cleaned it and reassembled it, it has been my most complicated movement, especially due to its size, and it has come back to life with surprising precision. I just hope one day to do what you do... thank you very much for your videos, they are spectacular and I learn a lot. Greetings from Spain.
Your craftsmanship is the highest quality, with such a delicate touch. Your tool chest is phenomenal, had not watched in a while and I see all these new tools to play with, well done Sir. Thank you for the fantastic videos.
Excellent video. Nice work. I really like that there is no stupid music in the background or superfluous talk. I really enjoyed watching how you brought life back to that watch.
Did anyone expect James Bond to wear a Tissot watch? I would have expected Rolex or Omega as a man who is constantly on the road in the world. But that's how you can be wrong. Good Job Sir …
Suprise R moore was wearing tissot in this movie he was the best of them in Ian Fleming J B so good restoration of this watch must say Bravissimo ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
Not sure how long Omega has done it, but I know for many James Bond movies, Omega releases a James Bond watch. There is a limited number, each in a special presentation box. I have the Omega released after the James Bone movie Spectre. The watch was a gift from my wife at my retirement. As we were making the purchase, a gentleman came in with the same watch as well as the Omega from the previous movie. He was interested in their value as he had purchased both overseas. Naturally, the Spectre model was worth around $6k but the older model according to the sales person had gone up quite a bit and would continue as each new Omega was released. It came down to number of watches available. Since owning the watch; I also own a Omega Orange face dive watch, I’ve used the occasion when my wife drags me to a jewelry store to ask about any of the James Bond edition Omega watches. I’ve yet to go into a store and have them tell me they had one or even sold one. They all say the numbers are limited and only certain stores get them.
First watch I bought with my own (earned!) money was a very similar Tissot... I had it restored a couple of years ago and it keeps better time than my ...Datejust! Great video.
Fantastic overhaul. Yeah it's nice when an actor adds their own particular taste to a film in the form of a watch etc... Nice to see something different and uinque.
I’m a fan of all things James Bond, although Roger Moore was not my favorite… I really thought I knew the watches… But I did not know this one! Had no idea… it’s pretty awesome! Kudos on the filming of this video… Well done!
The the old seals from the 50s to the 80s used NBR (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber) ideally changed every service, this must have been lying stored somewhere for many years :)
I thought I knew virtually every watch Bond had worn - Rolex, Omega, Seiko, Breitling, Hamilton, Gruen and Heuer - but I don’t realize he once sported a Tissot!
Mine was missing the bezel entirely....the original bezels were made of Bakelite plastic which shrinks and becomes brittle with age. I found a person in Sweden that fabricates new ones specifically to match the PR16 that (hopefully) won't have the same aging issues.@@Watcheyes

@@Watcheyes I looked it up and indeed he wore a digital Seiko in 1979 Moonraker. In the context of the movie it had some explosive capabilities. I remember it because I saw it in London that year and just before it started they played a commercial for that watch featuring Roger Moore. Searching further I see that he also wore the digital Seiko in an earlier Jame Bond movie: The Spy Who Loved me.

Met Mr. Moore once in England about 1973. Always smiled and was kind enough to give an autograph. Love this watch/repair. Well done.

Really nice job, especially on the case and the caseback 👍🏻
When brushing the caseback like that, try to add some seed oil (or any other oil) 😀

It seems to have liked this watch as he can be seen with it in many photos also, thank you :)
